Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. The major flaw with their testing is the distance at which the rifles were shot. As stated above the machinegun nests were at least 400 yards away and the bullets had slowed down. The 147gr. 9mm test would lead me to believe that you have to be at least +10ft. underwater to be "safe", once the 8mm had dropped to around a 1000fps it would not shatter on impact. If you are in a boat and jump out and bad guys are shooting at you with rifles at point blank range into the water, then you might be fine at 3 ft. unless someone has a 9mm.
  2. I have a Carver/C-more and do not have any issues with it other than the limited holster options. I have only used it to shoot 25 yards or less. This weekend I had 4 fast A's at 25 yds with a KKM 4 Port so I am happy.

    GLOCK BASEPADS

I just got 4 from ShootersConnection.com myself and I am very pleased with them. They assemble very easily and the weight help drag the mag out. I get 20+1 in all of mine now but that was not the case with new mags and #6 followers. I hope the mag issues get solved because I wanted new mags but I won't get any until that is sorted out. I have a THE magwell and they fit great in there too.
  4. I shoot an open G-35 and really enjoy it. KKM 4 port Carver mounted C-more 135 gr. Berry's RS 11.0 gr. Blue Dot 1340 FPS avg. The only thing that the 40 seems to give up is mag capacity. I was going to try the Major 9mm but that was getting spendy real fast.
  5. I got my Dawson pads Monday and slapped them on and loaded them up. I had been using some LEO mags that I bought cheap after the ban and put the base pads on and 3 of the 4 held 20 all had the #5 follower. I had a newer LEO mag that had the new contour but it also had a #5 follower and after swithching to that one I got 20 in them all. #20 is not all that fun but it does go in. I also found out that after #15 the Glock loading tool is worthless, all it does is push the base down and the nose up instead of the rounds down. I was going to order new mags but I guess I will hold off now.
  6. Please post a link to the thread that you found.
  7. They came this morning! Everything looks fine and I can’t wait to try them out. I would like to thank Chuck for giving great service and being understanding with customers that are jones’ing for new gear. Chuck has a customer for life here.
  8. Who did you order them from? Never mind I reread your post above.
  9. It's good to hear that they are working on them
  10. I'll see you Saturday . Bring them and I'll make sure before I spend $120.
  11. I ordered some Dawson extended aluminum base pads for my Glock 35 the first week of May online from Shooters Connection. Chuck promptly e-mailed me and told me that they were backordered. I asked him how long till they came in and he said that Dawson told him 2 weeks so I said lets let it ride cause I’m really in no rush. I call Chuck back three weeks later and asked if there was any news. He said that he talked to them the day before and they told him 3-4 weeks. He was not happy to say the least, seemed rather steamed truth be told. I am wondering if I’m even going to see these things this summer. Chuck has be top notch with his service and taking my calls about these. Is anyone else having trouble with Dawson Precision? They seem to have fine a fine product. I would really like to get these things they were the last piece of my Open G-35 rig because it is hard to get mags into the gun now with a magwell.
  12. My contribution to a match is to either score keep or paste because I can’t pick brass my hip and make it quite difficult as it is. It does make me mad to see people sit around and smoke while others are working hard to keep the matches moving along. Steve Anderson and Flexmoney put on great matches and the guys that shoot them are good too but every now and then there will be someone who just doesn’t help on a squad and that gets everyone bunched up and make for a long day.
  13. 15 round mags. dovetailed front sight better factory extractor Just a few of my wishes while we're wish'n.
  14. I loaded up some Berry's 40 cal. 135 RS's this weekend over some (a lot actually) Blue Dot. Finding data for a 135gr 40 is not the easiest thing I have ever done. I found one load on Maass's list that call for 12gr. That seemed like a lot to me but I figured I would work up to it. I started at 10.5 gr and went in .5 gr. increments up to 12.0. 12.0 gr. of Blue Dot is a FULL case no danger of a double charge there. I took it to the range and ran some through the chrono and found that I should have stopped at 11.0 gr. 10.5 gr. at a OAL of 1.135 gave me an avg. 1240 FPS with a 167 PF but that was sort of thin for me so I ran the 11.0 gr.'ers and that gave me an avg. 1340 with a 180PF and a good vertical dot track. I didn't chrono the 11.5 gr. rounds but curiosity got the better of me so I ran one of the 12.0 gr. rounds across the chrono, 1430 FPS! All of the rounds were shot out of a G-35 with a KKM 4 Port Comp. Work up your own loads for your own gun, this data is not to be used to generate loads it is just raw data. Use at your risk.
