  1. That is the Board's call. (Nate is on the board, of course.)
  2. I was there. Paul Hyland's write-up was partially correct. Olhasso received a perfect double, and that call was protested--but it wasn't "the squad" who protested, it was one particular shooter. That situation, while an interesting side note, did not affect the ultimate match results.
  3. Fair enough. I will look forward to a PM on this. I am not aware of any issues.
  4. Matt has finished an extremely close second to Jerry at Nationals not once, but twice. I was squadded with them both years. What's all this about "not a clean race"? Please explain.
  5. Results are posted on Practiscore and the ICORE website. Same winners as last year: Open -- Rich Wolfe Limited -- Mike Carmoney Classic -- Troy Mattheyer Cliff Walsh won the USPSA 625 Challenge match on Sunday. Mike Carmoney won the high aggregate King of Revo trophy. The King is dead. Long live the King.
  6. It works anywhere the 625 works. I have one cut for clips and load 44 Russian. Meh....those thin, fragile moonclips do not work as well as .45 ACP moons.
  7. A frame is a gun, parts removed or not. Sending it as machine parts is a good way to get in some trouble. +1 And if lost or stolen, the carrier is not going to replace it. You're not going to get in trouble misrepresenting it to a common carrier like UPS or Fedex to avoid the overnight requirement--they just won't honor the insurance if it gets lost. But don't try to ship a handgun frame via USPS, that is a federal violation.
  8. Glad to see people are including a Pro-Am style stage in ICORE matches. To my knowledge, our Iowa matches were the first ICORE matches to incorporate such a stage--or were other clubs doing the same thing before us?
  9. Don't count on that, Ty. Start looking for cheap flights to Florida.Just sayin'......
  10. Dean, that's pretty much what we're doing next weekend in Ankeny--10 stages of ICORE on Saturday and 10 stages of USPSA on Sunday!
  11. I've heard Mike speak about L10 several times and he always says that is was a division created to solve a problem that no longer exists ... it's pretty obvious what he plans to do when he talks like that .... Not so simple though right? he will need majority of the board to go along with that decision to make it happen. Anyone have any idea if there is BOD support for removing it? I heard the podcasts too, he clearly wants to kill L10 and would probably kill revolver if he thought he could get it done but he also said based on sitting in on bod meetings that it is very clear the BOD is loathe to taking anything away from the membership. I think the rules or bylaws or something say they can only make one division change every 2 years? That 1 change will be the presumptive addition of carry optics/prod I would assume, but it will be a new el prez an partially new BOD making that vote which mike seems to also have disdain for so who knows. I am troubled by this post. I don't believe Mike Foley has ever said one word that suggests he would favor eliminating Revolver Division. That's fair, I never said it was a direct statement, it's just what I think which is worth nothing. I'm voting for Mike in any case. I personally don't believe any divisions including l10 will be eliminated. If you want to hear directly from Mike Foley how he views Revolver Division, the discussion starts at roughtly 59:00 in this podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXNJZz2IhKA (Spoiler: Mike is our friend, and strongly supports the future of the revolver in USPSA competition.)
  12. 2.5 million dryfires on your 625s? Jesus Christ dude......
  13. There is a lively thread discussing this match over on the Revolver Match Announcements sub-forum: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=206534 This is being posted here because it has come to our attention that many shooters are not aware of this match, as they may not frequent the BE Revolver forums. Bottom line: 10-stage ICORE match on Saturday, and a 10-stage USPSA match (all USPSA divisions welcome) on Sunday. Two separate matches, with bonuses for those running the wheel.
  14. You're not the only one. Urban legend.Talking about urban legends, I've heard of a guy who could get S&W triggers down to 4# reliably. Unfortunately I heard he doesn't take work anymore. You're definitely not talking about me, Fish. I never recommended going below 5.5 to 6 lbs. Too mushy.
  15. Lots of crazy myths in the shooting world. Unfortunately, gunwriters sometimes buy in to the BS and then it really takes off. The internet does not help. You still occasionally read that bobbing the hammer on a revolver can cause misfires.
  16. If you have trouble registering through Practiscore, let us know. They have been updating the system and it's sorta goofy right now. We're going to start the ICORE Regional match at 9:30 AM. This will allow those who live a couple hours away time to drive that morning. But show up earlier if you want to walk stages and get some tips from Rich Wolfe. Those who arrive on Friday are welcome to come out to the range and check it out.
  17. Not possible, wasn't in the script. So you're saying Rich Wolfe might have been paid to throw the match? ;-)
  18. I enjoyed seeing the Revo Nats episode of Shooting USA. I thought it was interesting (not bad, just interesting!) that the coverage focused so heavily on the top three finishers. What would they have done if one of the other top shooters had pulled off an upset?
  19. Mike have you used any of the 147 weight bullets? Any problems with them?, I see that most are using VV powders, which I have none but I do have quite a few other maker powders, BE-86 Bulleye, Power Pistol, Auto-comp, Longshot,Red Dot,and 231/HP-38, all of which work well with the 38's the 9's and the 45's that I have been shooting. I would hope that I can get one or two of these powders to work well with the Long Colt/Short Colt if I switch. My favorite bullet was the Zero 150-gr. jacketed RN in .356". Notice I said "was"--they don't seem to be making that bullet anymore. I am now running the MG 142-gr. pointy bullet. It's working OK.
  20. I have probably installed a hundred Weigand blades. They're OK. They would be better if they were made from steel instead of aluminum.
  21. I switched years ago from switching hands to keeping the gun in my strong hand the whole time, and I have never looked back. You can make an argument that switching hands may create the potential for slightly more speed--as Jerry says, you can keep both hands workin' that way. However, other than raw speed (if you hit it perfectly), there is no other advantage to switching hands. Every other possible edge goes in favor of keeping the gun in the strong hand.
  22. I've had no problems--accuracy or otherwise--with my Short Colt loads in any of my guns. I don't even bother loading .38 Special anymore--well, except for Sam's Marlin carbine, but that's another matter....
