  1. I think they would have been a great option if they would have kept them at 140mm but nice to have choices.
  2. Just FYI, a Surefire light with batteries is 4 ounces. Understand it wont work for competition but works well for everything else. And it has light.....
  3. The file is too big so I'd have to take the picture again but when I did load development for my stock barrel I tuned a load that was able to do 15 rounds in 2.5" off of a sandbag at 25 yards. 13 of those rounds were in a cluster just under 2". I never saw the need for an aftermarket barrel after doing that but if I didn't handload I would have bought an aftermarket right away because they group better across all loads. Some loads that I use in other guns grouped as big as 5" in the stock barrel.
  4. Yes, I've seen that review. That was the other one I referenced.
  5. Hmmm, seems to be a common theme with KKM. Price is right on them too.
  6. http://www.victorygunblog.com/blog/barrelrace17 A couple a great take aways in this article. 1. Without question, some aftermarket barrels can and do outshoot stock Glock barrels. 2. Stock Glock barrels shoot fairly well. 3. Most people do not shoot well enough to see a great improvement and go searching for other parts and fixes to compensate for their lack of fundamentals. (No offense intended) 4. Good ammo makes a big difference. In my experience, there is value in having the most accurate weapon you can get EVEN IF you cannot shoot well enough to maximize its potential. Reason being you take more of the gun out of the equation therefore the learning curve is shorter. For example, if a guy simply says "I'm not good enough for good equipment yet" and takes crap ammo out a stock barrel that doesn't like that particular bullet weight then he may spend a long time chasing something that isn't there. Would have loved to see a Barsto and Zev too based on a previous random rest test article I read.
  7. I think the new owners effectively killed it. Hopefully someone will come out with a similar format under a different name.
  8. It amazes me how someone can take something so successful, turn key ready to go, and completely destroy it in so little time.
  9. I have a question about this and the MS State Steel Challenge Championship. Cash payouts are listed for division winners for each event. Will there be any payouts for 2nd or 3rd or is it a 1st place payout only for both events?
  10. Just saw Florida State Steel Challenge Championship, July 8-10 in Gainesville. Info is on matchsignup.org.

    Glock 17/19 MOS

Read on the interweb today that the 17 and 19 MOS will be released at Shot Show. Anyone have info to back this up? I think these will sell even better than the existing MOS variants.
  13. What if you drop the mag well do you think a stainless steel grip would still make it then?
  14. Does anyone have the weight difference for plastic, aluminum and steel grips? I am wondering if it's possible to take an eagle type gun and make weight with a steel grip.
  15. It would be nice to hear from the new owners, hear their side of things.
  16. So if no one wants to talk about it i will. I hope these were first year challenges since the match has changed hands. Registration was nearly non existent unless you shot the match before and received an email. Squads list didn't come out to the week before. Probably explains the lower attendance this year. The match itself was great as always. Terrific ROs, stages, schedules, facilities, etc, match ran smooth. Then started the 3 plus hour wait for scores. What followed for an awards ceremony was one of the most unorganized events I've seen at a match but by that time a lot of people had left. Scores are still not on practiscore so unless you were there when they were posted in hard copy you still dont know how you finished. The Pro-Am is a great event and I will continue to go but PLEASE keep this thing on the level it has been. It would be a shame to see such a good thing go away.
  17. Hey smoke, here's what Bobby had to say about the fit and finish of the CK Arms guns. "They are built with the same care. Matter of fact, when the guns are built, we often don't know which ones will be CK and which ones will be FGW guns until the slide machining happens."
  18. I've loaded 9x23 Super Comp to major several times with no signs of fatigue. Some cases have close to 10 reloadings. Seems plenty durable to me.
  19. Where did you see the registration at, I went to the website but didn't find the link.
