  1. I've used and been happy with my ProChrono...until I shot it . Will probably replace it with same model as it does everything I need it to do other than deflect bullets. I chrono loads from about 10 ft away and use a tripod.
  2. So...other than not shooting too low , any recommendations for chrono's with separate electronics/displays since I'm sure that this won't be the only one I kill. I'd like to keep the cost reasonable as I only need it a few times/year and I have to be able to chrono semi-auto handguns primarily.
  3. I have a Para Target Elite and run the CMC's as well...very happy with them.
  4. Love the MG's -- I have used them in 9, 357, 44 & 45. Now switching to the Blue Bullets (coated lead) - cheaper, lighter charges and just as accurate. Only downside I have come across is that won't work in my bullet feeder dies (diameter for lead bullets) unless I modify the dies.
  5. I use one-shot in the baggie method and then roll the finished rounds in a large shop rag -- cleans the rounds more than good enough for me and only takes a few seconds.
  6. Thanks...not looking forward to it but at least they caught it early.
  7. Glad to hear that...at 55 my PSA went up from 3.9 to 5.5 to 7.0. The first change was between annual checkups and the second 3 months later. Nothing in the exams but the biopsy found some. No symptoms at all. Will be starting treatment next week.
  8. I didn't start any shooting until I was 53 and didn't compete until 55.
  9. I'm quite happy with mine. Only problem that I had with the case feeder was with feeding 357 brass -- that was solved when they sent me a newer (I had mine for a couple of years) case feeder (for free - the WHOLE assembly) that was redesigned. It also reduced the times that it did 'rain' with 9mm cases. The primer feeding problems that I had were always related to powder getting into the primer slide and under the primer ram. When I kept the press very clean there weren't any problems - this meant blowing any powder out every couple of hundred loads. About a month ago I contacted them about getting a replacement for the spring on the primer slide and was chatting with the rep...they had a newer design for the primer ram that had no lip on it. He sent me a large & small primer version and since I started using these I haven't had any problems at all unless I had a significant amount of powder that got into the slide area.
  10. I've got mild asthma and you might be having a problem due to a combination effect...I know that when I'm exposed to irritants and also have stress/anxiety then a reaction is sometimes triggered whereas the irritant by itself won't bring it on. Same thing happens when I'm exposed to something that I have an allergy to, it can bring on my asthma. If you have any pollen allergies then pretreatment with an antihistamine can help. Also +1 on asking your doctor for an inhaler to take prior to having an attack. fwiw I've never had a problem with gunsmoke.
  11. Amazon due to tie in with shipping. then play on for everything else.
  12. we had a Chevy avalanche that we loved and only got rid of it due to needing more towing capacity. drives like a car and has secured bed.
  13. Just tried the 9mm/125 RN and they shot great. Quite soft considering I was using Power Pistol. 4.6 gave me 1,040 fps out of my Glock 17. I'll be ordering these as my go to bullets for 9 and will be trying 45's later on.
  14. I was wrapping up the 8th string (10 shots per) while doing some load testing and was just a bit too low : The good news was that it was pretty much centered horizontally. The bad news was that I hadn't recorded any of my results . FYI -- 9mm that destroyed the circuit board & the display.
  15. Blue Bullets 125gr RN Glock 17 PP 4.6 1,040 FPS Much, much softer than when I was running MG RN 115's with PP 6.0 @ 1,200 FPS
  16. 380 isn't any harder than 9mm...I don't reload 380 but have accidently tried to reload a few while doing my 9's
  17. Mine's working fine (9mm, 357mag, 45acp, 44mag, 30.06, 308). I spent the morning loading 9's and only had 1 case tip (as it came to the shell plate) out of about 1,000 rounds loaded.
  18. I have the Hornady LNL-AP and am happy with it. When I purchased it I picked it over the Dillon only because my net $ was considerably less considering the #of pistol & rifle calibers I would be loading (3xpistol & 2xrifle).. From reviews it also seemed that the powder dispenser was 'better'. If I had to do it all again I would still choose the Hornady (same reasons) but would omit the bullet feeder. It's too noisy and instead I would just use the bullet feeder dies with some tubes for feeding.
  19. Another +1 for Pro Chrono - cheap & works & won't break the bank when you -- and you will someday -- hit it.
  20. What computer configuration (PC & web cam) has worked for you with the software (L.A.S.R.)? Also, has anyone tried either of the 2 free versions that I found on the net: ShootOFF or hit Analyzer ?
  21. I'd better ask my Glock why it has fed my last 10,000+ reloads without complaining .
  22. I like the Microsoft Surface RT -- cheaper than full-blown and comes with Office (except for Access). We use it for movies, browsing, books (Nook & Kindle).
  23. 2nd press isn't an option until my better half's memory fades on the last pistol purchase
  24. So, for the past 1,500+ rounds of 9mm everything has been running great -- including the case feeder & bullet feeder (LNL). No raining brass, cases not tipping over, no major stoppages, etc. But, I am out of N340 and I am low on 45's and so need to change up for another caliber. Not that it's a problem or very time consuming but I hate it when the press is running perfectly and I have to switch everything over to another caliber.
  25. It was better than I expected...I'm not a big fan of Tom Cruise.
