  1. I love this forum, my competition is always giving me ideas on how to improve!! Of course before I call Dirtypool my competition I need to be within at least a few % now don't I???
  2. Straight Clays; 4.2gr makes 169PF out of my Kimber singlestack using a 200gr. West Coast plated RN or SWC at 1.26". Sealevel, 75*, 80% humid. This load with a SWC is accurate, soft shooting but quick, no smoke, and not to mention cheap! Buy a chronograph it is the only way to find out in your gun, start low like 4.0 and work up 1 tenth of a grain at a time.
  3. ACOG's are great but here in the east where ranges are short I like an Aimpoint it is quicker for me close in than any other scope. In Arizona I liked my 2X7 Leupold or my ACOG.
  4. I don't want to shoot my skinny gun, I have to, WAAA I want my limited back. At this rate I will be shooting a singlestack at the Open.
  5. Wait till it runs 100% then send it in. I am learning this the hard way. Don't hardcrome, barrel, extractor, ejector, hammer, sear, or firing pin. I will help your frame to slide fit stay tight just about forever.
  6. That tread is my gun. It had a few problems when new, fixed by Josh and his lifetime warrenty, and it has now put in 6K troublefree rounds including 2 major matches.
  7. Ha Ha Ha now you know why I don't bring my wife to the matches, she would have to see me shoot against the likes of you and Paul.
  8. I have yet to meet someone who can cleanly stone the primary angle by hand. You can mount the sear in a fixture and clean up the contact angle with a fine stone.
  9. A syringe or small toothpaste tube with a screw on nozzle would be great. By the way, can Slide Glide be liquified in the microwave and poured into a syringe? I can get a good supply from the vet.

    A Memo To Pets

Its almost tax time and I still need a way to write off my dogs as dependents
  11. Wind will have more effect closer to the muzzle, use any of the free internet balistics programs and you can calculate it out. Say a 5mph wind out to 800 yd. as oposed to a 15 mph wind from 600 to 800. Even though the projectile is moving faster if you have a small deflection close in it will affect you more than a decent size one at longer range. Try sniper.com, or varment.com or some other precision shooting sights for links to balistics programs.
  12. The power mags are great if all you want to shoot is ball. I have had problems with them in several guns with hollowpoints, turns out the Wilsons feed the bullet in at a higher angle and work better for most. All it takes is one misfeed to screw up a whole match, go Wilson.

    .40 Dies

As good as the Market hall show is you wont find an EGW resize die. The Redding comp. seating die and the factory crimp die are great, but that EGW resize die is worth ordering will save a match someday as will the factory crimp die.
  14. I have to disagree with you on the automatic checkouts. By using an auto checkout you are taking a job away from a human worker and giving that profit to an oversees corporation. That person at the grocery store or home depot checkout is not making alot but they are working to earn a wage and pay taxes, this is a big step up from welfare. I rather deal with those "idiot slackers" working in the store than the unemployed beggars in the parking lot. We are loosing blue and white collar jobs at a horrendous rate, by keeping people gainfully employed we are helping keep crime down which in turn will help us keep our guns. Feel free to use LA, Detroit and NewYork as examples.
  15. We seem to be forgetting the fact that IPSC is a SPORT where you need to get yourself in physical shape as well as practice shooting. Isn't the idea to have a mix of stages and targets where you need to MOVE and shoot fast, as well as targets where you need to be able shoot 40-50 yard A zone hits. In my limited time shooting IPSC I have noticed the best shooters will work out with weights and run as well as practice shooting.
  16. Paul; So if I understand right, you re-borrow the SV and I shoot your new super duper open gun instead of the singlestack that I'm using because my perty new Limited gun is broken again, 3rd times a charm? we will both shoot the best matches of our lives
  17. It was. Or should I say the pic of that beautiful gun that has not worked right since I got it and has spent more time on a FedEx airplane and truck than with me at the range.
  18. Well I guess you finally figured out who I am.., to bad I had to tell you.. it was kind of fun giving you a hard time anonymously. Didn't I give you enough hints for the past six months, you think the pic of my gun would have been be a dead giveaway.
  19. Many airlines require that a locked pistol case be enclosed inside a regular piece of luggage, they don't want to be reponsible for one walking off as lots of airports still dont check bags leaving leaving the bag claim area.
  20. That is it, thank you and welcome to the forums. I couldnt find one anywhere.
  21. Give Browning a call they will probably ship you one for free as a warranty item. I took mine off and found I am faster out to about 40 yards.
  22. For the magazine tube, whatever you use inside in your pistol mags. Magslick, silicone, pledge? WD40 is one of the worst lubricants on the market, good for fishing baits though! Many oils will gum up and just gather junk.
  23. Why is this, Jerry is by far the best out there and he is the standard. Why is the scale not changed so someone is always the goal at 100%.
  24. Try a dark range practice session. I have found that I do best with a plain flat black serrated rear and tritium dot front. If you can't see your sights just dot and go. But remember, you must be able to use a flashlight, spend your money that you would have used for that tritium rear for a Surefire.
  25. Have you priced 38 super brass, thats what kept me out of open$$$$$$$$
