  1. I am using the seekins adjustable block and have no complaints.
  2. I have 2 ar performance barrels (16 & 20 inch) and they are both accurate. The nitrided barrels are good looking and hard as hell ( making second dimple for gb) just need barrel, bolt and magazines. Mags are a little pricey.
  3. My nordic barrel will shoot a .330" group at 100 yards with my 69 grain handloads. I think good accuracy is the accumulated effect of great components put together correctly. A lot of barrels are capable of great accuracy but if they are mated with substandard parts and ammunition they won't shine. Jmho.
  4. A good way to remove leading is copper chore boy wrapped around a worn bore brush. I use it on my pistol barrels and it is quick and effective. Make sure it is the pure copper chore boy.
  5. I went strictly with plugs also. The ear muffs were fine for pistol but with rifle and shotgun they interfered with my cheek weld.

If you could just teach one to load your ammo. And maybe pick up your brass.
  7. I tried green, but I pick up red faster and it is also consistent with my scope and the fiber optic on my shotgun.
  8. All my dillon tool heads have enough space to move up and down slightly but no movement horizontally. This is I believe what the "floating tool head" refers to.
  9. I know right....like that a-shot?
  10. Reloading is enjoyable and gratifying. I have observed many rifle powders becoming available in a more sustained fashion, but pistol and shotgun powder is still spotty.
  11. The only part that I've had give out at a match is the extractor. Hook broke off in the middle of a stage.
  12. Agreed. If my powder hopper caught fire I don't think I'd be worried about the loctite on my micrometer. Lol
  13. If you load different charge weights or projectiles for multiple calibers you're going to love those. Easy to dial in your loads and tool less too.
  14. .400 to .405 seems like a pretty wide variance on caliber. What brand? Cast with lube band or coated?what part of the bullet has indentations?
  15. I don't have a complete list, but for some aftermarket goodies look up uniquetek.com I really like the powder bar micrometer.
  16. It's the dogs time so I do whatever she wants to do. I act as her entourage.
  17. I could definately feel a difference in recoil going from 5.3 grains of n320 with a jacketed 180 grain bullet to 4.8 grains of n320 with a 180 grain cast. Same oal, same primer and same velocity.
  18. Burris is a good value. You should be able to get into a m-tac and a good mount under 500.
  19. Sweet looking boom stick! Which optic or sights are you going with?

    6.8spc

I have two that I built from ar15 performance barrels. Ar15 performance barrels are melonited and both of mine are extremely accurate. From ar15 performance; The 6.8 The 6.8X43 was developed as an improved CQB cartridge by the 5th Group Special Forces. The devasting performance combined with the AR15 makes it the #1 choice of hog and deer hunters . It has apx 80% of the performance of the 308 in a much lighter platform. We have designed a 5 groove hybrid rifling similar to 5R with a low land to groove ratio to increase the bore area and lessen bullet deformation which leads to better accuracy. We have found that our 5R Melonite QPQ barrels consistently produce 60-90fps more than most SPCII 10 and 11 twist 4 groove barrels with the same loads. Hornady's 110gr HPBTs reach 2600fps from our 16" barrels and normally shoot under 3/4" groups at 100yds. With better shooters groups are near 1/2" so they shoot better than some high dollar stainless barrels and most match grade 5.56s . Hornady's 120gr SST and Federal's Fusion 115gr work very well on deer and hogs. With handloads it is possible to push a 100gr Nosler to 3000fps from a 16" barrel, nothing else with a 16" barrel comes close to the performance of a 6.8. The 4150 11595E steel Melonite(QPQ) treated barrels we sell will last twice as long as stainless barrels and the final finish meets or exceeds stainless steel corrosion resistance. Stainless barrels .980" in diameter do not meet the 2:1 burst/hoop strength safety ratio required by the firearms industry standards in anything larger than the 5.56. We only use the stronger 4150 11595 E barrel steel in all of our barrels. The 6.8SPCII and 6.8x43 we use shoot the same ammo including SSAs Tac loads and Wilson Combats ammo uses the same size dies, only the throat in the chamber is different. Brass is expensive and so is the ammo but with 110 vmax and h322 I get good velocity and tight groups. Enjoy
  22. I just finished the Going home trilogy by A.(Angery) American. It was a good read about post E.M.P aftermath. Some parts are a bit hokey but overall acceptable.
