  1. Piece of uncooked spaghetti noodle works. Put it in the block rotate until it drops and mark, punch, install. the knock out with cleaning rod. Real easy & cheap. geritm
  2. Shot a CZ for 1 season and tried all the tricks to make it reliable and it never was. Learned lesson, buy once cry once and got Benelli M2's and never looked back. Have a couple of friends that shoot Stoegers with good success and reliability. Reliability is the key. gerritm

    10-22s

We must be pretty lucky on our 10/22's just run well. All I ever did with stock Ruger 10 round mags was polish the feed lips & take off the rough edges and they have worked perfect for many rounds and matches. We do rotate about 12 or 15 of them. Take 6 up for each string, but almost never go to the extra one. gerritm
  4. Between 3 of us we shoot Titegroup in all of our pistols & PCC's. They tend to get pretty dirty. We clean/lube them every couple of matches depending on round count. I hate malfunctions and they never malfunction in practice. Deep clean before any major matches and then run rounds thru them before the major. Seems to work. gerritm

    10-22s

Forgot about this we have the Kidd SS mag latch plunger & heavier tension spring on both. The mags do vary and it is a good idea to keep them tight & aligned. gerritm

    10-22s

We have 2 that run as close to 100% as CCI ammo will allow. Here is what we did. Stock barrels, both are Ruger Target lite tension barrels. Kidd guide rod & spring kit matched to your ammo velocity, rod is hardened & spring runs much smoother less chatter. Change extractor & firing pin, don't remember which brand, but all good. TK, Kidd, or Volq. Biggest thing I did was take the bolt out & polish the inside of the chamber. I found a lot of overspray/paint and it was a rough surface. Also polished all the surfaces where the bolt rides. gerritm
  7. Decided just to get some anti-walk pins with the locks on them. gerritm
  8. We have several of these CMC PCC flat triggers in 3 different PCC's. Love the triggers, run them on all of our AR's & PCC's. The right side torx screw consistently comes loose on 2 of them. Never the left side. I have tried cleaning the pins with several different cleaners including alcohol and always use blue loctitie on the threads with no luck. Still comes loose, always the same right side top & bottom. Doesn't do this on our AR's. Any ideas? Really don't want to red loctite. Pin does not seem to walk even when it is loose. I tighten them sometimes during the match or when I clean them. Have lost the screws a couple of times. Thinking of just replacing them with the type that has the ties between the screws. gerritm
  9. We have used them and I have built a couple of PCC's with this combo for friends. They have all run as close to 100% as possible based on ammo. Used the top ramp in all. Have to use his BCG because of the cut for the top ramp. Used his comp. that came with. gerritm
  10. We use good 55gr out to 300 and 69 or 75 past. Depends on rifle twist & what it likes. Our rifles tend to like Sierra a little better than Hornady. Zero at 50 same at 200 and then use Strelok as a ballistic calculator matching to your scope and reticle for distances beyond. gerritm
  11. You can run these mag hooks tucked in your belt, but we have found they fit perfect in a .223 kydex mag pouch/holder that we run for 3-gun. gerritm
  12. Here in the Houston metro area 3-gun matches have declined. Not so much attendance, but clubs holding them. Several clubs are now offering on occasion 2-gun matches, pistol/rifle/pcc without SG. Some even allowing 22's to keep attendance up. One of our best 3-gun matches in the area is a modified UML match that basically allows almost any combo of guns to shoot. Rules are simple for shooting/scoring, 1 in A or 2 anywhere, paper is pistol, pcc, 22rilfe, or AR. Steel is pistol, pcc, 22, or shotgun. Whatever division you must shoot at least 3 targets with 2nd gun in stage. Has 1 stage out to about 100 yards for rifle only of your choice. gerritm
  13. We have 3 of them with many many rounds. Flat & curved. Been great. Also have CMC drop in triggers in 3 different AR's. Broke 1 spring over the years and thousands of rounds and CMC CS replaced the trigger with no hassle & no charge. gerritm
  14. We have a Ruger Target Light with the carbon fiber tension barrel and laminate stock. Been shooting it for several years. Not sure exactly what it weighs, probably right at or below 5#. Don't really care what the weight is because it is well balanced and very fast. After putting a few reliability parts including FP & Kidd charging handle with rod & springs and doing some minor polishing it runs as close to 100% as possible based on ammo. Stock trigger. Usually shoot CCI or Eley. Great gun. My granddaughter has won every local SC match with it. gerritm
