  1. i have and like the harris s-brm. added these two pieces to it which almost doubled the cost but it does everything i need. AMERICAN DEFENSE MANUFACTURING - PICATINNY HARRIS-TYPE BIPOD MOUNT KMW LONG RANGE SOLUTIONS - LOCK NUT POD-LOC
  2. i think it was elsewhere on here i saw, but if you email century/canik, they'll mail you a reduced power RSA (for free), and they just did for me, haven't swapped them out yet.
  3. well i disagree about the trigger, has the longest take up i think of any handgun i've shot, the break is nice though. i replaced mine with a freedomsmith which took away most of the take up. and super yes on accurate. shooting one with a vortex razor dot, at roughly 10-15 yds, was real easy to put them all in something like a 1" group, slow fire of course. and from my experience, the same glock 100% reliability.
  4. as someone who goes back and forth a lot between iron-sighted and red dot handguns, finding the dot is always the hard part for me. while some of these newer dots (ie triji sro) have big windows, the dots also sit up somewhat higher. for instance, the dot on the sro is .770 above the base while the vortex viper is .564, almost a quarter inch lower. do the larger windows make it easier to find vs lower height over bore?
  5. i don't think a spring alone is going to fix an otherwise crappy/mediocre trigger group. even on their (jp) really nice ctr rifle i replaced their trigger group with a geissele.
  6. i have the gopro hero (small cube) and it came with a few mounting brackets. i drilled and bolted the lowest one to the bill on my cap, at the rear of the bill for more stability. zero issues with it. i also have the sony action cam and zip tied one of the mounts to the top of my earmuffs band. that works great also but sitting up higher i've smacked it a few times on props, low-hanging tents etc.
  7. yeah i'd say you need to get the slide milled, just like for glocks. i believe there are some plates that mount via the rear sight dovetails but not sure if sti has a different cut than glocks etc. i think sti has/had a Host model that was similar to glock mos with various mounting plates. you prob know but sti's aren't legal in uspsa carry optics as they're not legal in production, but pretty sure they're legal in idpa carry optics as long as size, weight, etc are met. and most shooting uspsa open have their red dots frame-mounted.
  8. most of my glocks have the warren sevigny competition, wide rear notch and fiber optic front. of course, just bought a slide milled for a red dot sight for one of them...
  9. use ammoseek.com for most factory ammo. i had a fellow shooter recommend atlanta arms reloads (think they call it 'select) years ago and i've shot a bunch of it without issue (40 major).
  10. you can get some mag extensions for your g22 mags that will get them to 140mm. i have some arredondo (+5 i think) that do that, sure others make them for glocks also. and as noted above, you can mill out your g17's slide for a red dot optic, that (carry optics) will also let you use 140mm mags (again, arredondo extensions or others). the arredondo extensions have run perfectly with both 9 and 40 factory glock mags, no tuning or anything needed.
  11. fyi, zeroed in armory told me they had a few gen 4 g17 slides (not showing on their website, i had to specify gen 4 in the order notes) so i ordered one of those. i got one of their windowed slides for $230 and with that they do (at least on black friday) the optic milling for free, code showing on their fb page. and free ship and that includes cerakoting after they mill.
  12. nice, any idea how to supersize this with free shipping?
  13. and even better, pre-milled for a vortex viper? also open to a used slide. thanks!
  14. shooters doesn't have a discount code, at least generally. email them that you're on brianenos and they'll set your account up with a general discount, but note that it doesn't cover everything they sell. from what i've seen, a buck off on some mbx magazines and none on others. if anyone is seeing better than that, lettuce (haha) know.
  15. thanks jack, kali and balakay, i have some deciding to do!
  16. thanks kali! hoping to get two larger matches in, but a major and a decent local would suffice.
  17. so i think come Jan or Feb, i will need to get away from the miserable cold. maybe hit florida for a week to 10 days. would like to hit two good matches on the weekends and then sitesee during the week in between the two. any suggestions for best time and coinciding matches? gtr swamp challenge on jan 3 - are there any good matches the following weekend? florida state on jan 17 - any good matches the weekend before or after? florida open on feb 13 - again, anything good the weekend before or after? other suggestions? thanks!

    43x holster

i got an aiwb holster from tulster and with the 43x, it's a game changer. the 43x being just a little thinner than their double stacks really makes a difference. and the clip, vs the soft loops or belt loop, REALLY makes a diff. super easy and quick to take on and off, don't need to re-thread the belt, try to snap the loop buttons etc. but for the OP, i believe that tulster also offers soft loops. gun/holster combo is not uncomfortable at all and i wore it a lot on the 3 day each way trip out to colo and back and for the most part forgot it was there.
  19. the triji sro seems to have the thinnest base, which should mean the dot is lower, but i guess with the larger window, the dot sits as high off the slide/bore axis, if not higher, than some of the others. and by the way, per triji, the sro dot sits a full 1/4 inch higher from the bottom of its base vs their rmr. anyone have any real world experience how easy it is to pick up the sro dot, vs some of these others. and on a glock gen 4 17 milled, if that makes a diff?
  20. i have a gen 4 g17. thinking of having it milled for a rmr / sro (supposedly the same base pattern). any idea if milled vs MOS affects brass hitting the optic/optic frame? and/or if getting it milled further back (ie so the rear sight dovetail is milled away) would help more?
  21. yeah, dawson lo pro on my dawson guns and cyclone on my brazos gun, no real favorite, like them both.

    STI DVC S

i asked sti a while back about shooting major in my 9mm steelmaster (predecessor to dvs-s). they said no prob with a spring change. i'd just contact sti and confirm it's still ok with the dvc-s and what spring weight they recommend. i never did shoot major thru it, just ended up getting their dvc open in 38 super.
