    Media Mail

Reminds me of the line by the Russian comedian, Yakov Smirnoff: "I read in paper ad saying 'BIG SALE...LAST WEEK'! What? They rubbin' it in I missed it? What a country media mail earns the title of snail mail
  3. One more reason the undersize die is used is to help minimize bullet setback.
  4. We have one. Used it in our state match and it did not present a consistent path for every shooter if this winger is set up as designed. I shot at Area 1 this year and the one there was not set like the one in posted in the OP. The one at Area 1 only had the heavy weight set (bottom half) and part with the target (top half) was not set to activate. If I had a pic I could post it so you can see how it was meant to be set up.
  5. Shiny. What was the subject of this post again? What followers are you using? I think you would have better luck with factory followers to get the slide to lock back on last shot. Maybe the STI ones might fit.

I know what you mean. I get sale flyers mailed to me and by the time I get them, the sale is already done.
  7. The spacers with the 9mm followers should help a lot. As for some of the rounds being nose down, the 9mm case is tapered so as you load the mags, some of the lower rounds will be nose down especiall in a mag without the 9mm spacer and follower.
  8. I love the flair that Johnny puts on the guns, just awesome looking. It'll make you shoot faster.
  9. I got my first diesel in 2006 and it's a GMC 2500 and I like it. Bought because of things I read about diesel trucks that can be made to produce more power with a plug in tuner. The price of diesel was reasonable at the time. I don't use the truck often, only going to the range on Sundays so it only has 21,000+ miles on it. I did buy the extended warranty after hearing how much these things cost to repair. That was a waste since I put so little miles on it. However, my brother bought a used 2005 GMC 2500 since he always wanted a diesel. His truck had about 71,000 miles on it and he bought the extended warranty. Soon after he bought it, he had to replace the idler and pitman arms, the door latch switch and something else. All those repairs would have cost more than what he paid for the extended warranty. Me, my truck needs the door latch switch since the dome light does not come on when I open the door. It cost me $218.00 (that is just for the part as I will install it myself). Check out prices for filters (oil and fuel) that you will change often, some guys buy in bulk to save money. Oil will be costly (I need 10 qts) especially the synthetic stuff. I use a Power Service Diesel Kleen additive to keep the injectors lubed (this can cost in the thousands if they have to be replaced). Knowing this, I tend to take better care of my truck. I keep a spare fuel filter in the truck in case the one mounted has problems (clogged, leaking) as the injectors don't like air. Be prepared to pay some bucks for bigger repairs if you can't do them yourself. I still love my truck but probably would buy a gasser if I did it all over again.
  10. Looks like I gotta find me one of them tungsten carbide dremel sized cutters.
  11. One thing comes to mind is the pressure is flattening the primer cups and flowing into the firing pin hole and the shiny spots is where the firing pin hole shears off some of the primer cup material. In combination with a reduced power firing pin/striker spring? Seen it happen before. Any pics?
  12. I've seen the bullet pushed back on those types of malfs with factory rounds too.
  13. Or buy a dedicated sight tool for that gun because the universal ones don't cut for the XD's.
  14. Don't know, I got two emails, one at 0858 and the second at 0920. It's a personal squadding link in it that took me to the squad list, no names visible there.
  15. Thanks for mentioning the squadding email, I was only going to the USPSA page and that one is not open, whew. Now I can go do stuff.
  16. See if your state has someone like an insurance commissioner to file a complaint.
  17. Thanks for the info. Might give Armscor another chance since they are more consistent.
  18. Or if you will only shoot/compete in 10 rd states.
  19. Usually I have a spare gun and each gun has: extra recoil spring extra AFTEC extractor fitted firing pin stop fitter ambi thumb safety spare batteries
  20. Check to make sure the stone spins true, otherwise the dimple will be huge.
  21. I tried using the special "drill bit" made for this purpose but found the slide stop too hard, so I used my Dremel with the burr bit to get started then finished with the bit.
  22. For me, there are times when: the bullet falls/lands sideways on the case and it won't go in the seating die; the case from the case feed does not slide into the shellplate and falls to one side; the old primer does not get punched out or is pulled back into the primer pocket and then the swager pushes it in even further;
  23. What about silver soldering on a pad then drill and tap it. That is what Briley did to my STI open guns and seems solid.
