  1. Old and outdated thinking especially when there are a bunch of modded sub 3 lb striker fired pistols out there nowadays. What really bothers me is the whole hammer down vs sitting on halfcock thing.
  2. Good point. I think I only have less than an ounce to play with.
  3. So the Stock 1 grips would fit an Elite Match perfectly? I didn't know they made nill grips for the 97. Do you have a pic of this?
  4. Awesome. I just need to pick up some 10mm brass.
  5. It is too big for the Canik Shark which is similar to the P-120
  6. I believe you also need to change out the extractor to the 9mm one so it holds the case better. This is the case when I install 9mm SP01 barrels into a .40 slide on a CZ75.
  7. I run a 12 lb Browning High power progressive recoil springs in my SP01's and Shadows. Stuart told me that I can use regular CZ75 Recoil springs on my CTS slide.
  8. I recently switched all of my CZ75's over the factory rubbers. I like the palmswell and the top of the grips to rest my thumb on. I tried some VZ grips and the thick and thin aluminum grips and they were too thin for me.
  9. I am sure the breechface is slightly larger on the TS .40 slide. Typically 9mm pistols cannot go up to .40 due to the smaller breechface but .40 can go down to 9 with a barrel change, extractor change, and the appropriate magazines.
  10. I thought the factory recoil spring on an SP01 was 14 lbs. I run a 12 lb recoil spring and I typically make all of my 9mm ammo to around 130 to 135 PF with zero issues. I would do as Stuart suggested and run a lighter recoil spring otherwise you will have run hotter ammo to overcome the heavier recoil spring.
  11. Ditto. You can spring for the additional mods later or get only what you need. IMHO, you should get one of each.
  12. Don't forget the bang for the buck you get with this setup.
  13. I suspect the P01 dust cover is not long enough to cover the recoil system of the TS slide. I am not sure about the fitment with the dustcover on the P01 but I know for certain that the firing pin block lifter will prevent me form sliding the CTS frame on. I don't feel like messing with a decocker sear cage unless I have to.
  14. This is sad, but true for most pistol oriented competitions I find that for the most part that most of the folks that play IPSC/USPSA and Action pistol are typically younger.
  15. I would pick the M&P as well. That being said, I have a Glock 41, Witness Elite Match, and an RIA Tactical I use for CDP.
  16. What lack of spare parts are we talking about here? You can order extra slidestops, recoil springs, hammer springs, and sear springs from CZC or CGW. I replace the recoil spring every 5k and 20k for everything else.
  17. I decided to rejoin IDPA with the FFR going away and the weight limitations were increased so I don't have to mickey mouse my SP01 to play anymore.
  18. OP, since you cannot lower the charge, is it possible for you to load the bullets longer and still pass the plunk test? I run 147g Bear Creeks with 3.2g of Titegroup with an OAL of 1.130" and I get right around 130 PF out of my Australian Shadow. I have noticed that Bear Creeks are a little slower than pure lead rounds and roughly equal to FMJ rounds.
  19. I thought theses disconnectors had little to do with the actual reset but affect the static position of the trigger after each shot so there is much less take up in SA mode.

    CZ MAGS

It is kind of infuriating for me that there are 16, 17, 18, and 19 round mags available for the CZ75. The 16 round mags with rubber base pads are far and away my favorite mags for IDPA and Production. They also work with the CZC basepads to get to the 140mm length and can hold 20 with the stock springs and followers and up to 23 with the Grams Springs and followers. They will not work with .40 S&W. These will fit in either box. The 17 round Mecgar AFC mags are also excellent although I don't care for the plastic basepad. They will fit 12 rounds of .40 S&W without issue. These will fit in either box. The 18 round SP01 Factory Mags need a much stronger spring to work properly and it seems like kind of a waste to me to spend $35 to add 3 rounds with a baseplate to get to 140mm. They are also much more expensive than the other options. The 19 round Mecgar AFC mags (+2) are also excellent and are the easiest ones to take apart for cleaning. They will fit 14 rounds of .40 S&W and maybe one more if you trim the follower. This will definately not fit in the IDPA box. I have not broken any of these mags over the years but I have cracked some followers and worn out a few springs. I wish my 1911 mags were this tough.
  21. The Extreme Bullets are pretty but I find that they are sensitive to crimping and honestly, I have had much better luck with lead, bear creek, and PD bullets. I also find those other offerings to be less in price.
  22. After you get done benching, I also try shooting a few 3 shot strings freestyle at 7, 15, and 25 yards to see where they print.
  23. I have not had much luck with Solo 1000 in 9mm with the 115g to 125g bullets in the past. I have found that it works great for the 135g and 147g bullets though.
  24. I use the EGW/Lee Undersized die and Dillon seater and crimp dies on my 550 and 650. I then use an EGW Chamber checker for every round. If I have some out of spec rounds, I use a Lee FCD and a Lee Hand press to fix it. Usually that works but if it doesn't, then I toss the cartridge in the to be pulled pile.
  25. My Springer 1911 is just fine with anything I throw in it. Anything that works fine in my CZ Shadow works fine in my 1911. I just make sure to load them as long as I can for reliable feeding.
