  1. My buddy just got on the wait list at 166. Does anyone know where the cutoff is or what his chances of making in are. Maybe Big Hamp can help me out here.
  2. Here is my load. .38 Super Comp 124 grain Montana Gold JHP 10.8 grains VV N105 1.235" OAL Finished with a Lee Factory Crimp Die 170 PF DO NOT START WITH THIS LOAD! I have no pressure signs at all BUT its going through a Brazos Pro SX. Its a little shorter than most Open guns and it has popple holes. I'd start at about 10.0 grains and go from there WITH A CHRONO. Best of luck to you.
  3. Good thought but I don't believe so. I took a small screw driver and twisted a few out, there was no corrosion that I could see but that's something to think about. When the pin hit the spent primer for resizing they peeled open like a soup can that was open most of the way. I never heard it hit the primer catch in my Dillon, that's how I knew.
  4. Now here is good example for those of you who were thinking about using a softer primer because of availability in your area. I bought a batch of used brass so I don't know what primers they were but in the press the bottoms of the primers were getting pushed out/off with the rest of the primer remaining in the primer pocket. These cases were not bulged and the primers were not flat so it doesn't seem to be an excessive pressure case. The builder of my gun recommended CCI or Winchester small rifle primers and I've never had this issue. Just food for thougt before you make the decision to stray away from your normal components.
  5. I've ran Starline 9x23 Super Comp cases at 172-175 PF with no bulged what so ever so I'm not sure how hard you plan on running them if you're worried about thin case walls. Id save all of the effort and just buy some from Starline. The Win cases are alot thicker at the base but I'd have to use different load data so I don't use them. Plus Starline is a great supporter of the sport, I try to keep my business to those that do whenever possible. Good luck with your endeavor.
  6. First time shooting this match and will be putting it on next years calendar as well. Match was ran well, good range facility and a great all around atmosphere. Thanks to all of the ROs and staff for doing what they do and especially the sponsors. Great bunch of people to shoot with.
  7. Holy crap! I didn't realize that the crack was THAT big. Time to upgrade, then you don't have to shoot that ugly old gun anymore, lol. Sorry to hear that buddy.
  8. NB trail runners for everything except for when it becomes soup then I use a set of Merells. The NB are very light and grip well plus they were only like $65.
  9. Also give Comp-Tac a look for your gear. Great product and big supporters of the sport.
  10. While my initial reaction tells me maybe give Storm Lake a call. Their customer service was pretty good when I talked to them and they have been doing M&P barrels longer than anyone else.
  11. I use a Eberlestock half track for almost everything 3 gun and it works great. Price wise, it may be a little overkill for what your looking for but it's an excellent buy once, cry once pack that's tough as nails.
  12. Militec-1, I have personally used it from -47 to 120+ degrees F without issue.
  13. Great match today. Big thanks to the ROs and range staff for sticking it out in the weather. Thanks to all sponsors and the shooters on squad 23, totally worth the drive from Alaska.
  14. Huge thanks to Phil, the staff and especially the ROs at the match. This will absolutely make a spot on my calendar again next year. Also, a big thanks to all of the sponsors. Those that haven't shot this yet are missing out.
  15. I read this, had a couple of beers and ran five miles. I like to be well rounded.
  16. Check this out, I went into a Gander Mountain yesterday, used gun section. Found a blued 6 inch model 29-2. It was in good shape, easily a $1200ish gun. They had $3475 on it! I literally laughed out loud. Didn't really mean to be rude but come on man, really? The guy says its a collectible piece, I told him not at double blue book value. Other than that, regular gun shops seemed to be fairly normal.
  17. Finally, someone that says it right! I'm blaming it on crossing over to the dark side. I've never been the same since. I'm now actually too fast for the "L" in holster.
  18. Thanks to everyone for the kind words, I'm really gonna miss this place. The shooters up here are truly like family and you are all welcome down south when I get there. No matter where I go or how far I make it in our sport I'll never forget where I got my start and who helped me get there, especially you Pat. I also want to say thanks for the going away gift and I have attached a nice pic and yes the toaster is functional, lol. Thanks to all of the sponsors and the staff and match director at Birchwood. I wish all of you the best.
  19. 24 rounds, 140mm STI tube, grams guts and Arrendondo base pad. It is NOT 140mm and only legal for Open but I have a couple set up that way.
  20. Just place your order by phone, they'll set you straight.
