6.5 x 284. it will drop out of sonic around 1800 yards out with a 140 berger leaving at 2920 fps

looks like my 2 38 supers, and my open super is way worse than yours. It also have a whole lot more rounds trough it too.. I never sent my guns in, the powder burns a little quicker and enough escapes to pit the bushings before the pocket swells up to seal of the primer. I do have several spare bushing, but I have never changed it.

340 burns to slow and will leave unburned kernel's that can and will get under the star, which will make closing the cylinder almost impossible. I run VV310 also, and will run vv320, but 320 will also leave kernel's

I asked the MD at todays match and showed him the two rules, and he said yes it would qualify for a reshoot it the SO touched the bullet holes on a target., One of the reasons why overlays are not used in IDPA. Now our MD does tend to have a lot more common sense then others if seen, but I would like to see what HQ says to clarify this question.

I've been going over new rule book with a fine tooth comb to make sure that I don't get caught with a "i don't know" situation when shoot at a above local level match. I will point out two rules and how they can conflict with each other and could be used to the shooters advantage. 1.3.2.9 Re-shoots are allowed for stage equipment failures or SO interference. 4.22 Touching targets 4.22.3 The SO or scorekeeper will not touch a target on the front or back of the target near the bullet holes before or during the scoring process. My question is, is this SO interference? I know that a SO getting run over because they didn't get out of the shooters way is interference and does a get a reshoot. Not trying to start any hate and discontent, but we have all seen SO's and RO's sticking their fingers into the holes and pushing the back of the targets to determine weather or not two bullets passed through a hole. especially on targets that are 2 to 3 yards that you know you didn't miss

I use a stainless steel plate to check my clips with some slots cut into them to straighten the fingers when they are tweaked. I think that almost all the revo shooters in the Phoenix area has one that I've given them too.

rule 8.1.6.4 says no oversize, no extended past 0.2" from frame for all divisions

Internal locks, why does S&W have them and Ruger does not?
JohnRodriguez replied to mcb's topic in Revolver Forum
Massachusetts gun law. it is one of the reasons all S&W revo's come with a 12.5# + trigger. look up there gun laws, very interesting reading. -
my major load use to be 11.8gr VV super mag powder with a 115gr Hornady RN and was about 175pf. it pushed strait back with no muzzle live. My current minor load is a 125gr Zero RN with 3.9 VVn310 at about 133 pf. never lose the dot. Magna ported back in 2002. I cant seem to paste the picture of my barrel, so I keep playing with it.

I have a solidly mounted ransom rest that I can bolt onto the back bumper of my old jeep. Ill attach my open revo to it and shoot a couple of groups, then adjust the dot to the center of the group and lock it down. saves a lot of time and bullets in getting it adjusted.

SSS mag well + TTi base pad - are these IDPA ESP legal?
JohnRodriguez replied to MilkMyDuds's topic in S&W (M&P, etc)
the mag well is legal, not sure on the short base pad, I use the SSS mag base for my ESP guns. The TTI extended base pads work with the SSS mag well -
pretty self explanatory. only way the movie could have been worse is if the popcorn was burned, which it wasn't, so that was the best part of the movie. maybe the director was hoping that no one saw the first 3 mad max movies and had something to compare it too.

just saw it. horrible movie. bad bad bad.

Urban Operator Does IDPA
JohnRodriguez replied to PKT1106's topic in Miscellaneous Topics That Do Not Fit in Any Other Forum
typical turd hurder. You know I'm a electrician by my respect to them. I thought a operator was a Doctor. we should do like a M.A.S.H. episode and call each other Dr at the matches now. -
I have a couple decades of practice with the 3/8 nuts, also, they fit better in the pocket then the marbles do. plus they are free at work
-
he who screws up the least will be the winner. Rob for both SS and Revo
-
I think that I have a better chance and ballistics of a 3/8 nut launched with my sling shot than the blackout has at long distance shooting

Hornady LNL powder measure drift
JohnRodriguez replied to smokeandmirrors's topic in non-Dillon Reloading Equipment
get a redding benchrest powder measure. set it and you can load a tray or 50 as quick as you can. pull a couple of the cases weigh them and they will be exactly the same. I tried a RCBS many years ago when I took it off a prize table. it took to long to dispense, drifted like what you are experiencing. get a redding BR dispenser. -
New S&W 627 in 38 Super - Tips appreciated
JohnRodriguez replied to dansedgli's topic in Revolver Forum
blad tech makes a pro series race holster, which is has a open front. you can see them on speed-beez.com -
I run a DPM recoil system in both my 9L and 40 pro. it was money well spent for me. if you start running light springs, then the mp will then to not want to go into battery, it will also not want to strip the next round off the mag. that was my experience with light springs.

with 147gr zeros, 3.9 gr vv310 I was getting 821 fps with 121 pf, but was getting sticky extractions, not all the time but enough to not want to put up with it.. so I went with 3.7 gr vv320 and get 129 pf at 879 fps. no extraction problems yet.
