I guess I'm not high speed low drag enough to justify dropping almost $300 on safety glasses. I do wear prescription lenses and bi- focal contact lenses so I realize how expensive eyewear can be. Issue is, I'm hard on glasses of any kind. Prescription or otherwise. I'm more inclined to buy something I won't cry over if they get slung off my face or stomped and scratched or sat on or chewed by the dog.

For a 180 at local club level, I would have called out, "180!" Then I would have warned her and told if she does it again, then its a DQ. Also it was obvious the gun was unloaded, so warning. Had she swept someone, DQ. A DQ can be very discouraging. Especially with new shooters. ( reminds me, never RO for my wife)

Well I received my Hotgates 762 brake Monday. I must say it is a beautifuly machined and perfectly finished piece. I installed it with a Delta P designs adapter. I have a Scout NM .062 front sight arriving Friday. I was luckiy enough to find it at Numrich. For those of you that don't know the shorter M1A barrels require a taller front sight. I have an early model M1A-A1 Bush Rifle. Which came out years before the Scout Squad. It's 18 an 18inch barrel with a 1 in 11 twist. It came equipped with a NM .072 front sight but I wanted better long range sighting ability so I'm going with the narrower sight.

I've tried them and thought they would be the shit. I can't wear them to shoot. At work around screaming aircraft engines they are really good and pistol shooting is fine as well. The problem is shouldering a rifle or shotgun the recoil transmitted into my cheek weld causes ear pain due to the plugs.

I've been following a similar thread on ARFcom where a guy is using RotellaT. No cleaning for more than 1000 rounds, he then cleaned and the carbon normally hardened and caked to the bolt tail comes off easily with a fingernail.

The ROs at my club are very good about showing you the timer and the time entered on the pad before they save it. We used to have each shooter initial the score sheet for each stage confirming their times were correct, due for the most part to lawyering scores after they were posted. Honest mistakes are one thing, deliberate score tampering is another.

Co-exprs will this fit the Smith Enterprise M14 5/8-24 muzzle brake adapter? If so I'd like to run one on my M1A and see how it works out.

I had my Versa Max set at the CC position on the stock adjustment plate. I've since put it at the BL setting giving 1/4 right cast to bring the pattern more to the left and 1 7/16 drop vs the 1 1/2 drop hoping to bring the pattern down a little. I've yet to shoot it to see what effect these changes make. Hopefully this Friday morning.

Another M1A mount that is very solid and doesn't use the hole on the side of the receiver. http://www.m14.ca/M14_M1A_CASM_Scope_Mount_EX.html I've seen that one and it seems very strong but it mounts where the rear sight lives. I'd rather be able to remove the scope and mount and have irons ready and not have re-assemble the entire rear sight as a result.

Probably going with a Sadlak.

It has generous eye relief at the listed 4" but not long enough for a scout rifle. I may still mount one on my M1A since my eyes are not so good with irons at distances over 100 yards. I like everything I've read about this scope.

I finally was able to run some Fiocchi 7/8oz low recoil slugs thru my Versa Max. I am highly dissapointed. From 15 yards on an IDPA cardboard target aiming center of target put every slug on the upper right side of the target in the shoulder. Not sure how to correct this. Also at some point the mid bead departed the gun. Using an LM choke with a Carbon Arms 10+1 mag tube. These same slugs thru my Winchester pump are just a few inches high but centered using the same choke, Nordic 10+1 tube with Nordic clamp.

Hey guys whats the max eye relief on this scope? I'm wondering if I could mount it scout rifle style on my M1A?

Kydex reinforced contour belt from Comp-Tac. Made by Minotaur for Comp-tac. Looks like a normal belt not "tacicool".

I use a Black Dog 50 round drum.

I wear hightop Merrels most of the time or my Wolverine work boots. I've been looking for something with a more agressive tread since our local matches are in the morning on wet grass. I don't like feeling as if I'm going to bust my ass if I move or stop quickly.

Is the Spikecross legal? Is it not considered a cleat?

We'd love to but I can't get off work unfortunately. I'm hoping to make the August 16th shoot. Will definitely be at the all shotgun in July at Tarheel.

You watched me running the "pogo stick" on the 31st. I need more practice loading but need the sharp edges smoothed out. I'm thinking of shooting Heavy on July 12th and 13th instead of the Versa Max. ( Colleen is still looking for a P3G shirt.)

Ballet shoes? Sweet, those will go great with my baby stroller and my 56 round shotshell chest rig.
