  1. Thanks Shred, I just got this SKB case (Xmas came early) - very well built - thanks for the recommendation - and it will easily fir in a duffle, or soft side. Erik, I'll buy yours too if it's just in your way.
  2. thanks Erik.... get's me a starting place
  3. Steve, I wasn't trying to insult or defame you. I tried to open the page a couple of times - and couldn't - When I went to the homepage, I saw your warning, and figured (based on that) the pages were very large - although my cache couldn't confirm it. What I meant from the size doesn't seem to be true, I read that as pages vs. site - I'm sure the site as that amount - different venacular. And upon opening the page site, IE, took my CPU to 99%. There's something on the page that my browser didn't like. I don't have the typical setup as most users, and it does cause me abnormal problems sometimes. I do develop websites for a living - so I do have more debugging tools enabled than the majority of people do. There is a lot of good information on the pages I could see. I can open all the webpages except for: page8.htm. If I'm having the problem, perhaps others will too? If it helps: Netscape 7.02 opens it fine - quickly with no problems IE 6.0.2800.1180 had the problemm, and still does. I'd more than happy to share mty configuration, etc. if it would help you or your site in any way. My apologizes, Dave
  4. I have a few maunals, just can't find good information on Plated (not lead) bullets... Specifiacally, Berry's in this case...
  5. I editted this post - while I am having problems with IE 6 opening this site, Netscape and other IE browsers are not having problems - probably the carbon based unit on this side - Dave
  6. I went throigh searching for "Plated and Jcketed", found lots of info, sounds like most people don't think the plated are worth it... but I have to see for myself. I bought 6 different sizes for 9, 40 and 45 - to try with different powders. My question is: How do the powder charges compare? Compared to Jacketed (I use mostly Zero's and some MG now) - would I start a few .1gr lower or ?? Just looking for a ballpark. Thanks, Dave
  7. Rich - good point - I was really posting to put forward the "larger bin" idea.. (then my cheap side added the 2nd) - I don't know if most people are aware the bigger ones fit the same way (at least on a 550)
  8. 4th'ing Langdons - It's smoother and lighter: DA was 12+, now 8 SA was 8 now 5 (or so). $85 well worth it. Worse was shipping costs (FedEx next day ~ $48) - but since Ernie's so far out, they didn't make the guarantee, and it was free I got the Level II job on a 92 and a 96 (never got the Federal advice though) - and I only shoot Winchester primers becuase they, like me, are cheap - never a problem
  9. There was a mini-thread started under "Reloading Benches" in the Gallery section.. I didn't want to Hijack that thread... If you have a "Container Store" in your area, they make larger bins like these (the smaller one is the dillon one, dillon just put's thier name on it) - the medium one must hold 400+ 9MM - and it attaches the same way, just slide it on - I haven't had one slip or break - Or, if you just want more of the small bins, they're 0.89 - for quick change outs http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Produ...62645&CATID=166 Dave
  10. Try a couple different ways to post. Use the image tag, but leave out the: img tags lines This was the "Public Link" from Village for me: "<" img src="http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-12/524448/PW800_F_Sm.Jpg" width=200 height=267 ">" To post on Brian's forum use the IMG button and just keep this: http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-12/524448/PW800_F_Sm.Jpg
  11. Flex, here's another: http://villagephotos.com/index.asp
  12. I got a tip from Bucky and Duane (in a post about Safairland 771's moving) - about putting skateboard tape on the inside surface of the mag holders, then putting them on. They don't move at all, and there's nothing to come loose - very cheap - and you probably have some already
  13. Thanks for the tips, I'll try this Thursday at the AP range. I was trying it on the target range (slow, aimed fire, practicing groups). I wear plugs and muffs during matches, I'll try it for this too.
  14. I just watched Matt's 3rd DVD, the "Brian Interview". I'm trying to step back and get to basics, and not worry about speed. I went out Sunday, trying to "watch the sights lift". It just wasn't working. I could see the barrel arching up, but definetly my eyes are closing when the shot breaks (or it's just so fast I can't see them lift off - but I suspect the former) What's a good way to start? I think Brian was talking about shooting from the bench to start. Do you start with softer loads to "see" then move up? I could start with my 9mm, before trying it with the 45? And litterally resting the butt on a sandbag, or just your wrists, or? Thanks, Dave
  15. I'm still trying to decide if the soldier that was about to throw in the frag grenande, but stopped, did us a favor or not.
  16. Which Rainier 200gr are most people using? SWC, RN, FP, HP?
  17. Vince, this is pretty old, but there's some other good quotes here... http://www.welovetheiraqiinformationminister.com/ unfortunately nothing about this latest nerws... Favorites include: "I triple guarantee you, there are no American soldiers in Baghdad."
  18. Another way for Humidity control... I use something called 'Star Brite' no damp. It's these granuale in a little cup, that sucks the water out of the air. The refills are ~ $3, available at marine stores. One lasts for 8-12 months - just pour the water out of the cup thingy (very technical term) when it starts getting noticeable
  19. Change Tyro's STI to SVI, and... there it is... I know that that wasn't exactly the answer, it's just a way for people from California to get a nice limited (or open I guess) gun And Montana wins over Texas - Montana has great trout fishing... hmm Texas has Thunder Ranch hmm..
  20. Anyone know Cheryl personally? Her voice mail service, mail box is full, I tried yesterday too. Or as an alternate, a different email address? Thanks, Dave
  21. Most of the mods Erik's talking about are available under <Internet Options><Security><Custom Level> After 5.0, I think they just started grouping them to make it easier for admins - generally the levels are pretty good - like someone mentioned email is worse - some people will open anything... once Like Erik says, at the very least ALWAYS prompt, but if you don't need them, disable ActiveX - we use them for inhouse - they're full programs, we can do anything we want to the machine.... Signed Java applets have the same issues, but at least they're signed
  22. If you use IE 5.5 or higher version (sorry Mac/Unix people - I think MS stopped both those at 5.0) there's a very good Pop-up blocker available from Google. http://toolbar.google.com For sites that you want the pop-ups (like this one, for PM messages, etc.) you can allow them on a site by site basis. There's some tracking things you might want to turn off. Read the text Sometimes you'll see 'pop-ups' are really moving <Div> tags, can't catch those, but it'll get the vast majority of real pop-ups. It makes really annoying sites, quite tolerable
  23. TL - Check his profile...
  24. I have them on a SafariLand - they were loose enough they moved way too easily - with the screw completly tightened. I did all for pouches with the skateboard tape (3M - medium rough) that semed to be the fastest, and after thinking about it, I figured the velcro would come off over time - they don't move at all now These are 771s for single stack 1911, maybe they don't adjust as far? Or my new belt (just got it) is thinner than older ones?
