  1. Mix the left over with enough new to fill the hopper, shake it up. Pour in the hopper... it would be so diluted, it couldn't make a difference.
  2. You're avatar is only 32x32, you can easily stretch it to 64x64 with almost any program (exceot paint). Brian will probably need to delete your old one. I'd post if for you, but there's no web address I could give that the firewall gods would like
  3. Following up on Hungry Beagles post, what PF is resonable for a .40 for Production class? I'm shooting 173 now, but that was just for target shooting, and at the time I wanted it to make major, now with Production, I want something softer. I was thinking around 140. Is that too low?
  4. I'm just getting ready to replace my FS with a Dawson .90 FO, I've never tried one, but if I don't like it I'll go back. On a side quesiton: I use an Uncle Mikes Kydex holster, will the FO hang up on it?
  5. At our range, the Action Pistol is over the berm, and can't be seen from the normal range, didn't even know it was there, never heard of the sport... finally met someone at the range shooting an Open gun, started talking. Took the intro course in April. Now after many $$$'s later, I'm still bad but having a great time. Thanks to everyone in this forum, either responding directly or as I search thorugh old posts! It's very word of mouth, until you're in it, and start getting Front Sight, or get to this forum (or Matt's), there's very little info out there.
  6. If you can get it to sort by headstamps too, I'll be your first customer
  7. There was some posts here talking about echos off the walls being recorded. They were talking about indoor ranges, but there was some discussion about outdoors as well. maybe search for echo? Sorry I couldn't place it better

To stick at all, or after tumbling? I'm using a permanent marker (ok 2, red and black), seems to be ok, but I haven't tumbled yet
  9. I've seen posts (Brian's or Matt's books maybe), about 9MM being way sensitive to short OALs, with huge increases in pressure. I would think 1.15+ would be more typical. [rookie mode on] it seems that the longer you can use the beter for this petite case

It is much easier to see the side marked brass. Let us know how long it takes to mark them up this way. After tumbling, will any/much of the color be left? I'll be on the look out for your new colors next match
  11. I couldn't find this in the FAQs, if it's there I apologize in advance. Is it better to go with Conventional or Variable recoil springs?
  12. [sorry - thread drift] instead of locking, use cable ties, and keep a couple in an outside compartment, so when TSA does cut them (and they will) you can put one back. Also, make sure you have something to cut the tie off, or a tie (TSA) they might put on. On an Intl flight TSA put on some really strong ties, very hard to get back off
  13. Thanks for the input. I think I've got my solution then - except for the red vs. green , but for $2, I can try both Which height front sight did you put on?
  14. Ok, I didn't... I've seen stainless rust (maybe oxidize would be better of what I've seen), just figured it wasn't as pure or something. Did you find a new place to have it done? I'm curious as to how much it would cost.

Erik, now you need a little visual cue for us (whoever's on brass), so we know what brass the shooter was using. Something to say "40S&W, green/red". People that shoot with you often will know, but the other people on the squad (like me) never know. You'd probably get more back if people knew what to look for.
  16. Besides cosmetics, is there differences in the slide wear, from one to the other? My current Kimber has almost 3,000 rounds through it. It's only a couple months old, so I'm not sure how it'll look long term. Especially in areas I don't see (like under grips, under the grip safety, internally, etc.). I was thinking that the SS would prevent corrosion more, especially when shooting near 'the bay' or while it's raining. There's no external wear marks I can see, but I can see inside the slide, wear the bluing is gone. I use that as a visual cue where to make sure the slide-glide goes.
  17. I read somewhere (Matt Burketts book?) that alot of the 'noise' is actually vibrations tranmitted to your ears/head from shooting. Since hearing is really vibrations, makes sense.
  18. Anyone tried these these double ring sights? http://www.jprifles.com/DoubleRingSights.shtml My current plan is to replace the front site with a Dawson FO site, try that with the stock Kimber Adjustable, and if that needs help, replace the rear with a Bo-Mar. Just wondering if these ring sights are worth a look Thanks, Dave
  19. PistolSmith has been very helpful... Still hard to know what fits Kimbers better (espescially the MagWell), I'd like it to look seamless. With the Front FO sites... will I need a new holster (I use a Uncle Mikes Kydex now, although I'm thinking of a CR Speed)? Has anyone looed at the Wilson books, videos? Any good?
  20. Ok, I'm new , I see that alot, what is hardchrome? It has to be done after the fact right? And it's done to SS or Blue or both?
  21. I got "File not found" after the submit. Is that real bad or real good?
  22. I'm ordering a new Kimber, and trying to decide between the Stainless or Blued finish. For those people that have had or used Stainless version of pistols, have you found the light color to be distracting in USPSA? I like the look of Blue, but I'm thinking of Stainless for the wear properties. Thanks, Dave
  23. It's not apples/apples but close. I'm shooting a 124 Zero with TiteGroup and get these: 3.8 = Avg 1006fps = 124.7PF 4.0 = Avg 1066fps = 132.1pf 4.2 = Avg 1087fps = 134.8pf So I ned at least the 4.0 (maybe 3.9, but with less cushion) to get the minimum 125pf for USPSA Make sure you chron your loads My OAL = 1.15

  25. Monk CSI - only the Vegas edition - David Caruso, can't believe they gave him another show Raymond - only the old ones. They ran out of material 3 years ago 24 - until the daughter was kidnapped for the 4th time, on the same show Law & Order: CI - with Eggar World Poker Tour - Travel Channel - stumbled on, it's facinating Jeff Corwin
