  1. I have had real good luck with Berry's double struck 158 over 4.8 VV N320. Perfect for IDPA SSR.
  2. Listen to these men, They know things about shooting..............
  3. As a Food Store manager, at least 3 times a year, I have to squeeze into someones car because some idiot decided the blue strips next to a handicap space are his personal parking space. I back it out & apologize, then I call the cops to give the idiot a ticket!
  4. I think you are better off with a custom built pistol from a known name ( Brazo, Bedell, Gans, Hill etc..) The fit, reliability & trigger will come to be appreciated as time goes on. That said, there are often very good deals on used "name" pistols on this Forum. Good luck!
  5. I had to order one size larger than a normal for my shirts
  6. I would if I could figure out how to put one on my revolver! I do have one on a really old EGW race auto pistol, it looks to have been welded on, my weak thumb just "lands on it", so it gives a real good reference point. I don't think I really push down on it.
  7. They always say: Don't bring a knife to a gun fight match.... seriously, I hope you recover your blade, I hate losing things!
  8. Cabela's came through for me last week with 5000 federal 100's after a several month wait............. No sign of Winchester SR's yet, been back ordered almost a year
  9. Sorry to hear that, I was loaned an SSR for last years IDPA indoor nationals and it was a awesome!
  10. Both together if you want to keep hearing! What did you say?
  11. Sorry to hear of your loss. prayers sent.
  12. also not CZ but could be............
  13. I have some Safariland trays also, they are designed for wadcutters or flat pointed bullets, I used a dremmel to make half of them "round nose" bullet friendly! It is the way to go IMHO!
  14. Mike, is this a service you can offer? I am looking for a 10 shot 617 for steel, it sounds like your on to something good.
  15. Back to the question........ Define "WAIST" ? That is the key here...
  16. Take it apart & clean it. (remove primer filler assembly, lot's of stuff, including crushed primers can collect under the primer feed bar (depending on which 1050 you have) DO NOT LUBE IT! when you re-assemble.
  17. I am not a gunsunsmith, but have had the same issues in the past, ramp angles vary and yours may need to be cut. Easy way out is to vary your overall length to see if it will run on shorter (or longer bullets),using hollow points, I would try shorter first. Speaking only from past experience, not gunsmith knowledge............
  18. I am pretty sure you need to buy a whole new revolver in .38 super, then throw away everything else to get a cylinder.. Of course, I might be incorrect
  19. if you wonder about twist: http://www.schuemann.com/store/tabid/78/s-39-twist-rate.aspx LISTEN TO THE MAN, HE MAKES BARRELS..... Also how long have you had this problem? your comp ports may not be open or true enough for your bullets to clear.........LOOKING FOR CLUES IN THE COMP MAY NOT SHOW THE PROBLEM GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PROBLEM
  20. I agree, You can't go wrong with a package like that. Merlin, You want to get BOTH the 9MM & .38/.357 sets so you can set one up for .38 short colt! Then jump into ICORE
  21. I use a Model 002 "Cup Challenge" Competition Holster I thought Brian sold them , but they are here: http://www.holsters.com/competition/holsters/model002.asp not too much money for a good holster
  22. I would suggest you start witha simple model 10 or 64. They can be found for little money. Police trades, are often carried much, shot little. you can spend your money on bullets & practice, practice and practice some more your reloads! http://www.summitgunbroker.com/New_Standard_5.html
  23. I used to have the same problem until I started to check my batteries before each match. The battery compartment is not moisture proof. It really lets lubricant in, so pull your battery & check the contacts. I have found them to get "wet" just driving to a match in a pistol case on a hot day. It is best to check it out before the match. I hope this helps.
  24. Can't speak for GA, but Wally world, where I live is (Win 9MM 115 100ct),@21+tax, GA looks to be @25...........again, I can't speak for .40 nor where you are..........
