    KKM Barrels

I'm sure all of us want the best we can get out of our firearms, and I personally have two KKM barrels in my two G35 competition pistols (and I am a VERY satisfied customer). However, for a G27, which is primarily a defensive weapon, I'd recommend sticking with the factory barrel. That's what I did with my G17 and two G19's. Those are my defensive weapons, not for competition. Sights, yes. Barrel, eh, I'd say no. My two cents, and of course, that's what this info is worth.
  3. I tried 11# and 13# on a G35 with ~129PF loads. The 11# spring would not reliably feed and completely lock the slide. The 13# spring does. Just my personal experience.
  4. I have 7 Glock pistols, all Gen4. Of them, my G22 groups better than the rest, with the G21 close behind. Neither of my two G35's, with the factory barrels, grouped as well as those two. They now have a KKM in one and a BarSto in the other, and with those barrels, group about as well as the G22. My experience indicates that some Glocks just shoot better than others.
  5. I tried at least 8 Gen4 G22/G35 mags, and I could not get 20 reloadable in any of them. I think I got 20 barely in one of them. I bought 4 Gen2 LE/Mil post ban mags, and I could get two of those reloadable at 20 easily. They have worked flawlessly for me. I only use 20 in the starter mag, but they are reloadable if needed. Arredondo extentions, VERY slightly rounded followers.
  6. Same problem here - it's the bullets, not the brass. Send your barrel and several dummy rounds back to KKM. They will slightly ream out the area where the bullet sits just before the rifling - for free with a quick turn-around (in my experience). Did that to mine, and now my lead loads drop in fine, and it's not a PITA to unload and show clear.
  7. Same here - used a 15# for major but 13# for minor.

    KKM Barrels

I have a KKM drop-in in one G35 and a Bar-Sto semi-fit in another G35. Both improved the groups in each gun over the stock barrel, but to be honest, I cannot tell if one groups better than the other. Of course this is a sample size of one of each, but to me, it was a wash. On a side note, the KKM runs perfectly in both guns. The Bar-Sto runs perfectly in one, but has occasional failures to feeds in the other, even with a 15# spring.
  9. I ended up sending my G17 back to Glock. They called me saying that the slide lock or slide stop was installed incorrectly (don't remember which the guy said, though I cannot think of how the slide stop would be installed incorrectly to affect accuracy...). Gun was brand new with one range trip and 200ish round through it. They said they changed out whichever one was installed incorrectly, and the the locking block, and they sent targets using 124g Blazer at 15 yard that were easily 1.5". Sights were back centered on the slide dovetail. Have not shot it yet, but I hope those targets were what I can expect. Oh, and they paid for shipping both ways, and had the gun back in less than three weeks. Very good customer service.
  10. Are you using the captured rod as well? What is the spring weight of the stock OEM G35 spring? Yes, captured guide rod. And yes, as stated, the factory spring is 17#.
  11. I have a couple of G35's with the Jager rods and run 13# springs with minor loads. It works fine for me until I get to about 2k rounds or so, then every once in a while the slide will not return all the way into battery when it has to push a cartridge along with it. I bought a couple of 15# springs to try. Maybe I'll cut a couple coils off and try to make a 14# spring.... Right now, I just change out the 13# before any major match. A new 13# always works fine for me. Using flat wire ISMI. Also, I do have tighter aftermarket barrels in both.

    KKM Barrels

you had me at chicks dig 'em....lol Can you use a KKM in a IDPA SSP and USPSA production gun? (I talking about replacing with same caliber here) Don't know IDPA rules, but you are good in USPSA Prod as long as the barrel is the same size as the factory barrel. I have used KKM and Bar-Sto in my Prod guns.
  13. Good info, I have a relatively new G17 that I had to drift the rear sight about 1mm off the dovetail to get the groups to center. Will check it tonight.
  14. have you noticed and difference in recoil for minor loads with the 155 vs 200gr? I have not used the 200 in minor loads, but I think the 180 minor is softer than the 155 minor for the same power factor. I use 180 for minor exclusively now.
  15. I used to tumble it off, but I got lazy reloading one night before a match and left it on. That was over 2 years ago, and since then, I have not tumbled it off. I have not noticed any difference.
  16. This is not my experience.I have seen the spread you are seeing, but it's usually 30* or more to see anything beyond 3-4pf I have chrono'd my loads at about 70* and are 129pf. And then when shooting a match at 32* or below, it feels like I'm shooting major pf. I go by the chrono. Not by feel. Everything feels worse in freezing temps. My ammo always chronos above 134 in the summer matches, sometimes 136-137 if it's really hot or the ammo is kept in the sun at the Chrono table. I load to 132pf in the winter off season. Yep, play golf in the winter, and you know this is true...
  17. I've used 4.2g with 180g Bayou Bullets and 3.8g with 200g Bayou Bullets to make major (~168PF) loaded at 1.135 for Glocks. I've also used 3.7g with 155g Bayou Bullets for minor loads (~130PF), again 1.135. You can use these at starting points for your loads, as they should be really close to bare lead loads.
  18. Same here. I bought one directly from them custom reamed for my lead/BB reloads. When the package arrived (USPS), the box was empty, and the tape was broken. I called, and they reshipped another barrel, custom reamed, the next day. They filed the lost shipping claim, and I didn't have to do ANYTHING on my side. Great people and a great company.
  19. For a G35 with KKM barrel, I loaded cast lead 200g with 3.8g N320 at 1.135. Made 169 on average. Should be close to BB's.

    KKM Barrels

I have a KKM drop-in and Bar-sto semi-fit in two different G35's. Both are excellent, and honestly, I cannot tell if one groups better than the other. KKM is cheaper and usually more readily available. The KKM runs great in both guns. The Bar-sto has an occasional FTF in one of the guns, but runs perfect in the other. I'm sure with a little tuning, the Bar-sto could be made to run great in both, but I'm satisfied with it working in the one it's in.
  21. No sir, I didn't notice or ask. I was on a mission for a G19, did my paperwork, paid, and made like a baby - headed on out. I do know that I called last week, and they were out of G19's, so they took my name down. The lady at the store called me today saying they had some new ones in stock, so maybe some other models arrived as well.
  22. Baton Rouge Police Supply, Baton Rouge, La. Today. Blue label G19 with GSSF coupon. $433.82 OTD.
  23. If you are looking for accuracy over speed, get a 125 rear notch and 100 front site. I have Dawson (fixed and adjustable) on several guns with those specs. I took off the 150 rear, as it was too wide for me.
  24. Back to your regularly scheduled original topic... I found that both the KKM drop-in and Bar-Sto semi fit grouped better than both of my stock G35 barrels. However, I have a G22 that groups as well or better than both of those with the stock barrel. In my opinion, it all depends on the gun you get. The guys who swear by the stock barrels must have gotten a gun like my G22. I have owned 8 different Glock pistols over the years, and group sizes have varied amongst them more than I would have thought.
