Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. DPMS .308 Del-ton .223 Tactical Solutions .22
  2. It takes practice, that's all. Just today, in fact, my friend and I were teaching a newbie for his first foray into competitions and this very thing came up. He was seeing double images and didn't know which one to shoot. One trick is to put a piece of scotch tape over your shooting glasses of your non-dominant eye. After a while (a "while" meaning weeks or longer), your brain figures it out and it's second nature.
  3. I carry the little benchmade at work and whenever I go to CA and the big benchmade the rest of the time.
  4. Does the powder checker check for both double charge and no charge, or just one of them?
  5. I had the same problem with my home made kydex holsters where I made the tolerances too tight around the slide. The solution was to open the holster up by reheating around the slide to produce more play. But for a commercially available holster, I'd give the manufacturer a call.
  6. Thanks. Those photos are VERY good. I especially like the glock with the snow falling around it.
  7. Not the typical "shooting" question for this forum, but what shutter speed are you using to catch the shots in Post 88 above? It appears you've caught the bullet in a few of them.
  8. Here's my experience with the factory barrel versus aftermarket. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141892
  9. Technically, acetone does leave a residue, but you're not making semiconductors so it's probably not going to matter. It's also an extremely good solvent and as such can strip off paint and damage some plastics. Isopropyl alcohol is gentler on things and would probably be a better solvent to use.
  10. Very nice work especially for not having any real machining tools. Also nice photography.
  11. Yeah, I don't think I need a C clamp for mine either, except that I hang the dillon bin from the big akro and I'm always grabbing brass from it. Didn't want to disturb it and end up with 200 rounds of ammo scattered across the floor. On a side note, I'm kinda surprised my dillon bin hasn't dumped my empties on the ground yet, but it hasn't moved.
  12. I got them here: http://www.srstactical.com/communications/electronic-ambient-listening-headsets/msa-sordin-supreme-pro*x/75302*x.html Pretty much the only place on line that had the pro x.
  13. Well this is a useful thread for me as a newbie because now I know that each match has a different policy about brass. Like the other guy, I shoot at tuesday night steel where it is expected that 4-5 people waiting in line should pick up brass for the last shooter. But, there are no squads at TNS, you just get in line for the stage, shoot it and head off to the next one. Typically, there are anywhere from 10 to 30 people waiting in line so there are lots of people who can help out, plus since it's steel, there's no scoring or taping.