  15. We have right around $1K total in her gun. We shoot with the Dissident guys and many other shooters with Dissident SG's and her VR80 is every bit as reliable and softer shooting. Dissidents are great, but past my pay grade. I run RIA 19 round mags with some minor fixes and it will also run my T&N MKA 1919 mags including the T&N 24 rounder. My buddy with the F12 has an FFL and also owns a Dissident SG. He has been running the F12 lately in 3-gun & falling steel matches with no problems. He likes to thoroughly test these guns before recommending them. I don't think other than breaking it in he has done anything to it. Has made the same mods to the RIA mags that I recommended. Not sure on the longevity of the SG. He probably has a couple of thousand rounds on it. Does run good Win AA 1250 & Fiocchi ammo. Have a couple of other shooters who run them and it will not run a whole match without several malfunctions. Not sure on them could be user error. Pretty sure they haven't done anything to the mags and I have noticed he runs whatever ammo he can find. We have 3 or 4 guys with them and have mixed reviews. gerritm
  16. This. My 19 YO granddaughter runs a fairly tricked out VR80 with Taccom buffer, comp, & T&N trigger, with the gas ports drilled out. Runs Win 1145 AA all day long. Super reliable, very soft and fast. Very accurate with slugs. gerritm
  17. Buddy of mine has run one off and on more for testing and seems pretty reliable with properly tuned mags and finding the right ammo it likes. gerritm
  18. We all run lighter Win AA 1145 loads in our shotguns. We all have the common chokes for each. VR80, MKA1919, & a Benelli M2. For most local matches depending on targets we run our mod chokes the majority of the time especially if there are spinners, heavy steel or small steel at distance. But depending on the match, targets, slugs, distance and shot size we will change based on the stage. From IC to IM and once in awhile even full. Base your choke on loads, targets, and distance, but Mod seems to work the majority of the time. gerritm
  19. I have 3 Taccom buffer systems in all of our PCC's with thousands of rounds. With the ammo shortage we have shot my reloads with varying bullet weights and factory ammo. Recoil changes slightly, but always back in the shoulder. dot movement does not change. gerritm
  20. I could agree with this if the first was a squib. You are all missing that there was at least 5 or 6 very experienced shooters within 10 feet of this besides the RO & score keeper. No sound or smoke, nothing to indicate a squib round especially if it had enough to get it that far down the barrel. Would have heard something. We all have amplified hearing pros. someone would have heard something and we all agreed nothing other than the normal click sound of the striker/FP. Need to be quite a bit of back pressure to split the barrel that bad and yet not hurt anything else. gerritm
  21. All good ideas, but how does whatever happened, if a squib, push 2 projectiles thru the barrel & cause enough pressure to split the barrel, but not damage the gun, mag, frame or slide or internal parts. I have never seen a squib round not get stuck, whether far enough to chamber a round behind it or not. I am sure we have not seen it all, but between all the other guys there was many many years of experience and could not figure it out. All had different opinions. gerritm
  22. We were all within 10 feet of the shooter and there was no indication of a squib. Only a click like a high primer. We have all heard squibs. Very experienced RO. Can't stop on a typical striker sound. Would not of thought if there was a squib round in the bore the second would have chambered & pushed both out. Nothing in the barrel, just split. gerritm
  23. Any ideas on what would cause this? Never seen it before. Many seasoned shooters heard and saw this, and no good ideas. Glock 40 with a newish Lone Wolf barrel His reloads, I believe plated 165 or 180, Titegroup 4.0grs. not sure on OAL, but he is an experienced reloader on a Dillon 650. While shooting the stage we all heard a click/no obvious squib poof sound or primer. We were close. Racked round out, did not find it. Next round chambered and went off with lots of smoke out of chamber and RO called stop. Did not blow out mag. Could not rack it. Went to safe table and disassembled gun. Found the Wolf barrel split completely top and bottom with no projectile stuck in barrel. Almost like it split on a seam. No obvious damage to gun as far as we could tell, just the barrel. Chamber was intact. Would have thought if it was a squib, bullet would be stuck in barrel. Out of battery? Double charge? If double charge would have thought more damage. Defective Wolf barrel? Ideas? gerritm
  24. This! I am left handed and have had this lower for several years and many thousands of rounds. Great quality, would recommend highly. gerritm
