I have a Carbon Arms 10+1 mag tube installed on my Synth VM. The tube is stainless with a carbon fibre sleeve over it. The extension/ end cap is aluminum. I do not have a VM Comp model.

The VM mag extension is a metal tube with a carbon fiber sleeve over it.

I thought I read somewhere the re-release of the 17L would not be Gen4. Supose to be available around June. I'd like ot know as well where to preorder. (nevermind GlockMeister)

Uh, no. Traditional would be land and groove rifling. Glock barrels have either polygonal or octagonal rifling. The .45 auto barrels are octagonal. I have shot quite a bit of lead in the stock barrel with no issues but I also clean after almost every range visit.

There is a variation allowing an optic on the rifle only. Some of us need some help seeing tiny little steel plates at 200 yards and beyond.

I have one in my G21 which I bought to shoot lead. No issues. You will notice that when you compare the chamber of the KKM to the Glock, the KKM has more support. I'm ordering one for my G17 as well.

I've found as some here have that often I do very well on the first stage. I'm more relaxed and just letting it happen. Then the following stages, I seem to fall apart trying to go faster and begin playing catch up which makes it worse. Often I'll think about how I'm going to approach and shoot a stage only to completely forget all that when the buzzer sounds. At times when I work as SO I'll see where guys are making mistakes and think ok remember when your up don't do that, only to completely blow the stage just like I said I wouldn't do.

Some guys are using Rotella-T with good results. I like Slip2000 EWL. I've been trying Fire Clean recently. Both are good. I may try the Rotella as well. Remember if you don't have time to clean... lube it!

I've bee using Titegroup for the last 3 years but I'm out now and haven't been quick enough to get it online in at least a year. Moving to 700X since It's what I have at the moment. Will try some loads this weekend.

Midwest shooters had 8lb jugs of Titegroup for a few minutes the other day,I just missed it.

lol thats an awesome stage. Ive got one, but the first load is off a Taccom (and of course i screwed it all up). Did a lot better with the IPs after that but having a sling still really screws with you. Why did you have a sling on your shotgun?

I like that trend, it keeps me from needing to stuff my thumb up in the gun. I couldn't get a shell in the tube on my stock Versa Max without jamming my thumb in it. I like loading shells with the same motion I use to shuck corn.

Nice set up Jesse. I just ordered two 2.8 TL units. After seeing that 28 round chest rig I'm thinking it would make me look like a retarded sucide bomber although I'm betting it will be very fast to load from. Chest rig, pushing a baby stroller, multigun style.

My club let me use my AR pistol with a conversion in it. The match director just said " sure you can shoot it in open but you're going to be at a disadvantage , I was turning faster times than I did with my Ruger MKII. The only comments were "is that really a pistol?"

I'm picking up my Versa Max today. I'll shoot it a bit and it going to Benny Hill next week to get massaged. I plan on calling and asking their take on bolt lightening for the Versa Max. If it's not needed I my opt to not have that done. I'd like to hear it from them before I decide.

Speaking of RIO Has anyone used the RIO Brenneke slugs?

The feel and grip of a firearm is ultimately a personal choice. A friend of mine tends to have extremely tough dry hands and all but the most aggressive textures feel slick to him. He textured his Glock so heavily it literally looks and feels like very rough tree bark. Much like his hands. When I shot it, it was painful on my tender little girl hands. I like a finer tacky texture.

I shoot centerfire pistol with my G17 and rimfire carbine with my AR in Steel Challenge, its good practice. I shoot my AR build with a rimfire conversion and two TACCOM pressure plugs installed along with TACCOM extractor and firing pin and I use a 50rnd drum mag. It runs without a hitch. I found a single plug still allowed too much movement of the conversion and had the occasional malfunction. Its an older CMMG that doesn't lock into the barrel extension. Because it has a muzzle brake it put me in the open class but who cares. I'm there to have fun and get some good practice in. Had an SO say, "everything about that set up is wrong for Steel Challenge, Conversion kit in an AR, drum magazine. But it works. Shoot your AR with a conversion, have fun.

Congratulations Jesse! Yesterday I ordered a 12Q and received an automated email confirming my order and within 30 minutes another from Kevin at Invictus thanking me for my order. I also had an issue placing myself on the backorder list for some 2.8 carriers and Kevin adressed that immediately. He's Johnny on the spot. Looking forward to trying these out.

I have two JP captured springs and i've never had an issue asside from failing to lock back on the last shot when the springs were brand new. After firing a couple of mags full on each the issue dissapeared.

Thanks Lee and everyone who made today's match possible. I was glad to be able to make everyone in my squad feel really good about their shooting. If I could practice more than just shooting a match I wouldn't be dead last. It was a fun day in spite of the brisk temperature. Looking forward to the next one.

I've shot IDPA for the last two years and more recently steel challenge. Having never shot USPSA would it be foolish to make this all classifier my first match ?
