  1. I wouldn't say you were beating me "without much trouble". You and I have definitely swapped accuracy %'s lately. Looks like I'm going to have step up my game even more now that you're going back to your "accurate gun".
  2. I'm reaching out to the Shooting community to see if there are any veterinarians out there that would be willing offer some free advice. We have a Shepherd mix that is approx 9 1/2 yrs old that was just diagnosed with a Beta Cell Tumor in her pancreas. We are consulting our own Vet, but looking for more opinions on our options. PM me please if you would be willing to let me bounce some questions off of you. Thanks, Glenn
  3. Maybe that's what happened to the last caricature artist?!
  4. Good news is it looks like this will be a classifier match in Limited. Has to be a level 3 match, with 3 GMs in the division Not entirely true. The match can be a Level II or III. I have a Level II in my classifications ( 2011 SC Sectional ). Also, the 3 GM guideline is just that, a guideline. I think that is what most MD's do, and have done, so it is referred to by most as a rule. I've looked a number of times for this rule, and it doesn't exist. Plus, you can have 3 GM's in a match, and if they don't shoot GM quality, it still might not count if USPSA office determines otherwise. Here is what it says in the Classifer Book: Scores From Major Matches A shooter’s performance in larger matches and tournaments may also be used to help establish a classification. In order for overall scores from a Level II or Level III match to be entered as a classifier, the match director must submit an application for Level II or Level III match with the “Results for Classification” check box marked. Please note that there is no guarantee that the overall results will be used. As a minimum requirement, the results and competitor list will be reviewed at the USPSA office to determine whether enough top shooters completed the match and performed at a level high enough to be considered a national standard.
  5. It's supposedly...not supposebly. "I couldn't care less"...not "I could care less" the latter means you actually could care less! And when typing: it's should've...not should of
  6. Yes, that is exactly what I thought was happening. It was bouncing back way too quick to be the result of another shot.
  7. The rules say the hammer must be all the way down. 8.1.2.2 “Double action” – chamber loaded, hammer fully down or decocked. What Scott said...all the way down. You're referring to half cock, and no, you cannot start in the half cock position. As for Cajun's trigger kit, be careful, one of there modifications is not legal for production use. The extreme reach reduction kit is not legal because it replaces the trigger with one that has an overtravel screw. Since the screw is visible from the outside, it is not a legal modification. ( No problem with Limited and L-10, just not production ).
  8. That's what I get for answering a post before my morning coffee! I misunderstood the OP. I thought he was starting unloaded with the hammer cocked. Clearly not what he said. My apologies. To the OP's original question, NO, no procedureal, no bump to open. No penalties whatsoever. There is no rule requiring first shot to be DA. The rule is the gun starts hammer down. You are not required to drop the hammer on an unloaded start where you are required to load after the start signal. You are good to go.
  9. Shooter wasn't in the correct start position ( or I should say the gun wasn't ), so the RO should not have started him. I think if it comes to light after the fact that the hammer was back, it's a reshoot. I think it would be the same as starting with hands relaxed as opposed to in the surrender position. Not positive about that. But shooter definitely shouldn't have been given the start signal.
  10. +1 Showing us the matrix of how many shooters are in each Division and class is awesome. Thank you Chris for giving us that level of detail for the match. Looking forward to shooting this match again, and working it for the first time. Plus, I need my Skyline chili and Montgomery Inn rib fixes! Also, does anyone know if Shooters Connection has a store front, or are they internet only? Was thinking of stopping in that Thursday on my way up to Ohio since it looks like they are right off the highway.
  11. This happens to me every time I have a "CBC" headstamp case in station 2. The resistance is so great, that the ram will seem like it hit something on the way down. Nope, it's just the CBC sticking to the powder flare die.

  13. You are in. Fault Line . . . . . . . . . .A physical ground reference line in a course of fire which defines the limit(s) of the shooting area. 2.2.1.2 Shooting Boxes and Fault Lines are used to define the limits of the shooting area(s). (See Rule 10.2.1) Fault line is part of the shooting area. So if you are standing on it, with feet not touching either side, you are deemed inside the shooting area.
  14. FWIW, I was one of the RO's working with Scott on this stage, and I believe he made the right call. If the stage designer wanted both of your feel outside the shooting area, then he should have stated that in the WSB. Otherwise, show me a rule that says one foot in and one foot out is NOT outside the shooting area. If they wanted you facing uprange, it should have been in the WSB. If they wanted your heels on the outside of the fault line, it should have been in the WSB. None of these were in the WSB. So until someone shows me a rule contradicting the call, I think Scott got it right.
  15. Yes, but I believe one of the points that Skydiver was trying to make is the sight picture rule. From the IPSC rulebook: 8.7.1 Competitors are prohibited from taking a sight picture and/or dry firing prior to the start signal. Violation will result in a warning for the first occurrence and one procedural penalty for each subsequent occurrence in the same match. Competitors may, while pointing their firearm at the ground, adjust electronic sights. I thought the rule used to be you were allowed a sight picture on one target only, because I seem to remember someone at the IPSC Nationals in Columbia, SC last year getting a procedural for taking a sight pitcure on two targets. They either changed it since last October....or I'm wrong, which is a distinct possibility!
  16. I agree. Not wanting to shoot the rifle during practice, "Hey Diddle Diddle, right down the middle", and my favorite..."I'm a good shot". He needed to go 4 for 4 to not get voted into the elimination challenge. Quote of the night....Did he just tell the world champion "I'm a good shot"? LOL, I was going to say it looks like he's ready to go postal, but they don't let him play with the guns, so that's not likely!!
  17. FWIW, I recently had to replace my CR Speed belt. I followed the directions from Shooters Connection exactly, and got the correct belt. Don't go with your pants size. Go with your waist measurement and add 2" just like they say.

Man o man...the only thing better than seeing OU in the Sweet 16 is that I picked them in one of my pools to go that far!

  21. I haven't seen his Tanfo airsoft in person yet, so I can't speak to the feel of each, but based on what he's told me so far, it seems that the Tanfo is better, for these reasons: Adjustable and removable sights on the Tanfo, KZ75 doesn't allow you to remove the sights CO2 vs Green Gas - Green Gas is a PITA to buy. You can save money and use regular propane with an adaptor, which i bought. However, using it in the garage, the smell turned me off right away. I'll stick with the PITA green gas. Just need to buy in bulk. But I definitely wish it was CO2. Hammer on the KZ75 is Way too long. Had to dremel off the end of the spur. Every time it fired, it smacked the webbing of the shooting hand between the thumb and forefinger. That wasn't fun at all. The big issue is the gun itself. Airsoft practice is most effective when you shoot the same gun you run in competition. So although the Tanfo might be better, I still don't regret my decision on the KZ75 because that is the kind of gun I run in competition. BTW...for those reading....I do believe Glefos can get 1" groups with the Tanfo airsoft. Don't let my comments dissuade you from buying one. That was good nature ribbing between friends.
  22. You forgot to tell him no FTEs on the first stage of the match. SC Sectional in two weeks, and that's your response? Karma..meet Glefos....Glefos...meet Karma!! And just for the record, it was only one FTE (along with the two mikes), followed by two mikes on stage two. Oh yeah, word to the wise if you're shooting production, and you drop a mag with 9 rounds in it, it's a good idea to know where it is in case you run out on the last array. Othewise you will look really silly on video looking around for a magazine when you reach down to your belt and the only thing you grab is air.
  23. Irregardless and supposebly are not words, when you say them, they make you sound like a Ra-Tard. And while I'm at it, it's "should've", not "should of".
