  1. actually with a spacer that tool would work fine with Tanfoglio front sights, as they come off through the front of the slide, instead of side to side. you'd just need a piece of metal to put across the opening of the slide where the barrel would go. or perhaps do it with the barrel in the slide?
  2. I can get all the mink oil I want, and I use the Dillon spray, but I am looking for some One Shot up here to try.
  3. the guy with that Lee setup is a genius. I've got a few ideas on how to fix mine up now (the girlfriend shouldn't notice one toy being butchered for science!) edited to add, OK, I used some thin cardboard to make the spacer in the back of the Lee primer tool. folded another piece around the primer tool to cover the tube when in place, and then put another piece of cardboard between that wrap and the tube (so 3 pieces of cardboard in the back and one in the front. Hockey taped it together and put a piece of thin clear plastic over the exposed area of the primer path (cut to fit). filled the tray with primers, inserted tube, and placed against my tumbler (both the Dillon and the Midway worked equally well), 100 primers in about 20 seconds of vibrating. Rotate the tray a bit and hold on an angle, and away it goes. half the time and effort (at least) of loading by hand. Using the clear plastic over the pathway you can watch to make sure each primer drops in the right way too. I'll try and take pics tomorrow. I tried using the vibrations from the tumblers to flip the primers in the tray, but it's too much. If I can salvage something from the old "toy" box, I might be able to get a speed controlled vibe mounted to the bottom of the tray to do everything. we shall see!
  4. the swage rod will just crush the pocket a little bit, probably making the problem worse. I've got a bucket of NT 45 Brass that I've seperated from the good stuff. I plan on loading it, my ammo sponsor does that, but I'm not sure of the load he uses with small primers.
  5. pfft, that'll buff right out. should order a casefeeder while it's out. Frank K from Alberta had a few nice Dillons, after his fire they looked like crap. Dillon rebuilt them while he was down south for a match, and apparently they are like new now.
  6. good stuff man. sometimes the wait can be silly, and it's usually not on the US side, it's the losers in CanPost.
  7. or try a Guga Ribas, that's what I use for my Stock II, and I love it. Much more secure feeling than the Ghost, and nicer to look at too!
  8. need some pics of the house and the work you're doing dude! congrats on the anniversary. And to think I want to head over to Norway for a month or two in a couple years! Try and track down family I've never met or heard of. (hopefully some cute 2nd cousins)
  9. Having played with a LnL a number of times in the last year, I'd have to say they are impressive. If Dillon was really smart they'd come out with a new 1050 with a few new things on it, more upgrades really, like a better priming system (RCBS has the best system with the strips), a better case feeder setup (for better control of cases into the shellplate, and I suppose their own bullet feeder.
  10. Dillon, you're a comic book collector too? man there aren't too many of us in the gunworld as far as I know. good April Fools joke, got me, and I don't even have a SD
  11. that's the first time I've ever seen a CMore setup like that. cool. but must be a pain in the ass to zero?
  12. gonna suck first time my grips get a ding on them. oh well!
  13. so you're saying the "slop" between the die holes and the shell holder are causing your problems? For that to happen there would have to be monumental differences in centerlines. If that's the case I'd check a few other presses and see if it's unique to you, or really is a problem across the line. And you are right, in this day and age of modern machining it would take very very little for someone to address a possible issue and change a few numbers here and there. I've watched my friend do it during production at the CNC shop he runs. steps up to the machine, enters the program, changes the lines of code he needs to, saves it, and restarts.pretty simple
  14. when you figure that these presses are going to be used in all manner of conditions, by all manner of people, you have to build them to the lowest common denominator IMO, so that they will work all the time. I don't see how these tolerances are that big of a deal. The machines work, produce quality ammo, and run forever. You start trying to tighten things up, you're gonna suffer somewhere.
  15. even with the insert on mine, I just loktited it in place, as it still kept working free.
  16. hmm I knew I'd seen that look before............. from friends that work in the joint I mean!
  17. I think I'll take a set of the Pepsi Blue ones! I just can't help myself.
  18. you've been looking at too many photo's of rock stars dude. you're supposed to smile in those pics, not look all sullen and depressed
  19. gotta ask of the pic above, is that a water softner unit and water filtraion unit to the right of the reloading bench?
  20. I have to say the more I shoot my Tan the more I like it. Henning has helped me a ton with my gun over email and the phone. He deserves all the attention he gets here.
  21. damnation, I have no idea which I'd prefer. I don't think it'll bother me either way. But I want a set of the Pepsi blue ones (or black? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm) I'm used to full checkering so...........
  22. hey convienently enough I am now setup to work on Tanfoglio parts................ sears and hammers etc.
