  1. Awesome thread, I need to do this with my TTI M2 before I shoot my next match. The last match I shot had some 80 to 90 yard slug shots on Larue targets.
  2. Is the inside of the MOA mag tube extension beveled like a Nordic tube where it meets the stock mag tube? If not that may be where the spring is hanging up. Or you may need to bevel the Stoeger a bit.
  3. All this goes out the window once you see Hunter Cayll shoot.
  4. Could you post a video of it ? He does it so fast I am have a hard time figuring it out. no vid, sorry. Keith, shoots one round, bolt locks back flips gun over, grabs 4 shells as the loading hand comes up to the load port he hits the bolt release with ,I'm guessing, the heel of his loading hand. loads 4 shells. puts his thumb on the shell release at the same time he hooks a finger over the bolt handle. in one move, thumb hits shell release, finger pulls bolt backward. One motion. Flip the gun up and shoulder. The key is to combine as many movements as possible into one action. Keiths move is very smooth. He doesn't chop it up into seperate movements. Try it. The light bulb will go on. At least it did for me.
  5. So after a bit of practice, I actually used this at the 2nd Remington VM Challenge at Tarheel 3 gun this past weekend on an empty start and once when I ran my gun dry. The key is to hit the shell release and rack the bolt in one movement. Sort of a pinching motion. So, when you have an empty gun in one hand and a handful of shells in the other this is the answer, this is very fast.
  6. I have used Federal, Wolf and mostly CCI primers. I'll probably jinx myself but I've never detonated a primer while reloading. I use a Rock Chucker and a Dillon 550. I've had a few primers stand on their side and crushed them into the primer pocket on rifle and pistol brass. I don't really see how they did not go off. I use a steady pressure when seating primers. I heard and felt these crunch but again no detonation. Always wear your eye pro guys just in case.
  7. 1. Hit the bolt release with the heel of the hand 2. Load as normal 3. Hit shell release with thumb 4. Rack bolt with one finger He's wicked fast with it. I learned to do his method loading quads weakhand after his first facebook video. It's faster than the throw one in the chamber quad method, as long as you can find the shell release. The vid is deceptive then. You never hear the bolt release prior to the load. You do not hear the thunk of the shell release. I'm going to practice this. Also why no match saver?
  8. I can't see it. I've watched him 50 times, I'm still watching it... Keith is obviously a professional magician, and an accomplished one at that, his slight of hand is that good. I can't see it.
  9. Today I watched a short video clip of Keith Garcia doing some load 4 practice on Taran Tactical's FB page. He loads one shell in his M2 and fires one shot then the bolt locks back and he loads 4 then chambers a round and fire one shot. How does he load the mag tube on a locked back bolt? My M2 locks the load gate/lifter in the down position until the bolt is forward. I want to be able to do this with my TTI M2. https://www.facebook.com/TaranTactical?fref=pb&hc_location=profile_browser
  10. It is a good idea to occasionally run a patch with alcohol thru your primer tubes to clean out residual primer compound which can accumulate over time. If the patch comes out yellow, that's primer compound.
  11. Approx. Round count is posted. http://tarheel3gun.com/update-for-event-2-of-the-remington-versa-max-national-shotgun-series-championship-new-hill-nc/ ROUND COUNT: Approximately 220 Rounds of Shot (Max size #6) 25 Rounds of Buck Shot 30 Slugs
  12. Oakley bought out ESS a few years ago. This is what they did with the ESS patents. if you can find an old set if ESS prescription inserts that mount with the nose piece behind the lens, they may work. These are overpriced for what they are. I will stick to the ESS I got from my rep when they sold out. ESS is still selling that design. I just ordered a set of ICE today. 3 sets of lenses and half the Oakley price.
  13. That is why Nordic will tell you to tighten the barrel nut nice and snug then back it off a1/4 to 1/2 turn then install and tighten the clamp. Allows the mag tube enough play that the clamp doesn't stress or deflect the barrel. Also I'd say get two shorter Nordic tubes and a coupler if you plan on traveling with your shotgun. Allows you to take just the end tube off for easier packing. My M2 fits a bit too snugly in my Pelican 1750 for my liking with a +9 tube.
  14. Great thread Robco, I have to remind myself to keep both eyes open. I was always taught to keep my non-dominant eye closed. Tough habit to break. I'm going to look into local Sports Vision doctors, I never knew such a thing existed. Especially since I wear prescription lenses.
  15. I was fortunate enough to be squadded with Jerry Miculik at the VM challenge recently. He said. "To shoot fast you have to see fast." I'm understanding more and more exactly what he meant. I'm just not sure how to train myself to "see" faster. One thing that has helped as one of his videos states keeping my head up, face flat and bringing the sights up to my eye and not hungering over to get into the gun.
  16. To shoot fast you have to see fast.
  17. I like the looks and shooting specific design of the Tombstone but I can't get an SI account.
  18. Thanks, good read. I guess I'll find out. If these Fiocchi will work. They are not the lightest Fiocchi loads.
  19. I'm going to try some Fiocchi target at 1170fps and 1oz shot in my TTI M2 this week. I pretty confident it will cycle.
  20. Good info Kurt. I just recently aquired aTTI M2. It's been awesome.
  21. I used a mixture of 90-99% alcohol with lanolin mixed 20:1. Pretty much what Dillon spray lube is. I found 16:1 a bit too thick. Spray it, let it dry. Works great on rifle and pistol cases. I tumble them for 20-30 min to get the lube off the loaded rounds then I wipe then down with a dryer sheet to get the walnut dust off them.
