  1. Thanks for the response. After your post I called KKM and they heavily advised not to shoot steel cased ammo out of their barrels. They said that it would prematurely wear the barrel. Thanks again. Looks like I will tell the Mrs. to not buy me any "on sale" ammon at the local sporting goods store again.
  2. Thanks again for the input. I went ahead and ordered the 7000 Pro, it should be here tomrrow. I will have to post feedback once I get to the range. Thanks again.
  3. Quick question. I recently picked up a couple of guns and they both have KKM Match barrels in them and the previous owner said to shy away from shooting steel cased ammon through them. Have you heard this before? Thanks for the help.
  4. I do not have experience with the others, but I have two SJC comps on KKM barrels and they run like a top. For us that may be budget minded, it is tough to beat the price of buiding an open Glock. I love both of mine.
  5. Thanks for sharing. Interesting reading. At the end of the day I appreciate someone that took a chance and has become successful.
  6. Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I may have to give the CED 7000 Pro a shot. Thanks again.
  7. I did not know it was that new. It looked like a lot of features, probably all I don't need at this time. I will be making the purchase in the next month or so. I will provide some feedback if this is the route I head down. Thanks.
  8. All, I need some help. I am relatively new to handgun shooting and the BE forum. As with many of you, I have have started shooting handguns and I love it. My focus the past 6-7 months has been shooting steel challenge. I have looked through a lot, if not all, of the threads on timers and they have given me some good information. I could not find much on the CED 7000 PRO though. Has anyone used this timer? Thoughts? I liked the ability to setup the timer to shoot steel challenge and download my results. Any comparison to the PACT MKIV timer? If you had to buy one today, which would you choose and why? As always, I appreciate the help. If in some way I missed a post on this topic, I apologize and if you could send it my way, I would appreciate it. Steve

    Magwell Help

I have a Heavy Ice for my 34 and I like the weight it adds to the gun. I have 4 other aluminum ones, but I do prefer the Heavy Ice over the others.
  10. Very nice, but that is a lot of pesos.
  11. Next on my list is an STI. In the mean time I have a Kimber Gold Match II Stainless in 9MM that I love to shoot! Interestingly enough, I have been modding some Glocks for the past year or so and do no shoot it much. It is pretty every time I open the safe though!
  12. My 2 cents, They are great for the $, but I have recently upgraded a couple of guns to the Sevigny sights and they are very nice. For my comp guns I run the flat black on the back and black serrated on the front. For me, it comes down to personal preference. My 1911s have similar sights on them and after converting it is like riding a bike.
  13. Some good feedback from the group. I run a 13lb in my 34 and runs well. From a reliable source, they say to run a 14lb in it. Either should help in addition to the other comments. Let us know how it works out.
  14. I have been down the sight path recently. After trying a few options for me 34 I just had a set of Sevigny sights put on and they are great. For me, they shoot at the top at 15 yards. If you are competition/target, I recommend the flat black back and serrated front.
  15. Gongrats, good for you! My personal preference is the 34/35 platform for the sight picture and sight picture alone. Fot $107, it is a good deal!
  16. Thanks for the tip. Looks like a good game. I will have to pick it up.
  17. Not sure if this helps, but he runs a 9MM minor SJC build and runs a 10lb. I run a 11lb in mine. I will ask around.
  18. +1 on the great customer service. After reading reviews on this forum I started to order from them and I have not been disappointed. Thanks!
  19. Looks great, nice work. Do you find that it improves your shooting or not? Thanks for the intel.
  20. Based on the thread I went with the Mrs to see this yesterday. Very good movie. +1 on you don't want to take your kids.

    Only ONE GLOCK

For me it is a toss up between a 17 and a 34, but if I have to choose it would be my 34. I love the sight radius.
  22. It is interesting you say that, I had a very similar experience and realized this during the last match. I shoot a .22 open for steel and a iron sight limited gun. Shooting them back to back has me shooting over the top of the sights. As soon as I miss a couple I realize what I am doing and the results are drastically different. I may start shooting Iron .22 with my iron limited. Definitely a good point if other are having this issue.
  23. Thanks for the information. I am currently waiting.. patiently I might add, for my Barsto to come in. My drop in KKM feels better than stock, but I have not put it on paper yet. I will have to give it a try.
  24. That is great to see! I am sure it only took a range session for him to get bitten by the bug.
  25. CE325, I am in a similar boat and I will share what I decided to do and where I am at. I picked up a KKM dropin barrel with a SJC comp and a SJC magwell from a member here. I just picked up a Carver mount as well from another member. Definitely see what parts you can save a couple of $s on. I would recommend a carver as well if you are not sure if you think you may not stick with open. There are a lot of other mounts out there that require frame modifications. I have installed a steel guiderod with a 11lb recoil spring from Glockworx. I have temporarily moved over my vanek trigger, I may buy another one to dedicate to this setup. Santa told me he bringing my Cmore for the mount.. then it will be ready for the range(he should have the slideracker and extended mag release as well). As of now, the gun runs flawlessly. I can't wait to get the dot on it. I hope that helped.
