I started my daughter on a p22 at 8 and moved her to a 38 super at 9 and back to an open 9mm STI at 10. The best setup so far!!! I was told by Kay to start my daughter on optics. She loves that gun and would fight you if you tried taking it away. Also I have worked very little with her on iron sights, she picked my 38 super steel gun up and won d- class at our big single stack match last year. She has had no problems with picking up iron sights. Single stack gun is also a good choice in 38 super or 9mm. I have one big thing to bring up teach safety first!!!!! I have been told on a number of occasions that my daughter was one of the safest shooters they have RO’d. That made me feel better than when she won her first match. Next remember they are kids and don’t push to hard! Just have fun!!!! My daughter still brings her rage doll to every big match to watch!!!!

Another 24hrs and we will get rid of Emily. Oh yea rain we need it!!!!!! Have to love living 60 miles from South Padre!!!

I want to know what the load is for white box 124grn 9mm. It works perfect in my daughters open 9!!!!

I know some of the guys on here were on my squad at 2004 area 4 and saw me hit the table as I was drawing my gun on stage 5 and drop my LOADED WEAPON. At that point everything slowed to a crawl and I saw my gun hit on the hammer pointing up at ME. (I LOVE MY GUNSMITH)THEN I SHIT MY SELF!!! I wanted to be DQ’d at that point because I needed a drink and I don’t drink. I also wanted to start smoking again! I could not imagine someone fighting that to get back in! I now could be hit by a truck and my gun would still be in my hand! I hope none of you have to go though this, if you do take the DQ and go get a drink. There is no getting out of Jail card!!!! There is also no Excuse For Dropped Gun!

Tracy, Shea and I will be making our first trip out to SC!!! Shea is the most excited of the bunch, it means Six Flags and roller coasters! Oh and shooting!!!

No not another wife shooting!!!! Stop it now!!!!!!!!!! First thing that happens is SHE gets the new gun NOT you!!!! Then SHE wants to practice more than you!!!!! Then SHE is looking at the good stuff on the prize table and not down were you are looking, you know were the mag springs and shock buffs are. Then you have to go though watching her pick out the cool stuff and you are trying to tell her what you want. Then you get DQ’d at a big match and pull the wagon around for her and your friends start laughing at you!!!! And since you have Daughter you need to really watch out there. They are just like there MOM!!!! Quote “Dad that’s a real cool 9mm open that Benny Hill has why don’t sell your open and get that one for me” OK! I just can’t understand why any Man wants there Wife to start shooting with them. The wife stops getting mad when you come home with a new GUN, only thing she ask is that for me. She doesn’t care if you spend to much time at the range as long as she can get the same range time in. The real problem is when your wife and daughter ask, have you ever won a gun at a match as they are standing there with new Smith &Wesson’s? I looked at them with a stern look and say NO but I did win 1000 lead bullets once! JFD it’s great that they want enjoy your sport, I love having my wife and best friend (Tracy) and Daughter (Shea) shooting with me. Make sure your wife gets gear that fits Her!!! It made a big difference in Tracy’s shooting. Also get her into one of the Lady camps!!! And do what ever Carina tells you, she is kick ass shooter!!! One thing never get mad if she beats you IT WILL HAPPEN!

We get 1 week with Sprint! (dad) Good luck, having a child is awesome! Only thing they start getting expensive when they ask for the first open gun!!!!! LOL!!! She did bring home more prizes than me this weekend. I was with AT&T when we had Shea and we used both our insurance to pay for everything she only cost us 500.00 bucks. Oh and AT&T paid for 2 weeks for the DAD!!! I can pull our policy and send it to you this week! It's not the best but it works!

We have this happen a lot at our indoor range because we get a ton of new shooters there. We will give them a warning the first time but thats it! After that thanks for the 10 bucks and we will see you next week. We have also had new shooters show up in total race gear becasue they saw it on the internet! I think the RO was right in giving the warning, the only thing that bothers me is the fact RTR was down range! I would watch this guy for a while, I have seen his type and they seem to be the big DQ people at our range.

I hate shooters that think there to good to help tear down a stage after a match! I hate that we have 40 shooters in our club and the same 8 shooters setup and tear down! Oh well i guess it's time to let the setup crew shoot for free and jack the price of our local match up!!!! Screw the free loaders that don't want to work and complane about the match! I am getting burned out!

