  1. you sure?!?! I could have swore that I had some side by side and the 9x23 as a tad longer.
  2. Yup .38 super is 22.86mm just a tad shorter than 9x23. hence your problems. WFIW as of june starline changed the head stamp to 9x23 instead of 9 supercomp to lessen the confusion between it and .38 supercomp. I dont know why they didnt put 9x23 on it in the firstplace. Don't feel so bad. Thats what the forums are for. Learning.
  3. Christmass...I cant even think about that yet. Im still pissed off that my relatives trashed my house last night and I'm stuck with cleaning it today. THey are long gone but their mess is still here. OH yeah... "give me a christmass list", they tell me. I shoulden't have to write down things I want for christmass. If you had payed the least amount attenition all year long you whould know what I want and need. If you cant give a gift from your heart...default and send cash!
  4. Im no balistics expert, or engineer of anysort, but I do think that most of his stuff is therory and speculation. People have been cleening their barrels since the black powder days.... If we weren't suposed to, some one would have found out that cleaning causes barrel degradation along time ago. People using .38 supers have been using .355 dia bullets for who knows how long with no adverse effects. My barrel has .355 stamped on the hood and by golly thats what I'm gonna put in it. Blah!
  5. Go through it all regardless. You should be separating out all the bad stuff before you run it through your press. You never know what you might have picked up. 9x23, 9mm largo, .356 TSW all look pretty much the same when they are on the ground. Furthermore, just because it fits in the shell plate, doesn't mean it is ther right stuff either. Most people tend to run a single make of brass at a time rather than a mixed lot. Personally I only pick up brass that has been shot out of my gun. 9 supercomp is a 9x23 and is not the same as .38 supercomp. .38 super auto +p is not compatible with .38 super comp. .38 super comp, .38 TJ and the armscore .38 super rimless will all function in you gun however due the the different internal dimensions they will produce diffrent velocities with the same powder charge. I suggest that you stick with one type of brass and develope a load with a chrono for each specific make you intend to use. When your armscore brass arives, stick with that for a while. Be carefull with your reloading practices and down blow yourself up.
  6. congratulations. Its good that every thing is going well, despide being premature.
  7. well i gues labor laws vary state by state. Unions are great.
  8. NO personal experince with it, however I have read noumerous places that they are all pretty much the same and are interchangeable. The armscore have been know to have a pretty short lifespan and crack realtivly easy.
  9. It say it the case fits in the shell plate use it. I have a few shell plates that do triple duty with a quick change of the locator buttons. The Powder funnle for the 44 mag may be too long for the 444 marlin. Possible problems you may run into are that you wont have enough adjustment on the powder die or that you may get it adjusted correctly but it will be too tall to connect the powder meassure reset rod. Give it a whirl. If it dont work...your out only a few ruined cases.
  10. Measue the dimensions of a your good mags with calipers. Measure the bad mag and find the wide spot. Squeeze the mag back in to tolerence with a vise. Go slow. It may take several attempts as the steel may want to spring back. Don't over squeze or it will end up in the parts cemetary.
  11. Most people that have to work holidays get at least time and a half, if not double or triple time. if my department was open on major holidays I would be the first to sign up. I have firends in the grocery indusdustry and they actually fight over who works on the holidays because they pay triple time. But as Erik said be thankfull you have a job. Personally I hate family gatherings. They usually end up with a bunch bickering and fighting. Plus the prep and cleanup.... Forget that. THats why I'm writing this postand in the back room hiding from the rest of my family.
  12. I've compaired the .355 and .356 and noticed no measureable difference in accuracy. No real difference over the chronograph. I run a 115g .355 at near 180PF in my open gun no problem. If this is true and I were Will, I surely wouldent publish this information. Just think of all the barrels he could be replacing.....
  13. Here is evey thing you ever wanted to know. go read all the way down
  14. we are drifting here a little but.... one of my local clubs had a stage were the competitor had to take a shot of lemon juice before engaging targets blaah makes my stomach twist just thinking about it.
  15. What are tey sending your gun 5 day ground? I thought that there was some law that firearms had to be shiped next day air?
  16. well, for the one that doesn't lock back on the last round I would look at the angle and height of the follower as compaired to the working mags amd adjust acordingly. The other mag take it apart if you can and see where its hanging up.
  17. heck run it till it starts to feel crunchy.... naw just periodicly(2-5k) swipe it clean with a q-tip or somthing. The dillon dies are nice because you can remove the innards of the die without unscrewing it from the toolhead.
  18. If thats the case lynn, we expect a full product review after you test it out.
  19. You know, this reminds me of a similar thread where the competitors holster containing a loaded gun fell from the belt hanger. I cant find the thread. What did we decide there? It should be treated the same way.
  20. Come on now! Walk your lazy a$$ over to the Safe Area and bag it. WOW I have yet to see that one, but I say its far worse than handling a gun in a holster or handling a belt, with a holster containing a gun the trigger is securely coverd.
  21. well certainly looks cool, however with the addition of each screw the potential for disaster increases exponentialy. I havent seen one in action yet.
  22. From my expereince, most custom guns aren't ready to run out of the box either. They need a few thouand rounds through them to loosen up. Then you will probably need to make several adjustments to get it just he way you want.... extractor, trigger , recoil spring.....And FWIW my box stock EDGE ran 100% from day one. However if you get a custom gun you can get it the way you want and not have to make costly upgrates to a factory gun. Its either pay me now or pay me later.
  23. so is .45... cheap is retorspect. The only real reason in IPSC to use the .40 is mag capacity. Everyone has to shoot the same size magazine...the more rounds you can get into it the better. Therefor use the .40 Now if were in L10 I would prefer to use a .45 for the feel.
  24. Some clubs put them so close you blow the patches of the targets....
