  1. Where did you pick up a UB magwell? I'v been looking for one. czusa looks like their site is down or im having IT issues, but here's the link https://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/203047000002_Czechmate-Aluminum-Magwell
  2. I went with the CZUB Czechmate magwell so that I could use the factory baseplates without modifying them.
  3. All I know is that the two guns that Roy has built for himself and ultimately sold have been absolutely gorgeous. This one and his 1911. I hate that I wasn't in a position to buy either of them. My question related to this build is whether that bevel on the mag well is legal for uspsa production, because I would love to do that to my transitional pre b, but don't want to turn it into a limited minor gun. The only mention I see of anything similar is the size restrictions in relation to the magazine itself, but nothing specifically allowing or prohibiting this modification. Does anybody else have a take on whether this is production legal?
  4. First thing I did when I got mine was put aluminum grips on it, then went to the VZ's, wound up back at the stock rubber grips, as they wound up fitting me the best. I agree, they are awesome.
  5. Hacksaw and a file. Took forever
  6. "He" never adds classes to the schedule .... you decide you want to host a class at your range and you bring him out ... Roger that
  7. Any idea what sight it is? My TS came with a fixed sight. I used to have a Colt Gold Cup that had a pin that would walk out on it. It was apparently a fairly common problem on the Bomar sights they used. Colt sent me a new roll pin and it fixed the problem until it broke again.
  8. Ha! Lee is probably familiar with that trigger.
  9. I want the large frame, full dust cover, stock sights, and TS magazines... the CTS LS-P is not that.
  10. I said the same thing and I'm a CZ nut. more weight on the slide, less on the frame? seems backwards to me. if it weighed the same like a g17vs34 it would make way more sense. I'd shove all in for a production legal Tac Sport.
  11. Thanks for the advice, folks.
  12. It's not a big deal as long as it isn't an issue to the operation of the pistol. I'm righty and don't use the safety, which is probably why I've never noticed it. I do know that the right side safety on my TS doesn't exhibit this trait because I do use that safety.
  13. Thanks for the info guys. So there's no risk in running it like it is?
  14. I'd read some posts on that situation researching this. It could have been like this all along and I never noticed it. I'll see if it moves when I pull the trigger and check for the detent and report back, tomorrow, time permitting.
  15. I'll check in the morning. Is it on the outside of the frame or the interior? I can't tell from the schematic.
  16. Just noticed this while changing the grips and dry firing. Safety engages fine from the left side, but it has plenty of slop in the right side. I.e. I can push it almost to on without the left side moving. I don't foresee myself ever using the right side safety. So how do I tighten this up? Or is it an issue or could it cause issues if I do nothing about it? I've searched and haven't found the answer to this particular issue. Thanks in advance for your time.
  17. How do you like the KJW hi-capa? Has it been a decent gun?
  18. Same from a 6'5" 260 lb guy with a 500+ lb double overhand deadlift. Grip strength is certainly not my problem, but I have been unable to figure out the technique on my own.
  19. Hi tha1000... how are you liking the Mink SP-01? Have you shot a comparable CZC or CGW varient? Just curious and thanks! It's pretty freakin awesome. I've never shot a CGW or CZC sp-01. DA/SA is about 6lb/2lb on it and it's as smooth as glass. Single action is very crisp, no creep, very little take up or over travel. I'm yet to really put it through the paces as I am not shooting USPSA right now and I REALLY love my Tactical Sport. I bought it used and the only thing I'd do different if I were ordering it myself would be to have a different trigger. It has the black sp-01 trigger, which is a bit more curved than I like. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I'd probably rather the 85 style trigger instead.
  20. Roger that. I have a Mink built SP-01, but wouldn't mind picking one of these up to tinker with. Thanks for the info.
  21. Yeah. I'm not talking out the box, I'm talking about gutting it and replacing parts like a czc, automatic accuracy, or CGW built gun. Just wondering if it's doable to get it as nice as a worked over shadow, considering the base gun is a couple hundred cheaper than a base 75 shadow. Will most of the 75 guts work on it?
  22. So, can you get the trigger on an 85 Combat as good as the trigger on a Shadow?
  23. I'm operational again with an upgraded polycarbonate nozzle and guts and an extra power spring. Will put it through the paces in the morning.
  24. Only mods to mine are CZC thin aluminum grips filed down to fit with the OEM magwell and a stainless steel guide rod. A CZUB Czechmate magwell is on my list of stuff to buy because I like the option of running the mags with the factory baseplates as its mainly a steel challenge gun. I have big hands, so no desire to reduce the grip... possibly undercut the trigger guard at some point, but it shoots great as it is. It's very much ready to run right out the box. I love the factory sights, poa=poi for my reloads, line up quick, doubles as a slide racker... IMO, they're one of the best features on a pretty amazing gun..
