Standing DAO 50 ft. one raged hole. Apex hammer w/comp firing pin 5 Lbs 10 oz. with federal only I need some slower powder I am thinking for the 165s I don't think I will wast time with Titegroup... I am going to try WST next (I wish I had WST powder data for Quickload) I was hoping to see more load data with success stories on this forum by now... Please share looking for help.
  2. I wish I knew LOL I am not that far yet, I plan on going with 160 bullets and E3 or WST to start. New gun still working on installing a fiber sight, and about to start fitting Apex hammer. Then I need to figure out what what to do about an $1100 gamer gun that has no CYLINDER CHAMFERING???Why would this not be done IN A GAMER GUN? sorry for the rant...
  3. Just got 2000 New 9mm Starline cases that I will load with coated bullets for my S&W 929 The case edges seem sharp. Do you think it is a good idea to tumble them (in Walnut or Corn ???) for several hours to slighly smooth the edges or not.
  4. I tried to upload a picture, I have done it way in the past but no luck tonight....sorry. The flat part of the unit that is 90 degrees to the threads. The part of the primer seated that bottoms out when you screw it in. I had a HARD time getting this unit chucked up im a Dewalt drill but finally got it. Rad the drill on high and took a file and GENTLY trimmed off a few thousands of an inch. I bought a spare to do this to just incase. I got lucky my first try it was perfect for me. If Hornady would offer this unit with an extended lenght piston for the Small and Large primer as an OPTION for people that need to seat primers deeper (some competion shooters that want to utilize extended firing pins) I think they could SELL MORE PRESSES. (I know the Dillion 1050 has an adjustment for primer depth)
  5. I did the shimming and it got be .003" below flush with my Federal primers. I have just barely a bit of drag I will most likely reduce my shim by .0005 or maybe .001 For my testing/experimenting I wanted to remove the most slop. I bought a S&W929 revo and plan on installing an Apex Tactical extended firing pin. They state you need to seat Federal primers .007"-.010" below flush. The next step I did was to take my primer seater out of the press and chuck it in a drill and use a hand file and trim off a few thousands of an inch so when I screw it in my press it just touches the primer sled. Now my primers are .007-.008" below flush. FWIW-Adding a dime to the base of the press does nothing basically. the limiting factor when you do that is once that piston travels up and bottoms out on that e-ring attached to the piston it will not go higher into the primer pocket.
  6. I ordered the .100 Thanks everyone. Going to try the orange to start with; also got some green to try.
  7. I just got this 929 today. I am wanting to get a fiber optic front from Toolguy, then I am sending it to Apex for action/chamfering cylinder/hammer/firing pin for Federal primers. I plan on starting with Bayou 135's and then possibly 160's The stock sight width is 125 and seems the right width for a non fiber (stock sight). I am unsure what width FO to get. I hear most like the .100 width Any advise on sight width? (this is going to be my first production revolver for competition) Now I need to figure out how to seat my Federal primers deeper than flush on a Hornady LNL AP.

  9. Shooting 125 Gr. LTCP with 2.5 gr. WST for steel in Starline SC brass. Nice accurate/efficient round, but my concern is there any damage being done from the bullet jump long term?
  10. Yes that is a different style than mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I am having the same issue only with 38 Special..... I am dying to know what they sent you to fix the "issue"? Don't take this the wrong way but I see this as a blessing someone besides me had this issue and GOT A FIX from Hornady! Please provide a picture if possible and part numbers. I am happy Hornady took care of your issue. My communication skills need to be worked on apparently as I had no such luck when I called Big RED. I will follow up with them again Monday. Looking to be another Happy Camper!
  12. I was using N320 with 147 L-FP out of a CZ Target Shadow. I just picked up a S&W CORE 9mm with a Delta Point for Steel (just had to have it) and trying to get a replacement for N320. to shoot up a gizillion 147 L-FP This gun is accurate with 115's 124's but I suspect no powder will make it print 147's but that is another thread. I think I will try Alliant E3 if it dosen't work I will add it to the collection of Clays, S1000, TG, WST.
  13. I was hoping to hear feedback aout the recoil (compared to N320). I know it is not scientific....Thanks.
  14. My last 4lb jug is almost gone.... Any insight... Thanks Dry in Denver
  15. I just started loading 38 Special (been reloading 9MM & 45ACP for years). I did notice the 38 Special cases were slow to load up the tube (with both shell plates Small and Large) but got there reliably; I will have to look into the "washer" My issue is past the tube, I have brass jamming at the funnel, and sometimes 2 pieces of brass drop instead of one. I adjusted it but this issue still continues (abount once every 10-25 pulls). I can not get close to the speed of loading 9mm or 45acp. I assumed everyone had this issue due to the design but I was amazed no one else seem to be having it...?? Thank god I rarely shoot much 38 special.
  16. I just got this 4.25 9mm ICORE and mounted the Deltapoint and ran to the range. 25 yards Bench 3 shot group. (Load- 4.6 grs. N320 / Zero 115 gr. FMJ) Can’t seem to get a 5 shot group…..not sure if the barrel is not locking up or the most obvious possibility; ME. 1st. time shooting it today.
