  1. I've just gotten my methodology dialed in with my slow mo videos shooting 720p at 240fps and I can almost guarantee your dot leaves the glass when shooting major PF ammo from a 9mm V12 GT. I have plans to post some in depth comp comparisons within the next few months and I'll show you what I'm talking about.
  2. The beginning of flat Larry? Are you saying you shoot an Open gun where the dot doesn't leave the glass? If so I'd love to see pictures/videos.
  3. Yes, the followers are the same for CZ/small frame Tanfo. I don't know about the 20 rounder, but the 32 doesn't use a basepad like we're used to.
  4. Yes, I made a big stick using a 32 round CZ75 ProMag cut to length and a 13 coil CZC spring/follower; holds 28+1
  5. That's not an unheard of spread. A number of factors could be at play: are you using mixed brass? How many charges to you drop before making a test batch? Bullet shape inconsistency causes variances in seating depths causing higher pressures; fast powder and heavy bullets are espescially susceptible to this.
  6. I'd believe TiN coating will make a barrel smoother/faster, but that seems like a lot, how big was your sample size? Did you load those rounds at the beginning or end of a session? My KKM barrel is slower than my Schumann.
  7. The 75B comes with the middle one, I think you'd really like the one on the left.
  8. The Shadow and the 75B frames are the same size, the tolerance stacking on different combinations of parts could account for the difference; a different trigger could be the reason as well. CZ has three basic DA trigger shapes: the SP01, the "new style" and the "old style" (shortest reach to longest) I tell people with reach issues to switch to the SP01 trigger:
  9. I'm always interested in shedding weight from my steel Open guns and the guide rod is low hanging fruit.
  10. CZs use plastic guide rods, aluminum will be fine.
  11. That's a fantastic idea! For whatever reason all the black Cheely mounts I've owned stripped out immediately, but the silver ones have been fine; four screws for all!
  12. I'm pretty sure the comps are silver soldiered on at the factory, making they nearly impossible to remove without destroying the comp although I could be wrong as I haven't tried to remove one. I use a fresh 6" barrel with a new cone comp, cut it to length, thread it, then attach the comp with red Loctite. I think the three port is an improvement over the two port, I have a custom Limited with the three port comp and three 5/32" holes I'm getting ready to shoot for the first time so stay tuned
  13. No just like 40 major feels different with 200s vs 165s, major with 115s is significantly sharper than major with 180s. The lighter the bullet, the higher the energy at the same PF.
  14. I had a cracked comp fly off during a stage and I finished without it, the recoil was a little nasty, but it didn't hurt anything. The gun was a small frame Tanfoglio with a compact slide and a 4" barrel, the load was 7.3gr WAC under a 124gr. The comp dissipates some energy before the slide unlocks, so without a comp I would expect accelerated wear on the barrel lugs, maybe a cracked slide. Although if a gun can handle 357SIG it should handle 9 Major all the same.
  15. Long extension on an SP01 tube gets 25 with a Grams spring/follower.

I'm pretty sure they were custom made.
  17. So you can make the angle, if I have a chance I'll take a picture.
  18. A straight sided guide rod wedges between the lower lug of the barrel and the guide rod tunnel on a long slide.
  19. I've heard of 25-26 in a 40 big stick, should be the same for 357 SIG. When going from 9 Major to 357 SIG you get more case capacity at the expense of magazine capacity, but with 38 SC you get both. The only question is what do you want to do with more capacity? In a 5" barrel you can only use so slow a powder and still burn a reasonable share of the charge.
