  1. OP I wouldn't worry about 0.003" unless it is preventing the gun from going into battery and if that is the case, you may want to shorten them more so that you aren't so close to go / no-go territory as 0.003" isn't a whole lot. Most will see that much variation due to slight difference in the bullet shape at the tip. But to answer your question - yes ; reseat and recrimp of a loaded round is not a big deal. Provided of course they aren't roll crimped revolver rounds.
  2. Sounds like you get it.
  3. Stages can be challenging and safe at the same time. If you intentionally build a stage to see if you can get a shooter to break a rule and be DQ'd then you shouldn't be playing the game either. We were all new shooters at some point and come to competitive shooting with different backgrounds, skills and aspirations. Be nice.
  4. Nice job guys - great way to welcome the new shooters with questions. Sophie - as pointed out, the muzzle of the gun can never be pointed at you or anyone else regardless of condition - loaded or not. IMHO, stages where the required movements may result in breaking the 180 or sweeping the shooter should be reconfigured so that isn't possible but clearly not everyone fells that way. At a minimum the SO should point it out and make sure the shooters are aware. Sounds like you handled it with a lot of class, humility and grace. Don't let it scare you away. And don't let the knuckleheads here scare you away either.
  5. I think what you are looking for is called "indemnification". How that gets agreed to and the exact language should probably come from an attorney.
  6. There is a 1050 brass processing bypass on thingverse ( 3d printed ) that does the same thing without modifying the press.
  7. Just a thought - Out of respect for the person who lost their life, do you all think you can take this equipment discussion somewhere else?
  8. RIP - prayers for all involved.
  9. Go and read Brian's post regarding the classified rules. I'll make it easy because I know how busy the mods are. Pay attention to the part where Brian says " Members using the Classifieds on an ongoing basis are expected to contribute to the core mission of Brian’s Forums – the discussion of shooting." Bolding is Brian's, not mine. I'll say it again. Poster in question here hasn't contributed for 4 year. An whether or not I've ( or anyone else ) has been moderated is not relevant to this situation.
  10. I'm sorry - with all the restrictions that exist here on BE so that the place can be what it is, allowing these sorts of post in the classifieds makes no sense. BTW - the poster in question hasn't been here in 4 years. Shows up just to sell scarce reloading supplies in classifieds and that's OK ?
  11. I haven't shot at a lot of clubs but I can't ever remember being asked, let alone told, to tear down a stage when we were done. I suppose I would if asked buts that just because it's the kind of person I am. To the OP - if they ask you to help, then help. It's called being of service to others. It's good for the soul, or so I think. And to the rest of you pompous asses, climb down off your high horse and clean up after it.
  12. Shoot til slide lock then take up trap
  13. I started with the Vibraprime when they first came out. Worked great. Gave to a friend and got one of the new ones. The current version doesn't work for me at all. At all. Picked up a RF100 and it just flat works. Zero problems once I leveled it. I keep it covered so no dust and blow it out before starting. CCI, Win & Federals all work fine.
  14. I've been using 231 / HP38 for quite some time.
  15. And this has what to do with the progression of CO ? Start a new thread if you want to discuss it. Perhaps we can get a mod to clean up the extraneous posts.
  16. I've been using Vectan BA-10 for SC loads for about 20 years now. It is in the same area as VV N310 as far as burn rate but uses less and is cheaper. 2.5 gr under a 115 gr or 100 gr or 95 gr but the gun is set up for SC so keep that in mind. It isn't an USPSA open gun that shoots major pf loads.
  17. I tested this once upon a time IIRC, I loaded known once fired brass to 40 major with 180 gr bullets and N320 After 10 firings including rollsizing as part of the reloading process they were all still GTG so I quit.
  18. This is actually a real good scale. I bought one from Old Will Knot and it has been excellent.
  19. This has been discussed a lot over the last 20+ years and I'm sure if you did a search you could find some of the threads. In the interest of saving you some time, I'll hit the high points and if you would like to go down the rabbit hole, search away. Traditional size dies can't do anything for the lower portion of the case. The roll sizer, either the CasePro 100 or the RollSizer from The Land of Oz, push that part of the brass back into spec. In addition, the roll the rim of the case to make it more uniform. The end result is the base of the case is back to spec so the loaded ammo passes the case gauge test and it helps the load stack better in the magazine. In uniforming teh rim, it alos helos with extraction. Google "glock bulge" to see what the worst offenders look like.
  20. Welcome from SoCal - now, send me some water.
