  1. Just a reminder: coming up... March is Colon Cancer Awareness month. https://healthfinder.gov/nho/MarchToolkit.aspx
  2. If you're squeamish about it.. suck it up and don't put it off. http://www.cdc.gov/cancer/dcpc/resources/features/colorectalawareness/ Colorectal cancer screening saves lives. If you're 50 years old or older, talk to your doctor about getting screened. Among cancers that affect both men and women, colorectal cancer (cancer of the colon or rectum) is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. I've been fairly healthy my whole life, nothing at all remarkable, doctor visits were few and far between. I had no symptoms of any kind. After the 2012 SMM3G, I went in to g
  3. Bitcoin.. it's seems to more like a commodity than money, it's more volatile than trading frozen orange juice
  4. we did 2 upgrades. no issues so far.. (except the machine doesn't seem to go 'to sleep' like it should) it is different enough from windows 7, that it can be hard to find how to do a few things. And Edge, I don't care for it at this point, and I'll stick with Chrome Windows 8.. someone uses Windows 8?.. I thought that was like Windows Vista or Windows ME... no one actually used it.. lol
  5. Supposed to be about 81 today, but yesterday and last night the surrounding mountains got a nice dusting of snow.. odd to see at the end of July
  6. Hottest day in a while.. blistering 85 degrees... 27% humidity.. but you all be laughing at us in the winter
  7. I always liked this, I heard in New Zealand.. looked it up for inclusion here from Wiki During the 1980s, then Prime Minister of New Zealand Rob Muldoon was asked about the increasing exodus of New Zealanders leaving the country to work in Australia. His comment was that by doing so, they were raising the average IQ of both countries.
  8. But it's a dry heat! It's been 90/90 here for a week or more. that's the worst! i hate humidity! eta - We were in DC once it was 95/95 (I think) - worst weather of my life
  9. Sprinkles are for winners

  10. That's crazy.. I didn't have any risk factors either.. waiting 2 years... not sure if i would still be here or not.
  11. Funny.. spring can get your hopes up.. Tuesday it was 66 at about 16:00.. 2 hours later it was low 30s and snowing.. we got about 6 inches by yesterday afternoon... 16 this morning
  12. The low is 19 degrees below the forecast low? how can they be that far off? With the batting average of today's weather forecasters, you're surprised ? lol -nope I'm genuinely amazed sometime how far off they can be.
  13. You need to find a better forecaster app.. every time - the current low is much lower than the forecast.. what's up with that? lol
  14. But it's different.. it doesn't need to be as heavy, just wind resistant. wind chill only affects bare skin wicking away the warm air next to the skin or evaporation >> Wind-chill or windchill, (popularly wind chill factor) is the perceived decrease in air temperature felt by the body on exposed skin due to the flow of air <<
  15. It feels colder, but it's too subjective.. a wind chill of 10, can feel much colder that a true temp of -10 (clear/sunny/calm/no humidity).. but i don't worry about pipes with wind chill of 10, but i hate to shovel snow in it we get cold temps here, not like Fairbanks AK or Havre MT, but -30 occasionally.. reported wind chills of -40 to -50 are possible - but what does that really mean?
