Ok now that the nationals venue is set in stone, I might as well start planing for it, or seeing if is even possible. Basically what is the best airport to arvie at? I will be departing from San Fransisco. I know that there are few to choose from but all are going to require a few hours of driving to get to Quincy. Choosing a hotel is usualy straight forrward but are certian locations more desirable than others. Any other advise form the verteran travlers to that area would be appreciated.

most holsters will require a minor re fitting of the locking mechanism to switch between the 1911 and a 2011. Most will include parts necessary to make the change over.

I don't live there but looks like western washington area has alot of clubs. I may have a possible relocation to that area in about a year or so. California still has the most GMs and Ms. Texas is a close second, followed by AZ and FL. class summary

Allmost any race holster will work with a 1911. Safariland, Limcat, Ghost and CRspeed are they major players. Any of them can be set up to work with a 1911. What you need to decide which locking system works best for you. Try a few different ones that people may have at your local clubs. Search the forums to see what people think about a particular brand. Brian said that the Safariland 010 is coming back. That is a great race holster to start out with. Bolth IDPA and IPSC are GAMES played with guns. They are not going to provide your skills to help you defend yourself and your home. As far as equipment you will need a gun, sutable holster, and at least 5 magazines and pouches.

yup the poll needs to go higher. on average 4 matches a month at an average cost of 25 dollars. thats about 1200 bucks.... throw in few major matches and im up to about 1800. and that doesnt incude the ammo.

Just blew into town and took the match...Im suprised they will let you back. Either that or you are going to have that club to yourselvs because no one else will return for fear of loosing. The Littmans will be a great asset to any club they decide to join. Im still sad they had to leave mine.

FWIW, almost all of the digital scales that are marketed for reloadng are made by PACT. Major brands include RCBS, lyman, and horniday scales The new dillon scale is the exception...I think. The old verson of the dillon is made by PACT I belive. BTW I hate my RCBS going to buy a new dillon soon.
