    The Matrix

This movie had the one big warning flag for me: Keanu Reeves! Is he the worlds worst actor? He makes Tom Cruise almost look normal... they're both so stiff. They sure aren't on screen for their acting abilities. Any movie with him in it, is probably bad. It's kind of like Kevin Bacon - although Tremors is a modern classic.
  2. Thanks Ed, is there still alittle wiggle room up/down on the rear sight for you?
  3. I think you posted that in another quesiotn I asked, thanks. I was worried with the .200 that it was the highest, and there might not be enough adjustment on the rear? I'm buyng a Bo-Mars and the FO in the same order, so I didn't know what that would do.
  4. [Off Topic] Erik, I like the new avatar btw [/]
  5. The underside of the slide, in front of the trigger looks really odd, but cool. Let's see how their external extractor works....
  6. That's one sweet looking pistol... might find a space next to my Kimbers Any 'suggestion' of price?
  7. Best Full auto I've shot: Browning .50 Cal, belt fed, - better when mounted on an APC, as opposed to the tripod. On a good open range (ranges designed for anti-tank), you can easily hit targets (old trucks, APCs, and occasional squirrel.. opps scratch that) at 1,500m.. and it was free! Just don't touch that barrel!
  8. Have you tried posting in a Shotgun forum? Like: http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic....ighlight=dillon If you find a good review somewhere, I'd love to see it. I have a PW, but I'd really like to see a good comparison of the Dillon, PW and the Spolar
  9. PACT - Digital Precision Powder Scale Pros - Lifetime warranty, higher measure weights, can work with thier dispenser (if your're so inclined), same price Cons - AC adapter Only I read they make RCBS scales too. And I should add.... Brian sells these too.... no shipping
  10. Before I order (finally) my EGW FO sight, is there a rule of thumb for how high it should be? Brownells sells them in .150, .160, .175, .200 I'm trying to match them to a Bo-Mars BMCS-K on a Kimber Custom Target II
  11. Thanks, I'm an idiot. I put a yellow postit there to mark the spring section, right over the words "'NEW' ISMI", and only saw the Wolff name...
  12. Where do you get ISMI springs from? I looked in Brownells, they seem to have the magazine springs bu not the recoil springs.
  13. Erik, I drove down last week for a Microsoft Conference, after all the Oakland flights were cancelled beacuse of the fire related issues at the ATC. It really depends on the day of the week you drive down and at what time of day. I arrived in LA ~ 11pm, no traffic, my wife went down 3 weeks ago (to SD), I think she hit LA about 1-2 pm, no problems. We looked for ways around it (I-15), the extra distance negated speed gains
  14. I'd like them make the gun laws the same across the country (and not use California or Mass as the examples). I'd love to be able to get a Dan Wesson 1911 here, or a Kimber in 40 S&W
  15. Tightloop: Do you get Steelhead in Texas? How's the trout there? I've heard good things about Arkansas (White River), but not much info on Texas...
  16. Casting a big stone-fly nymph to feeding trout, and hearing the Sage XP, 6 weight crack like a .22... And, it was the last trip of this season - I'm too city'ized now to fish for trout in the snow. Steelhead of course are a different topic On the plus side, I had to go back and pick up a 4 weight frmo the car, and start looking for rising trout... it worked and I picked up 4 in the next 2 hours.
  17. The 81mm comes with (I think) 6 bags of propellant attached to each round, usually they only use 4 per, so there's 2 left over. Doesn't sound like much until you have a few platoons of mortars (both standalone, and from inside APCs M113s), doing drills all day long... anyway, you can split the bags open and spill the powder out, make a decent number of feet of fuse, light that, than get the hell out of the way. I can't remmeber how they set off the 4.2's if there wasn't any 81 powder that day.. I think the 4.2s come with a 60 charge, but usually fire at 40-45 (big problems when a 81 gunner goes to 4.2, and uses a charge 4 - and the round only goes 50 feet - saw that once - thank god there's a rotating safety - or that was 4 people gone). I've seen newer range officers forget how fast this stuff burns, and singe trees that weren't taken into account, and then check thier eyebrows afterwards.. luckily I never had a casualty this way, but I'm sure it's happened. I think the 81mm weigh 37#, and the 4.2 54# (it sucks getting old) - that's wht 259,000 gr (for the small one)? not really that accurate, but it makes up with that HE kick.
  18. You just have to be careful. Depending on the load, as you set the bullet on the belled case you'll probably see the case is too full, or possibly overflowing. In this scenario, you're going to decap a live primer. I've never done that, not sure if it could/would go off or not... After a few hundred rounds, it becomes second nature to advance..
  19. At the end of the day on the mortar range, they burn off the extra charges in big piles - this is very aggresive fast powders (for the 81MM), or solid gell propelants (for the 4.2in - solid nitro they say, but who knows - I was a 91B) These put up big fire balls, very high. It's very dangerous, from flash burns, and worse... Never had a seriuos casualty put I've seen it come close - the heat alone you could feel 50+ feet back
  20. Has anyone heard about shops doing Boron Carbide? I like the results of Hard Chroming, but I'd like a 'blued' finish. Found this link on PistolSmith.com http://blindhogg.com/boroncarbide.html This on Google: http://htna.bodycote.com/ (they seem to have a place in Fremont, CA - if anyone has direct experience with them, that would be great) Thanks
  21. To add to rhino's: Beretta 92: The Beretta's are great. I shoot a 92FS, but they are a little limiting. The triggers suck, and need to go to a smith to get them fixed asap. There are posts in the 'Stock/Limited' forum about that. And, they can't have the sights changed. The front sights are fixed (so no Fiber Optic), and the backs... nothing. But, they do shoot great, very reliable, and very cheap to shoot. I think Steve (see other forum) shoots an Elite or Elite II. It's a more common Stock/Production gun. I have yet to see (in my vast 5 local matches) another 92FS yet. I bought it, before I started USPSA, and because it was the standard Army issue (I was a 91Bandaid) Kimber: For the extra 75 bucks, go for the Kimber Custom Target. It gives you adjustable sights, and if you ever want to change to Bo-mars or something else, you can without having to have the slide milled.
  22. The loads I just chron'd the lowest was 153 ( TiteGroup @ 5gr), I'll go back and do some 4.6 and 4.8s. Then run a few hundered through. And lighten the spring.. I don't think I could get < 140, so that shouldn't be a problem I've see factory 9MM leave it when you hit low, but center or above always take it down. I think, although I do take much more time with the 9mm waiting to see ti drop. Aren't they supposed to be set to 125? I know they're just 'calibrated' by feel. Getting my 9MM up to 140+ would be pushing preasures I think.
  23. If you really want a limited gun, not a L-10: You can get an SVI. Talk to them on the phone. It's possible to buy a 45, take possecsion, then have it sent back (un-shot) for factory adjustments 10 days later. That adjustment will make it a 40. It should be close to 2K-2.2K depending on how crazy you go with the builder. There's also a few other places where you can get them, granted it will take longer than an off the shelf Kimber. Try Speedshooters - they're in California. Other STI builders will do the same. But... L-10 with a 1911, with mods is lots of fun, and about half the price
