  1. went outside yesterday to zero the new sight. only 2 clicks elevation and wonderfully enough it allowed me to move the rear sight back to center. Even in the dim light I had to work with the sight was nice and bright. great light vents down the side, and that dot, man it was nice, smaller than the factory one, and crystal clear. The extra, exposed, length makes an obvious difference. the extra brightness really makes it easy to track. I couldn't really see the serrations in the gloom at the range, but in the decent light of gunroom they also really stand out, so I'm looking forward to trying it out in decent lighting.
  2. my new one did exactly the same thing as did my factory ones. it's tight to the bottom of the slide. but it could've been me, I totally admit that. But it's in now and looks great!!!!
  3. holy crap! I still like my KISS one, so now RCBS needs to add a casefeeder to the 2000. do that and I'll sell my 1050 and go back to the 2000.
  4. dude I couldn't go back to loading tubes the old way again. I'd shoot myself. it's the one job I truly hate in reloading. I much preferred the way RCBS's strip loader works, and in fact wish there was a way to put the strip feeder on the 1050. it's a much better system for feeding primers. But it would be a huge mechanical undertaking with lots of machining to do that.
  5. textured baseplates would rock, except they'd be beat to shit in about 3 practice sessions. grip tape on the bottom would be better, and replacable. R.Elliot, I used to use a similar pencil. but again, losing the lead, it breaking or jamming through the paper convinced me to use the pens I use, which I just noticed are from the same company as the notepad, www.riteintherain.com you can write straighht through grease with these things.
  6. from this thread http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...c=64594&hl= first off the Custom piece of plastic cut to preven the primers from flipping sideways when they leave the main tray area. It's important to use a piece of clear plastic so that you can see what's going on. the odd primer still does try to go sideways (they are crafty little buggers) Next are three shots of the custom cut pieces of carboard. You'll notice I inserted 4 pieces into the back of the support area of the tray, folded another one around the front, and then folded another one to go down the front and around the other piece I folded. I then taped it all down with hockey tape. Finally the tube is inserted with the yellow pick up end removed. I prefill about 10 tubes, putting the yellow end back on after they are full. only change I've done is to glue the plastic part that covers the primers final path onto the Lee tray. I also trimmed that piece of plastic to look more "factory" hahaha. never did get around to stealing a vibe from the gf. I got a rather nasty look at the idea. apparently we don't have any that are "broken". the tumbler works great anyhow.
  7. yup rubber pads (Tanfoglio ones) are legal in PD. loooong discussion in Bali, after it was already okayed by Vince before the trip. the notepad I use is the Rite in the Rain pad www.riteintherain.com I'd use a pencil but I always break them. funny story I always here is how the US spent millions of dollars developing the space pen, only to arrive at the Space Station one time to see Russians using pencils. I also find pencils smudge. the pens only cost about $10 and last forever (I lose them before they run out of ink). was there any news on long firing pins or hammers and sears from the factory for us poor Production guys?
  8. I made mine so the tube was removable, that way I could load a bunch of tubes in advance, or have a buddy doing it whiile I loaded. I use one of my Midway tumblers to provide the needed vibration. works faster than the RF100 but you do have to sit there holding it.
  9. you mean stopped him from shooting strong hand, he should be practicing weak hand stuff now.
  10. umm waterproof notepads? I've been using one for about 10 years (not the same one obviously) they are the military style ones. Using the write anywhere "space" pens. looking forward to more info on the large frame Stock IIs. also looking forward to the fix on the mags, 9mm major looking even better if the mags work 100%. pics of course would be awesome dude.
  11. what are the neat little holders Pete?
  12. ok I really need to get my waiver for the US, this would be wicked fun.
  13. some very cool stages in there dude, nice work on the win. I've never seen a pole stage before, that's locked into the next match I setup, same for the flip the table over stage. one question, and this shows my ignorance of the rules and my laziness to look it up before I hit the hay after a tortures night shift, I thought a person couldn't have an all steel stage?
  14. love it! but in Canada Thompsons are a no go, semi auto or not. So we'll have to figure something else out. I'll be buying my new suit in the new year. I honestly thought I was the only shooter that loved those outfits. I think it will also go over much better than my custom made latex rubber fetish outfit.
  15. oh man I coughed up Coca Cola through my nose! nicely done dude.
  16. photos are required. if there was a way for me to skip the border I'd be there. I guess I'll just have to make do with our annual Santa Shoot on the 26th. have fun dude.
  17. I saw a guy who had a couple markers placed around his 1050 so that as the rounds went around they got marked. it worked good, the pressure from the marker caused the case to turn as it went by so when it hit the next marker it was marking blank space, not where the other marker hit.
  18. thanks guys. I was sure I was using 3.5 prior to switching to TG, but couldn't find my old data books on those loads. Funny thing is that the setting on my Dillon powder measure for TG gives me the 3.6gr of 231 that I wanted. that's handy! Since I am using a Stock II, I can load fairly long, and intend to do just that.
  19. So I've been looking all over for data on using 147gr 9mm JHP (or TMJ) with some old 231 I've got (16lbs). I've been using Tightrgroup for years, and want to use up my 231 stock instead of having it go bad on me. I've found a few loads here and there and the guys on gunnutz managed to find some old data, but Win/Hogdon don't even list it for jacketed bullets anymore. What gives? So far I've worked up a load of 3.6 grs, shoot great, no pressure signs or anything like that. No idea on velocity yet as I haven't had a chance to chrono it. Any of you guys have pet loads for this combo?
  20. I muich prefer fixed sights over adjustable, but, that's me. When Henning makes his I hope he makes snag free. I hate doing clearance drills with my Stock II and ripping my hand open. Something like an adjustable Novak would work awesome for me.
  21. hmm seems the reply I typed on my Archos never made it through. hope your time amongst the Redwoods was better than mine. we travelled through during a massive storm and had them falling all around us. we were just missed twice but great big bastards that would've crushed the car. looking forward to all the pics and chatting with you when you get home.
  22. hmm, if Rick uses one to test his feeders, hmmmmm...... damnit, they really need to get one goinga little quicker. but I suppose 1200 rounds an hour, nice and smooth like it looks like it runs, plus you could be loading tubes at the same time. hmmmmmm
