  1. Anyone have any additional suggestions for 8" MPX barrels (Gen 2 with opened up gas port if it matters)? I have a recent SBR build that I just started using, and I am looking for suggestions with 124g/147g bullets (Xtreme plated or Bayou coated) that ring in around 130-135 PF. Titegroup, N320, WST preferred. It seems around 3.0 of TG with 147 should get me there. What about the other combo's? Any help appreciated!
  2. Many years ago, I was watching a football game with my wife and a couple other friends. The camera pans over to the crowd, and someone is holding up a sign that has the letter "D" and a piece of of fence - you know, d-fence? Well, my wife looks at me and asks, what does "D-gate" mean?
  3. I've loaded up to 1.135 with Brownell and RRA mags (both of which I believe are MetalForm), and I've had no issues with either. Have not gone to 1.140 though.
  4. G35 data, but I've loaded 3.8 N320 with BB 200g and made about 168 with stock Glock barrel. ETA: 1.135 oal.
  5. I have 8 RRA branded 32 rounders, and one of the 8 does that when firing. I have 3 Brownell's 20 rounders, and one "UZI" 25 rounder, and they all work fine when firing. However, when manually unloading any of them, they will all spew forth numerous rounds from time to time.
  6. I have a G35 Gen4 that has about 5000 rounds through it, and it just started getting stovepipes at a rate of about 1 per 200 rounds. It ran perfectly for the first 4000 or so rounds (mostly minor or steel loads, 13# spring). I plan to take the extractor out of my much less used g22 and swap to see if that solves the issue.

    G34 Shooting High

I guess I could add some on-topic info as well. I had Dawson adj rear with 0.285 fronts on two G35 Gen4's, and both shot to POA with the rear adjusted to about as low as it could go, but not quite. No issues with either, I just went fixed to get a wider notch on the rear sights.

    G34 Shooting High

As for your shooting left problem, I had that issue too with a G17 Gen4. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=210373&hl=%2Blocking+%2Bblock#entry2338940
  9. I use nothing but lead or lead coated for USPSA, but I use Ranier 180g plated for GSSF in my G22. I have had nothing but good results with Ranier bullets. I have two Civilian class wins with them.
  10. I use a lot of TG, with minor and moderate power loads. I have not experienced what you describe, but I have noticed from time to time a "flash" right above the ejection port on my Glocks when shooting in matches. That is probably a less violent version of what is happening to you. I have loaded as little as 2.9g under 180g bullets. No extreme amounts of soot on my arms yet.
  11. I had two of them, and they were fine for rear sights. No issues with function. However, I found that the 125 rear notch was not wide enough for me, so instead of trying to file them out, I sold them and bought two of the new Dawson fixed rear sights with 135 notches. 100 front and 135 rear works well for me.
  12. I installed one as well on my G35. I sold the Double Alpha Racer and bought a used CR Speed for use with the frame weight. The holster is not quite as nice, but to be honest, draw speed was never my strong suit anyway. I shoot some steel matches, and although I tend to do well overall, my first shot times are average at best. So I don't feel I gave up much with the holster change. Now for the frame weight, I really do feel it was worth the money. Having that weight out front does make a difference to me with a light plastic frame. I did tap the aluminum index part for the set screws, and I recommend doing this if you can. It makes for a very solid installation. I have the SJC dowel thumb rest rather than the frame weight thumb rest. For me that combination works great.
  13. I got around 169pf using 4.2g N320, 1.135oal, 180g Bayou Bullets, and KKM barrel in a G35. Got the same power factor with 3.8g N320, 1.135oal, and 200g GAT (bare lead) bullets. Not FMJ/TMJ, but hope it helps.
  14. Grew up in the '80's and liked the movie "Weird Science." Thus, S(ex), D(rugs), R(ock and) R(oll) 72(random number). Which is ironic since I never did drugs and only like Country Music. The sex part, well... I am married. With kids. ETA: I work with computer systems, and a long time ago I used the login password SDRR((, with the read/write password of CDCW)). You win the Internet today if you know what the later stands for.

    SJC magwell

I use Arredondo's with an SJC heavy magwell, and I had to bevel the side upper edges on them to fit in the well. Since these are polymer, it was easy to do with a Dremel and sanding wheels. I have one Dawson, and it rubbed on the sides as well, but I have not tried to modify it yet.
  16. Your results and mine agree. I have read that KKM barrels are fast. Guess that really is true.
  17. In my G35, I found 4.0g of TG with 180g BB got to 170pf with a KKM barrel (1.135 oal). I didn't plan on using TG, and I didn't load enough rounds to get a really good feel, but these were my results (avg of 5 rounds for each load): 3.9g - 164pf 4.0g - 170pf 4.1g - 173.5pf ETA: If you were looking for minor, 2.9g gets about 130pf in my barrel.
  18. At 1.135 (in a G35, KKM barrel), I found 4.2g N320 with a 180g lead bullet got me to 169PF. I started with probably 3.8 or 3.9.
  19. I had a similar issue with a G17 purchased last year. I sent it back to Glock under warranty, and they said they "replaced several parts" and test fired. It now has the rear sight centered and groups accordingly.
  20. It's not too long. I load .40 major and minor to 1.135 for my Glocks, and I have no issues. I can load out to at least 1.140 without feeding issues. Now, on your Wilson gage, it may be designed for 0.400 jacketed/plated bullets. The BB's run at least 0.401 in my experience, and maybe even 0.0005 more. Seems like a small amount, but it is enough to keep them from dropping down in a tight case gage. My EGW will not fully seat maybe 25% of my BB reloads, so I gage them upside down. Anything that does not seat upside down gets plunked in the chamber for a final test.
  21. You are not hitting the rifling. I have two KKM barrels for my G35's, and I had your same problem with the first. Ship it back to KKM with a couple of dummy rounds that do not seat (no powder or primer), and a note asking them to ream out the barrel for 0.401 lead bullets. They will measure your samples to check, then find a reamer that is as close as possible to your sample bullets. They had mine back to me in about a week. Worked great. I didn't have this problem with the second because I sent in dummy bullets with the order. I promise this will fix your issue.
  22. I have an SJC, and my Dawson extensions hung up on it. The Arredondo's did too, but since they are plastic, it was easy to sand off the corners a little to make them clear the magwell.
  23. I'd be interested in knowing which barrels end up working best with heavier or lighter bullets (say 115/124g vs 147/160g). If someone is able, please post your findings. I have .40 cal KKM barrels but no 9mm barrel.
