1.160"-1.170" with RN bullets works in all my chambers, non of which have been reamed, however, I just bought a bunch of MG JHP in 115 and 124 which can't load longer 1.135" in any of my chambers. I actually chrono'ed some short loads which worked out pretty well; 7gr of HS6 under a 124gr MG JHP @ 1.118" made 171pf in my Tanfoglio with a 5.2" barrel and no holes although the same load only made 160 and 164 in my two full sized 2011s, one with two holes and the other with none. If you stretch out the OAL to 1.160" it takes another half grain of powder to make the same PF. In compensated guns the consensus is more powder, more gas, flatter gun, but if I can use the same powder charge with a lighter bullet seated deeper I can't imagine the gun shooting worse... At some point I'd like to do some tests to that effect.
