  1. Hmmm, none of the retailers ship to AK?
  2. The adjustable should make that up.
  3. It's funny you ask Eric, of the most recent group I would say yours shot the softest The McLearn was a close second, but that may be due to the fact it weighs a ton! The firing pin stop didn't drop into with of my guns, so I'll need to fit it, but I'm excited to try. What I'd really love to try is the Eric comp in a cone to fit my Tanfoglio made from aluminum or titanium with two 3/16" holes angled back 10 degrees. Want to cut one for me Eric?
  4. That's a good idea, I'll try no comp next time The test mule has no ports in the barrel and I know Akai uses that comp with lots of ports (6-8). When I had that comp on my short 38 with two holes it definitely shot softer/flatter at major velocity (maybe lower muzzle pressure?).
  5. If the barrel locks up tight when in battery (doesn't move when you push down on the hood), I'd say just get another front sight. Use the calculator on the Dawson Precision website to figure out what size you need and let me know, I probably have what you need
  6. Powder Valley has AA#7, AA#9, Longshot and Vihtavuori powders in stock: http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/
  7. Next time I'll film the other side so better shooters can take a look at my support grip. I know I'm not managing recoil as well as I should be able to. I'm not as strong as I once was but I can still close #2 CoC so I would imagine strength is the issue. Eric also gave me a radically angled firing pin stop I plan to try in concert with new springs. I bought all my 2011s used, so I don't actually know what weight springs are in them.
  8. I also made a new video with my CFD gun locking my left wrist down at an exaggerated angle, it might have shot 1/2 a square flatter, but I'm not sure I could keep it up for a whole stage:
  9. Honestly I don't think many people reducing slide weight put much thought into it besides aesthetics, I know I didn't the first time. This thread by CHA-LEE really resonated with me: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=183028&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1 Also, Tanfo slides cut for LPA rear sights don't have as much metal in the rear as a 1911 to begin with.
  10. The TS is slightly wider, but with thin grips it will get you there. The Limited has way sharper checkering, the TS is very waffle iron. Here's my full comparison:
  11. I shot a match using 100gr bullets at about 150pf and it dropped poppers like rocks, they should be calibrated to fall with 115s at 125 pf, so it shouldn't be a problem.
  12. Kingman, is that using 115s or 124s?
  13. If you have a comp you might as well use it! This means using the slowest powder you can get your hands on (and cycle the gun of course). 112gr is the lightest bullet allowed for major, but for minor you can use 95/100gr 380 pills, which shoot very soft and flat under a large charge of slow powder. I would look for some HS6, HS7, Longshot, AA7, Blue Dot, N105. Lil Gun is probably too slow to cycle the gun. With any of those you're going to be loading 8-9gr of powder and making lots of gas.
  14. It's already in my queue of experiments
  15. Yes, frame rate is where it's at in slow mo. I'm shooting 240fps and you'll notice the my videos are like stop frame animation because you're looking at the same frame for a few beats. I looked at some bullet impact stuff and it was filmed at 40K frames per second!
  16. That would be pretty cool, maybe down the line I can figure out how to cover my left eye with the camera, or maybe shoot just under the camera as it looks through the lens at my eye.
  17. The mags work really well right out of the box, coming from 2011 you will be pleased Which caliber are you considering? The V12 takes ~10% more powder than most full sized Open guns to make major, so in 9mm wear can be an issue.
  18. Yes on both counts. I opened up the first port on the factory three port to 0.355".
  19. Yes, it's on my agenda. The gun with the Cheely comp has a 5.4" barrel w/o holes, so I plan to use it as a test mule. I've posted video of it with the Cheely comp and AZone, future videos will feature the Akai, CFD, McLearn, Benny Hill, Thundercomp II, and Eric's comp.
