  1. Never heard of them. That's pretty spendy IMHO. Any idea who is actually building the gun?
  2. I searched but not very hard so if this has been thrashed out in another thread, point me in that direction Wanted to know everyone's opinion on safeties for the 1911 / 2011 guns. I have always had ambis but don't remember using them all that much if at all and was wondering if anyone else felt the same. So, what do you like and why and for what game/use ?
  3. Actually, there are a lot of shooters who use non-pre ban mags. lots.
  4. In California, the vast majority just ignore the law and shoot hicaps in both Limited and Open.
  5. This is easy. There are a few good choices in electronic scales. What are you loading ? Precision Rifle ? Shot shell ? Pistol ? I have used several scales from Jennings including the JSR200 which has a good resolution and capacity. At $ 23, it is a good value. it reads to 0.1 gr and for pistol or shot gun loads, it will more than work. But if you, how should I put this, want more just because you can and not because you really need it, you probably want something with higher resolution. Many people use the My Weigh GemPro scales. It has a much higher resolution but is also $125. Do you need 0.02 resolution or is 0.1 good enough? I have a old Redding beam scale that has been tuned and will react when a single kernal of powder is added or removed from the pan. I rarely use it except for precision rifle loads or to double check the digital scale.
  6. Vortex, Nightforce, Kahles, S&B, Tangent Theta, etc Go over to Snipershide.com forum and dig in!
  7. I bought a press from Kimball Bowden at Bobcat Armory and was very happy with the transaction. I recommend him to anyone who asks and no one has come back and said they were unhappy. Just the opposite in fact.
  8. I picked one up for $207 during one of the Black Friday sales - Seemed like a good price.
  9. Got the email from Mike last night. He and I talked about it on Monday.
  10. Let's face it, we've all seen stuff posted for sale at a heck of a deal only to be a bit slow. Not this time. Picked up a lightly used CasePro 100 for a great price. Arrived yesterday.
  11. The only thing that takes getting use to is the ratchet. I took mine off but others don't.
  12. I learned on a 1050 that a friend has. I've had the 550, 650, Square Deal and currently use a Super 1050 & SL900. The biggest thing I didn't like on the 650 is the primer system. I didn't like how you have to cycle the press to fill the little wheel and if you ever want to stop it, good luck. Fortunately now there is a guy who makes a Primer Stop Switch that allows you to switch the primer advance off. It's really slick. Google " Primer Stop Switch " and click on the EBay link.
  13. He is the new Brian for Dillon dealers. Glad I could help. He hooked me up too for a S1050 back in July.
  14. Get a quote from Kimball @ Bobcat Armament - he's having a Black Friday sale
  15. Ben is having a 10% off sale starting Friday : http://benstoegerproshop.com/gun-parts/1911-2011/magazines/
  16. No - bring all you want but you are supposed to take it with you when you leave.
  17. Well done Max - How do you like the Calvin Elite trigger ? I'm trying to justify it. ( not really )
  18. Call Kimball Bowden @ Bobcat Armament. Ever since Brian retired as a Dillon dealer, Kimball is the go to guy.
  19. And where, pray tell, will it be at ?
  20. Once you have decided to get a Dillon, you need to buy the most expensive one you can afford. Period. No one ever bought the 650 and says they wish they had gotten a Square Deal. Many people, after upgrading from the SD to the 650 have said, why did I wait do so long. Provided you aren't obsessed with fixing things that aren't broke, you will be fine with a 650. When I had mine, I never tinkered with it beyond caliber changes. I've since upgraded to a 1050. Enjoy.
