Any hands-on reviews of the new 2.0 model? Thinking of grabbing one as I need a timer anyway, and since my most frequent range is the local indoor range, having the accelerometer is my only viable option for doing meaningful speed training.

I imagine he was referring too new at USPSA if you're having trouble interpreting scores. Although you clearly mentioned that you've never shot in this discipline before, so it's understandable. But yes, you'll have to do the mental calculations/filtering to remove all MINOR category shooters, then compare all Open vs Limited shooters. Unfortunately Practiscore doesn't have deep data analysis or filtering capabilities online. If you wanted to actually compute differences, you could theoretically copy and paste the results tables from a bunch of matches into Excel and then do as much data analysis as you like.

Actually thinking of using this event as an excuse to finally buy one. Actually would have preferred to get a VEPR/PTR/FAL or other non-AR rifle, but I'm (unfortunately) moving to MD in 2 weeks and almost everything is on the ban list. Stupid laws. I've got a line on an ACOG with the M203 .308 reticle, can probably get it for a great price. $650ish. Just trying to decide if I want to go that route or a more traditional option. I have a Strike Eagle on my 3gun AR and I've never felt like it's held me back, but then again, I've never used a high end (Razor HD, Kahles, Swaro, etc) scope so I don't really know what I'm missing. I'm pretty sure ignorance is bliss

I'm getting super excited for this. Hope this is isn't considered a thread jack, but if I wanted to shoot an AR-10 (I'm a glutton for punishment), what sort of optic would be best? A conventional 3 gun scope like a variable 1-4 or 1-6? Or would something like an ACOG be better?

Actually not too good for pocket carry. The angle on the cord pulls the gun around and rotates it inside your pocket so it no longer is convenient to get a good grip. Remember, the gun will try to hang from the cord, "upside down" because it wants to hang from the attachment point like a plumb-bob. For on body carry, the only real good way to use it is "mexican carry" but it's not secure and with even a little bit of movement, (for me at least) it tends to fall out. I like the MIC for nightstand duty, dropping a loaded gun in a backpack or other off body carry options, etc.

I've got a bunch of Glock gear for sale in Classifieds right now. Including a dot and Carver mount to turn your limited gun into an Open gun (and some compensators to go with your threaded barrel). And a glockstore pyramid trigger. Bunch of other stuff too.

Ah, interesting. I never thought of that. I only thought of the grip itself in my hand, not how the grip interrelates with the rest of the controls. Great point. Shouldn't be an issue for me though. Looking forward to some new grips!

Just making sure. It wouldn't be the first time I checked the rule book before performing a mod, appeared that I was ok, then found out later that I'd wasted some money on something that\'s actually illegal. Also, side note: why would thinner grips be an advantage? My preference is for thicker grips. I've got huge hands (XL or XXL gloves, usually).

Are there any conflicts with the smooth thumb relief on his grips and staying legal in Production?

Not sure how this plays out with CA legality, but if you have a good relationship with a FFL.... maybe you can just buy any CORE from anywhere in the US, have it shipped to the FFL, you take possession of the slide, then sell the frame online (here or any other forum, to be shipped back out of CA), and your FFL boxes up and ships the frame out. You never take possession of the actual firearm, so it seems like that should all be fine and dandy.

Not the mount height. The turret height. The turret is the little adjustment knob on the top of the optic.

If anyone is curious, I emailed them yesterday about adding CZ guns to their lineup and they responded " yes the CZ line of pistols are on the drawing board but as of now we don't have a scheduled release date."

Red Hill Tactical and We Are Nerd both have kydex holsters specific for 3 gun. Nerd will even refund your match fees if you get DQed due to your gun falling out of their holster.

Any preference on turret height? Low (403GL) or regular (403G)?

I don't know the rules for swapping parts well enough to be certain, so I'll avoid that question, but as for your mags - Yeah, there is no reason to spend more on higher capacity magazines if they are for shooting Production only. I shoot a SP-01 as well and have a box full of 10 round mags. I have a couple standard capacity magazines as well that I use for other things (e.g. tactical classes, 3 gun) but the 10 rounders are fine for USPSA.

It definitely doesn't work for me. I find that you have to reach down, overshoot beyond the rearmost magazine, then reverse directions and come back forwards to grasp it. With conventional loading, as you reach down, the magazine itself provides the hand-stop so don't waste any additional motion. It also is a bit of a strain on my shoulder, but maybe yours is more flexible? Grabbing from the front provides the same benefit of clearing the mag and making room for the next grab. It's just reversed. Just run a bunch of different configurations on a timer and see what's actually faster. Although if you're biomechanically/medically limited, then obviously choose the one that's most comfortable and enjoyable.

I've only had my gun fall once. The 4 little screws holding my Ghost holster on to the belt all managed to vibrate themselves loose and the holstered gun fell to the ground. It happened while walking back to the firing line after going through my targets and scoring. I raised my hand, called over the RO, he picked it up, handed it to me, and thanked me for not touching it after it fell or he would have had to DQ me. Unfortunately, my match was over for the day anyway - couldn't find 2 of the 4 screws so I had no functioning holster. Luckily there was only 1 stage left.

The term chupchick is a modern Hebrew word which is a catch-all phrase for a thing which you are trying to describe but don't know the proper term. It is also the term for an apostrophe used to create a contraction (i.e. don't, but in Hebrew). It is pronounced CHOOP-chick. It's a pretty hand word to have

You probably could improve your grip strength, but regardless, it's still hard. And you have to rack with the hammer down, which makes it even harder. It probably isn't so bad if you're already fully cocked and in SA. And the 85C has no front serrations, which makes it even harder. The SP-01 has front serrations, but they're set slightly far back on the slide to be truly useful.

CZ Kadet upper on any 75B lower. Parts are readily available, threaded barrels also readily available. You could buy a $275 surplus 75B, a Kadet upper for $350, and have another ~$350 to spend with CGW or CZC to clean it up, replace any worn parts, new coating, and slick up the trigger. And if you need a bigger budget, you can sell the slide from the 75B and probably recoup $150-$200, depending on what condition its in.