Holy crap, you guys sound like the driver of my race car! Our crew was backing the car out of the trailer the night before the race and ran over the driver and drug him about 5 feet down the back of my enclosed which has diamond plate floors. He had road rash on his forehead and arms. The day of the race he looked worse and stayed in the trailer until it was time to run. Good luck Catfish

I hate my wifes open and MY damn race car!!! First our gun smith gutted Tracy's open gun and replaced every small part in the gun, all that was left was barrel frame and slide everything else was brand new. He called me and said have you seen the major crack in the slide. And my repley was WHAT crack??? Well we put the gun back together and it has run flawless even with the crack, but not to fear a new slide is on the way. Tracy is starting to get shooting back in order, she beat 28 of the 30 shooters this past Sunday but just could not get by Carlos G. he got her by 22 points overall! Well just when I thought things were going my way on my damn race car we blew a 300.00 starter getting it loaded on the trailer for our race last Friday night!!!! I HATE THAT CAR! I HATE THAT CAR! And it's 12:21am I just got home from working on the TURD and have to wake up in 6 hrs!!!! Did I tell you I hate that car! WE are still #1 in points and thats the only good thing! Oh and one other thing, we have had no rain and it's hot as HELL already!!!

I have done the same thing!!! But since I RO most of our matches I just pick up there mag and hand it back to them, not before taking a couple of rounds. I am sorry but 2 things piss me off more than anything cheating with ammo and oversize mags. I have found aleast 3 of or guys have been shooting there steel loads!!!!! Oh well it seems I am being petty!!!! Sorry!!!

I run a big steel match down here every year and this year was our first with open squading and it worked awesome. At the shooters meeting we told everyone that RO's and score keepers did NOT paint, so if you came up and the steel was not painted grab a can and have fun. Everyone did a great job of keeping the steel painted and we were able to move 60 guns though 6 stages in a little over 2 1/2 hrs!!! It was great with no complants!!!

Sent out an email to all our members this morning and have had very positive feed back. One question to them was do we start it now and every answer has been YES!!! One thing to keep in mind is in our area we have 2 major SS matches a year! Last year was our first try and we had 30 shooters so in December we tried it at our indoor range and had little more that 30 shooters. Hope they can get the scoring program taken care of.

Stage 1: 6th Felt good I even looked at the front sight! Stage 2: 19th Felt good but I waited for the slow swinger on the second port! Stage 3: 44th Missed the all the steel at least twice and had 3 mikes on paper!!! Stage 4: 28th Took one extra shoot at the steel and 3 mikes on paper, paper is not my friend! At this point I ask Mark M to just DQ me and stop the pain!!!! Stage 5: 9th I was able to pull together and felt like it was going to be a nice run UNTIL the No shoot!!! I made up the shot but Oh well! Stage 6: 37th 2 mikes Stage 7: 35th 2 mikes Stage 8: 38th Good time but hit the No shoot and mike Stage 9: 43rd Just wanted to go Home!!!!! 6 ½ hrs!! I did have a load of fun!!!! Tom you did a great JOB!!! I guess you can’t lay off for 6 weeks and then go shoot a major match!! I felt pretty good all weekend and my arm only bothered me a small amount.

I have narrowed it down to the decaping die on my 1050 that is causing a pop in the reloader as I bring the handle back up. It's like its being pushed out of alignment and causing it to hang right on the end of the case. Have any of you all fought this problem??????

I have noticed at this age they have no fear!!!! I really believe that helps out as they get older. She is now getting that (I do care if I lose thing). The one thing I love is she loves to shoot and doesn't believe you have to be a boy to be good at this!

Last night was our by-monthly bowling pin match. We call this match the night of comedy because if the crazy stuff is going to happen it does. It's also the night we get a lot of new shooters for some reason!! Rules are simple Man on Man 5 pins and 6 rounds in the gun total and you are allowed to reload. This has always been my Daughters favorite night for some reason!!! She normally goes out after 2 rounds but last night Shea and Tracy were kicking ass on everyone. Shea was able to make it to the semi finals were she beat her Mom but could not get past me. She did knock the pins before me but had one hang on the end and could not make the reload as quick. Then because she had not lost a round yet we had to shot again and same thing happened. But she still kicked about 6 different people's butts. Her joy of the night was shooting against one the adult that does not like her because she is a 10 year old girl. She cleaned the table and left him with 2 standing! You would have thought the world had stopped for both him and her!!! That was awesome!!!!!

I am game for the DFW area. Waco has a great range. Hell that would only be 7 hr drive for us!!!!!!! Who cares about the prizes, just make it a party!

He had never put it on! Carina, You all did a great job on Tracy. She now wants to take over some of the reloading duties. You all made her want to be a real shooter and not just an appliance operator. Thank you!! She also thanks the 1050 is pretty cool!!!
