  1. As long as I don't run the press like a drunken sailor I don't spill with over 9gr of SP2 in each case.

It would require a custom cone to fit SP01s, Shadows and TSs The TS barrel is 0.6" longer than the SP01/Shadow barrels and fits in those slides
  3. 1.160"-1.170" with RN bullets works in all my chambers, non of which have been reamed, however, I just bought a bunch of MG JHP in 115 and 124 which can't load longer 1.135" in any of my chambers. I actually chrono'ed some short loads which worked out pretty well; 7gr of HS6 under a 124gr MG JHP @ 1.118" made 171pf in my Tanfoglio with a 5.2" barrel and no holes although the same load only made 160 and 164 in my two full sized 2011s, one with two holes and the other with none. If you stretch out the OAL to 1.160" it takes another half grain of powder to make the same PF. In compensated guns the consensus is more powder, more gas, flatter gun, but if I can use the same powder charge with a lighter bullet seated deeper I can't imagine the gun shooting worse... At some point I'd like to do some tests to that effect.
  4. LOL, indeed! What are you looking for? there's all kinds of load data in this thread. OAL is up to your barrel and preferred bullet type, but if you tell me which bullet, powder, OAL, barrel length and number of holes for most powders I can give a charge weight within a few tenths.
  5. The checker board says they're exactly the same
  6. I did three more videos today (CFD comp with trigger fixed), A Zone comp, A Zone comp with support index finger wrapped around the trigger guard: I paid close attention to locking my support wrist and it felt flatter, but the video shows it to be about the same The trigger guard wrap didn't seem to change much for me either.

I'll be cutting this barrel to fit: http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/0420649201_Barrel-6--9mm and a friend wants to make a custom Ti cone comp. That barrel has a 12.75mm OD as opposed to the 14mm OD of the TS barrel which will save me 0.8oz in the weight of the barrel; the goal is to be 2-3 ounces lighter (mostly in the nose) than the Czechmate and 1/2" longer.
  8. I know you're big on grip strength Charlie, have you ever tried the Captains of Crush? I'm quite a bit weaker than my wresting days, but I can still close a #2 pretty easy in both hands, so I don't think grip strength is the issue.
  9. That's pretty amazing Charlie, I think I need to work on spring selection. What weight hammer spring and recoil spring are you using there?

I was feeling inspired this morning and photoshoped this idea for a TS based Open gun. I haven't decided on a design for the comp yet, or decided if it will have holes in the barrel, but it will be my longest one yet with at least a 5 1/2" barrel and massive Ti comp.
  11. The CMore Side Ride is the only way to go if you want my opinion, they're ~$220 new. Big glass, durable, and mounted horizontally the glass is right on top of the slide.

If you don't reload don't bother with the comp, just slap on a dot and have fun! Seriously: a comp does nothing with factory ammo.
  13. With that being said, unless you get a great deal on a GT, you come out way ahead customizing a Limited. I'm really enjoying my latest one
  14. In general I prefer 9 to 38 just because I hate keeping track of my brass, but in a V12 shooting major I say go with the 38. You have to push the 9 pretty hard to make major with all those holes and it's very hard on the lugs.
  15. They hang off the back of the frame, I guess you could trim them.
  16. Jared, I'm using a GoPro Hero 4 Black shooting 720p at 240fps. A friend helped me diagnose the trigger issue as the trigger bar dragging on the mag, I'll probably redo that video next session (I was flinching like crazy!).
  17. Did you get the Shadow to make weight?
  18. The first is a match barrel made by CZC and the second is a factory CZ barrel; I would expect the first to be a hair longer than the second, although not long enough to thread for a comp or suppressor, nor Production legal, so I don't really get the point...
  19. Garmil, stroking the Tanfoglios made them tangibly softer during recoil. The factory stroke of a CZ 75 pattern pistol is. 1.875" (both large and small frame) whereas the stroke of a 2011 is 2.115"; I've heard Akai strokes his 2011s somewhere between 0.200" and 0.400" although I don't have any first hand experience. For whatever reason I don't think a super long stroke works for CZ 75 pattern pistols, you can stroke a Hunter with a guide rod change. I shot my .40 Hunter with factory stroke, +0.134" and +~0.400" (I can't seem to find any notes and I sold that upper) and I remember the longest stroke feeling strange, like it was too much.
  20. I'm going to reserve judgement until I put them all over a chrono with that same load, but at the moment I think the chrome Tanfoglio feels the best. I also want to buy new springs for the 2011s, the bronze CFD gun had an awesome 17oz trigger for about 2K rounds then it started to slam fire so I tweaked the flat spring and screwed it all up; the pull is really inconsistent now and ~4lbs
  21. It's worth mentioning that both the Tanfoglios are stroked, the chrome one by 0.200" and the two tone by ~1.135". Clearly the CZ still needs work, it's not stroked, has a full weight slide and no holes in the barrel.
