What are the grips made of? Smooth g10?
  2. I relocated my reloading room to the basement last week and am loading after he goes to bed or during nap time.

    CZ TS for NJ

I think the 10 rounders have a giant plastic base plate, but I could be mistaken. I don't think you are going to find what you are looking for, regardless and if you did, it probably wouldn't fit in the mag well. Edit to add: http://czcustom.com/images/products/detail/11105_TS_40_10.1.jpg So, I don't see how you can even change baseplates on those. I think it is a lot more plausible to turn a 17 rounder into a 15 rounder than making a 10 rounder work. L10, maybe??

    CZ TS for NJ

Kind of funny in Colorado 15 round mags limit all the serrious & competition shooters run 15-25+ rounds, We the people bend to the knee easily our Government is corrupt and not following the very document our country is to follow. of course my mags only hold 15 or less and glow in the darkSent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk and yet, they ask for gun owners to be more "reasonable" and make "common sense" concessions to further limit rights that have slowly been eroding for the last 80 years... but I digress, as this doesn't help the OP with his problem.

    CZ TS for NJ

I don't know Jersey law or what is required, but I bought my TS from a guy in California. To limit the mags to 10 rounds, he basically epoxied a piece of flat kydex along the back side of the interior mag tube that kept the follower from taking more than 10 rounds and then epoxied the dimple you use to disassemble the magazine on the base plate. Whether that is legal for Jersey (or Cali), i do not know... but it was fairly simple to remove, as a buyer in a free state, and convert those mags back to standard capacity as no truly "permanent" modification was made.
  6. From my research, watching videos, and talking to guys in the safe business, it seems that the Fort Knox PB1 and PB4 are about the best thing going for a pistol safe. They're pricey, but have a good lock that can't be defeated by dropping the safe or using a paper clip. There are a lot of videos on the internet of people opening these little hand gun safes with next to nothing as far as tools are concerned. there are tons of videos like this..
  7. i was a very good tennis player for a long time and never had any issues. i'm in pretty good shape for being 43 ... I've always considered myself an athlete. Still very much involved in strength/strongman type training. I've still become more prone to elbow tendonitis/tendonosis as I've aged. Started about 4 or 5 years ago. I still deadlift 500+ with a double overhand grip and no wrist wrap with no issues, still do pullups and a lot of esoteric strongman type grip training with no issues... but you put anything over 225 on the bar for a bench press and it's instant flareup. So most of my pressing is done overhead because, for whatever reason, it doesn't bother my elbows. I've dropped bench press, olympic lifts (mainly cleans) and BJJ from my life and my elbows have been much happier, and these are things, in some cases, I had been doing for 15-20+ years with no issue. Bodies age and stuff changes. Figure out what exactly is causing the issue and drop it from the rotation for a while. If it is gripping too hard with your strong hand that is causing it to flare up, work on weak hand dry fire, reloading drills, movement, etc.... give it time to settle down. Time is the only fix I have found that works. Just one man's opinion.
  8. Will pick you up for next month. Cool deal. No hurry. Not looking like I will shoot any matches that count in October anyway.
  9. I reserved a spot in a March class.. Looking forward to it. I need all the help I can get.
  10. Made C in production, A82466. Please add me to the race.
  11. Have you tried bigger spacers? I've had ok success with putting bigger pieces of rubber hose around the tension screws to loosen up holsters a smidge. No experience with Comp-Tac though.

    Spur-less SAO hammer

    meatiest hands ever??
  13. I've never had a problem with 147 rn loaded to 1.15 in any of my 5 cz's. 2 shadows, a pre b, 85c and TS.

    Which sp01?

I'd wager that my shadow weighs a good bit more than my les Baer in 45 acp. It is a chunk of a gun. As far as recoil goes, it's been so long since I've shot a 9mm 1911, that I couldn't offer an opinion. I'd be hard pressed to wager that the sp-01 has more muzzle flip than a short dust cover 9mm 1911 though
  15. Out of curiousity, what race holster do you run with that setup, Atlas?
  16. Hit or miss on non SV guns or hit or miss in terms of general relaibility?
  17. I have searched and cant seem to drill down to anybody answering the question. What is so preferable about the "old style" SV mags? Will the new SV mags work in an older SV gun or is this only an issue when trying to use SV mags in non SV guns? What's the best route for getting reliable 140mm 20-21 round 40 cal magazines for a decade old SV? This 2011 mag stuff is kind of confusing me.
  18. You can see in this picture I took the bottom corner off the sight, I didn't want to modify the slide and use a low hammer (I find the factory Shadow hammer at least equal to the race hammers, and the particular one I have is better). gotcha. cool deal. the TS rear fixed sight is one of my all time favorites..
  19. The guys at Birdsong did a wonderful job refinishing my (formerly) beater pre B. This thing looked like hell before they got a hold of it.
  20. I mainly use the mecgar 17's, but do have a couple 16's with the rubber CZ base pads that I like as well. I only use the SP-01 mags for dry fire as I somehow have a knack for disassembling them during reloads.
  21. How much was involved to get a TS slide racker sight on a Shadow slide? I looked at mine once and it looked like the TS sight could possibly interfere with the hammer.
  22. I have a 550, it was my first press. It is pretty easy to learn on and after doing it a while you'll develop a feel for what it is supposed to feel like and the sounds that are normal. I like it. Caliber changes are quick and easy once you do the initial set up, provided you buy extra tool heads and the like. That being said, I look at 650's and 1050's every time they come up for sale as factoring in my time cost on the 550, im probably not saving any money vs buying ammo.. but I am getting bunny fart loads that make minimum pf. That being said, I'll probably eventually wind up with one of the big boys setup for 40 and do 9mm and 45 on the 550. Im not in any particular hurry to do it, but wouldn't hesitate if the right deal presented itself. I don't think I'd approach it any different if I were to go back and do it all over again. I definitely do not feel like the 550 is too complicated a machine to get running right for a new reloader. I'd have lost my sanity and bailed on reloading if I'd have started with a single stage.
  23. I think, for whatever reason, it is mag dependent. Of the 5 9mm mags I have, only 3 will load to 20 and I'll give you a dollar if you can fit more than 19 in the other two. I have dented rounds with my uplula trying to cram them in, left them loaded, everything... just not happening..
