At our club the majority are red dot's...I still shoot irons but with a fiber optic front. The best times are almost always the folks shooting 22 carbines with red dots. I'm happy to make middle of the pack given that I started only a couple of years ago and have aging eyes (and other body parts ).

Speaking from experience, the one that you didn't shoot...yet .

Another +1 for inline fabrication and another don't bother with the bullet feeder. Love the press - reload 9; 45; 357; 30.06 & 308

I use an air compressor vacuum - Grizzly T23090 for about $25 from Amazon. This way I don't have to worry about static, whether I'm picking up powder or primers. Only downside is that you do need about 90PSI to get sufficient vacuum.

Based solely on what I've used: 1. N320 2. N340 3. 231 4. Accurate #5 5. Power Pistol 6. Bullseye

Has anyone heard about whether these folks will/when they might sell product? I like the idea but it's been a (long) while since they originally announced it.

While not my favorite it was about the only powder for 9 that I could find recently. Don't want to get into providing load data, but under a 125gr RN coated bullet (the blue bullets) I am getting an average of 1,040 fps out of my Glock 17 (no porting, no comp). This is with a mid-range charge from the Hornady guide.

9, 357, 44 & 45 until the brass 'dies'. Rifle (30 cal) gets 5 reloads max. as most of it is for a Garand. Except for the 44 nothing is loaded hot...the 44 is at max. to shoot through my fun gun (Desert Eagle).

FWIW - I found that when it really starts to get cold in the PNW that a Zippo style (uses lighter fluid) hand warmer provides more, consistent heat than the disposable ones. Anytime that I'm at a match in the cold I use one of them in each of my pockets. Stays very warm for at least 6 hours.

I use their paddle for both my G17 & my 1911.

I like N320 but have used N340, Blue Dot, Bullseye, AA#5, Power Pistol and others.

After de-prime/re-size I just run them in my ultrasonic cleaner to get the wax off and cleans the pockets a bit too. FWIW -- I also clean the cases initially in my U/S before resizing. Just finished a hair over a 1,000 of 9's running about 300/batch. Once cap of the Hornday cleaner and didn't change solution. I have enough brass always ready where waiting for it to dry is no big deal. If I didn't already have the U/S (and weren't "thrifty" as well) I would use the steel pins.

While I understand the benefits of a single platform I enjoy variety and personally prefer a larger group of guns to choose from for both range fun as well as competition. But then again I don't take the competition part as seriously as a lot of others,
-
I prefer a single combo per caliber so that I can buy more in bulk and not have to load develop & chrono all of the time. Unfortunately, the various shortages had kept me moving between different combinations of components. I finally have enough components to last for about 6 months so can settle in once again.

They had a limited trial eval available that I tried...it worked well even on an older laptop. I just couldn't bring myself to buy it though -- I guess I'm just a little cheap. It wasn't the software license cost but that to use it effectively I would also have needed a training gun in both Glock & 1911 styles so that I wouldn't have to rack the slide/re-cock the trigger. For initial draw/1st shot no problem...but tough to work on splits that way. As an FYI I already had a laser catridge for my firearms and the application itself worked well...it did prefer a not overly bright room.

I just received 3,600 of the 9's and inside of the shipping box it was packed 1,200 to a box and within each of the boxes was a well sealed bag. The 3 boxes were also taped to a top & bottom piece of cardboard as well as to each other and a Styrofoam block which was a spacer. I do agree that the 250 sample packs (received before) leave a lot to be desired in terms of packing.

Personally I wouldn't bother -- you're going to be expanding the case mouths anyway prior to seating the bullets. If you're concerned then maybe camfer & debur the edge. I only do this for rifle and new 44 mag cases after resizing & trimming.

I use it mostly for 9 but have used it for 45. Yes it is louder and more flash but I do find that it burns cleanly when it's at least to mid-range on the load. Currently using it with coated lead 9's (125gr) and pushing them to just over 1,000fps. I find this to be a fairly 'soft' feeling load. On my LNL press it meters very consistently .

I use The Blue Bullets in 125gr RN...shoot great, good price, no leading. Running these with Power Pistol in a G17.
-
Thanks...I hadn't noticed any burrs but polishing them shouldn't hurt anything. I'll give that a shot as soon as the rain lets up. My MG's feed perfectly...just want to get the Blue's to run through without screwing up the feeding of the MG's.
-
What issues did you have and how did you overcome them? The only thing that I can see doing is to dremel out the collets a bit.
-
Did you have to adjust the Hornady bullet feeder die (9mm)? I love the blue bullets but having problems with them feeding through the die. I hate to adjust the collets as they work perfectly with my jacketed (MG) bullets and am considering either buying another collet set to "adjust" or getting the die for a Mr Bullet Feeder as that it reported to work with lead as well as jacketed bullets.

I received an e-mail from The American Marksman (http://www.theamericanmarksman.com) for processed 45ACP brass at a great price but have never heard of them. Anyone buy from them and if so, what was your experience & product quality?
