  1. I didn't read your question carefully enough, you mentioned a Gold Team barrel/comp, but I thought you were referring to this three port comp from Eric's webstore. The current "V12" Gold Team pistols are 1/4" shorter than your Limited, so the barrel/comp assembly from a Gold Team will not fit in your Limited slide, only a Stock I/II slide. You don't really want a Gold Team barrel anyway, this 6" barrel can be threaded to accept the comp above.

  3. Not drop in, but it's possible: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=194321&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1
  4. I'm convinced the "waiting" feeling is the time it takes to get the front sight back on target due to slide weight, spring choice and firing pin stop angle.
  5. I was referring to the energy the bullet transfers to the steel popper
  6. Miranda, There's a lot more going on when a pistol fires than just energy and momentum; there are two different things being talked about here: recoil impulse and "knock down" power. The first is effected by slide velocity, spring weights, slide stop angles, frictional forces, momentum of moving parts, centers of gravity, etc., the second is heavily dependent on how much energy the bullet can transmit into the target, which is effected bullet weight, composition, the amount of shrapnel, sound, heat, etc.
  7. That's right Rancher, although finding another 9mm "factory ammo" barrel might be difficult (I looked for years aand the closest I got was Gump's 38 barrel), but fortunately with the 4.5" V12 slide you can use the 4.75" barrel from a Match or Limited Pro combined with the V8 factory 3 port comp with the first port opened up to meet the crown of the barrel. That setup plus two holes straight up and angled slightly back would be awesome!
  8. It would take a whole case full under a 124, but I think you could sqeek out a major load with 3n38 in a 9mm V12. Maybe 9.5-10gn
  9. 115s will have significantly more snap and felt recoil, try a shooter's calculator to compare the muzzle energy between the two.
  10. I am fully aware of this situation and voluntarily pay my membership dues, this is my definition of "right"
  11. This is it right here! http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=225124#entry2508621 CZ Tactical Sport with holster and mags for $900.
  12. If you're not going to reload don't bother with the comp.
  13. David is a very good guy, if you contact him in a non-accusatory way I wouldn't be surprised if he sent you another.
  14. I always take them right out of the bag and install them, more often than not they don't need anything.
  15. You would have to trim the barrel ~1/8" to use the three port comp with the GT barrel, I've never tried to remove a factory comp but I've heard they don't come off easy.
  16. I have first hand experience with a 9mm V12: 8.3gr HS6 under a 124gr Xtreme made 164pf for me. I've heard others say they've made major with less than 8gr so maybe I'm crazy.
  17. Distribution may be different in Italy, I've never bought a Tanfo in the US which came with more than one mag.
  18. I've never used it, but I think True Blue is the slowest of what you have, the rest are relatively fast as far as Open powders go. I like HS6 and 3N38.
  19. $800 could buy a lot of custom work on this Limited: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=526343621
  20. The old reliability issues came from the old style 9mm mags which had a spacer in the front and didn't run at all; the new style 9mm mags have a spacer in the rear and run like a top. No problems with 38 super. Like was mentioned above the 12 holes in the barrel bleed a lot of gas so major PF ammo is tough on the V12 guns. It's possible to make major in the 9mm V12, albeit with a smaller selection of powder/bullets. I owned a 9mm V12 GT, but I much prefer my Limited based custom:
  21. The Gold Team comp is designed to slide inside the frame rails of a full dust cover frame. The one pictured above came from the factory with the short dust cover because it's an IFG imported Limited. The shortest dust cover saves ~2.3oz over the full DC.
  22. Correct, it's too short for a Limited slide; it drops in a Stock I/II slide.
