  1. What if your CZ doesn't have an FB? (I'm not trying to be a wiseguy, I'm new to CZs and for now I use my support hand to grasp the hammer to lower it but it makes me a bit nervous that I'll slip...and isn't that a DQ if you do an ND in an event?) If you place either your support hand index finger or thumb lighlty on the hammer, pull the trigger, and slowly slip/roll your finger out of the way after the hammer stops, this will prevent an ND while manually decocking.
  2. The Checkout feature doesn't seem to work. EDIT I got it to work on my phone but the code seems to have expired today.
  3. Has anyone case hardened a part after polishing it? I have some friends that are too poor to get an upgraded hammer and sear. Is the CZ Competition case hardened?
  4. Here are some pics of the extended slides on a match elite frame. One is blued (.40) and the other is in wonder finish (.45). I am not sure if I like the wonder finish. Perhaps someone would like to trade slides.
  5. I believe it is a bit easier to shoot limited with a nice heavy, steel framed gun. The STI 2011, the CZ Tactical Sport, and the Tanfoglio Witnesses would be great choices. I had a rough time shooting a G35 in limited. After a few months I went back to shooting production with my SP01 and I fared much better.
  6. Welcome. To be frank, the calguns forum is basically just filled with noobs.
  7. I use the Lyman digital guage. It has been an invaluable tool that I have used many, many times over the years. Well I am thinking either your hammer hooks are too short or you are getting too much of that frog lube junk on your sear/hammer. I moved away from the 8.5 lb spring because I honestly felt it was too light. I think the 11.5# spring with the extended firing pin is the best comprimise of lightness and reliability.
  8. 34 ounces doesn't seem right unless the frame is aluminum.
  9. It's going to depend - on your chamber and the specific bullet you've selected. Only way to tell is The Plunk Test (TPT). This is the only correct answer.
  10. If you get the Stainless Steel brake from CZC, it eliminates that annoying tab and makes switching out the hammer spring easier. Since it is also a little thicker, you don't have to worry about it bending and it is only $10.
  11. The race hammer will prevent your SP01 from meeting the SSP rules in IDPA which means you cannot play in ESP either. The only division you will be able to play in is IPSC/USPSA limited minor. The same goes for folks who install the Single Action triggers onto their SP01's.
  12. How exactly does one tune a FPB gun to cause it to fail an inspection? Can't you use a backup gun?
  13. I just converted mine. Are the slides worth anything? I hope at least $300. I have 3 slides to sell, lol.
  14. I seperate headstamps for myself and I save the miscellaneous crap for other folks I reload for.
  15. you'd have to check weight and box 42 ounces with rubber basepad.
  16. This is true, however I have seen zero difference in performance between them. I just buy whatever is cheaper at the time of purchase. Yes, I have purchased the Match primers for less than the regular.
  17. I have used many types of primers and I never saw more than a +/- of 2 PF. Unless you chrono all of the loads in the same gun and within the same hour, I am sure there are many other factors at play here.
  18. My Witness Match Elite weighs 42 ounces with an empty magazine.
  19. I have installed them on every CZ75 I have purchased.
  20. They were close to each other and I was shooting with a decent cadence.
  21. If you want to do this on a budget, something heavy like an CZ75 SP01 (or Shadow) with 147g Bear Creek bullets feels like shooting 22 lr.
  22. At 1.13" with the Bear Creek version of this bullet, I had no issues with the stock CZ barrels. I have throated most of mine and I have gotten away with 1.160". I would have gone further but I was already close to the max of my magazines. In both scenarious, they functioned flawlessly with 500 rounds of each length. OP I would try seating them deeper to 1.13" or 1.125" and try again.
  23. That is a touch better than what I was able to do. I actually backed off to 5#DA/2.5#SA since I had 2 AD's on my last two matches. Fortunately this happened while I was transitioning between targets so I played it off and made a make up shot, lol.
  24. I have a regular SP01 as a backup to my shadow. The difference is almost imperceptible but they are both loaded with every CGW and CZC part that can be shoehorned on there. Hopefully, after this weekend I will have converted my backup SP01 into a full Shadow Now I just need to figure out how I am going to sell these SP01 slides ...
  25. What about the Australian SP01 Shadow?
