  1. Very true--not to mention the fatigue factor. I know I would shoot Revo Nats better if it weren't the day after SS Nats. But I really like both divisions and would never willingly miss a Nats in either one.
  2. This is the point in the conversation where I ask what kind of reloading machine was used to make the ammo. The answer is almost invariably the same--a Dillon 550, which of course is not auto-indexing. While it is certainly possible to double-charge a case with any progressive press, the machines that auto-index make it far less likely.
  3. Milletts haven't been manafactured in some years. While I suppose there could be some "new old stock" Milletts sitting around here and there, I would be surprised if anyone has a meaningful quantity of them left.
  4. The Apex hammer does not employ a longer hammer throw or different geometry. I know Randy has experimented with that concept(a la Colt Python), but didn't go that route with the production part. You can confirm that with a side-to-side comparison with a stock hammer. The Apex hammer is not magical, it is a very nicely finished part that is simply lighter than the stock hammer.

  6. At the 2014 USPSA Nationals, 22 ladies competed in Open, 17 in Production, and 17 in Limited. Only 10 juniors competed in Open, 4 juniors in Production, and 4 juniors in Limited. Let those numbers sink in for a minute, folks. The extensive media coverage of our female and junior shooters is completely disproportionate to the actual participation numbers--which are very small.
  7. Seems like everybody is now stealing the concepts I stole from Randy Lee!
  8. The self-funded US Revolver teams have won every World Shoot team event in recent history! When I was named for the Revo team for the World Shoot in Greece, I wasn't even so much as offered a free shirt. In fact, the people at Tech-Wear even made me pay for a shirt that I never received when I was forced to back out due to work conflicts. Meanwhile, competitors in the sponsored teams were given $3000 apiece to help cover expenses. I acknowledge that Revo Division has far fewer shooters in the US. But there are more wheelgunners than ladies and juniors, by a good margin. Divisions should always receive support ahead of categories.
  9. Yes, but let's not forget that those are CATEGORIES. USPSA should field teams for all divisions (that are equivalent to IPSC Divisions) first and foremost--including Revolver Division--and only then consider whether resources are available for the various categories.
  10. And I stole it from David Olhasso, round and round it goes. And I think Dave stole it from me.
  11. Doug, you would seriously prefer to shoot that little junior rim-job match rather than the ICORE Regional?? You and the Greens need to straighten out your priorities, and step up to a man's game.
  12. Anything is possible. Are you going to get rid of whatever other plans you have and come over for the match, Dean?
  13. News developments: 2014 IRC Overall Champion Rich Wolfe will be competing again this year. And again, Rich has generously offered to hold an informal free walk-through clinic before the match starts on October 10. This is a great chance to meet Rich and pick his brain on stage strategy before shooting the match. Also: Bob Perdue, the "Mad Genius of Revolver Division," will be competing this year. As you all know, Bob is the mastermind behind the North Mountain Moonclip Holder.
  14. Anyone who wants to shoot Revo at Rio needs to sign up fast. They only allow a limited number of wheels to shoot with the staff on Thursday.
  15. Don't worry about shooting different divisions--I do, and it helps keep me interested in the game. Shooting is shooting!
  16. Match book with stage diagrams! Click here: http://www.ankenyikes.org/threads/2015-icore-midwest-regional-revolver-championship-open-registration.449/
  17. That actually happened to me at Area 3 last year--made me really re-think the whole interchangeable sight notion. In reality, most of us don't really need to interchange sights, just the fiber colors now and then.
  18. I would lose the C&S pin and dry-fire without any junk that could jam up the action.
  19. OK guys, attached are rough diagrams of the stages that have been approved for the Midwest Regional in October. The stage briefings are getting cleaned up by Dave Williams and will be published in final form in a couple weeks, but in the meantime I figured you guys might enjoy seeing them while still in their "cocktail napkin" phase of development. Note these diagrams are for general informational purposes only. We reserve the right to make minor (but diabolical) changes as we deem appropriate! Looks like the round count is about 247 for the 10-stage ICORE match, plus don't forget the "625 Cash Challenge" USPSA match on Sunday. Entries are coming in. Cliff Walsh has booked his trip--I believe this will be his first visit back to Iowa following the now-infamous "hot tub stage heard 'round the world." Apparently the statute of limitations for crimes against humanity has expired. Mike 2015 MW Regional rough stages.PDF
  20. None of those guys were in high school at the same time--they are in three different age brackets. By 1977, Wilson was already in the gun business, Leatham was just learning to drive, and Koenig was still a grade school kid.
  21. If Molly Smith can shoot her 627 in competition, I'm pretty sure everyone else can handle an N-frame.
