  1. I have bought brass brass(not nickle) from midway. good quality. 99% winchester. most of it from non glocks.
  2. about 500 is the most I will do at one sitting. Thats quite a workout on a 550. I usualy only load for what I need and rarely have surpluss ammo on hand.
  3. Dan is a police officer somewhere in the eastbay.
  4. I hear that infinity probably won't be having theri match this year......
  5. Did you find somthing wrong with the origonal barrel, or did you just replace it for the hell of it?
  6. Nolan all of my training has been on Ford trannys. The principal fundimentals pretty much consistant across the board. None of the Ford electronicly controled transmissions will allow the down shift. I can't belive Chrysler corp is that dumb to allow such an action to occur. Upshifing using the manual valve sucks and will allways delay. New electronic shift controls are really cool and work well and fast.
  7. Not many matches officialy announced out here in the west. SO far it looks like its just going to be northern CA section, A1 in reno, then A2 in mesa. Might hit up the cascade section and the crazy croc do know when they are yet.
  8. I wonder if they have rounds per hour data? I bet you could easily do 1300+ very expensive. wonder if you can change the caliber specific parts or would you have to buy a whole other assy.
  9. Most modren transmissions won't perform the shift in to manual low until the appropriate opperating speed has been reached. You can throw it into low at 40mph its not going to down shift into low untill you reach 15mph or so. Even though the shift lever is in low the tranny will stay in 2 or 3 until it is safe to down shift as to not over rev the engine and transmission internals. It is true that low and reverse share the same drum and band in many applicatations, however it doens't act as a brake in it self. It holds the reverse drum to achive a certain level of gear reduction through a planitary gear set. When in hilly terrain or towing it is usualy advised that you should take the vheicle out of overdrive. A good indication of when to do this is if the reansmission on is constantly in and out of overdrive or "Hunting". In most cases you will have engine braking when out of overdrive. If increased engine braking is desired it is safe to put into the next lowest gear providing that you are going the appropriate speed for that gear range. As far as everyday around town driving overdrive the prefered selection in most cases. Your vehicle owner's manual has a wealth of information in it, and I personally recomend vehicle owncer read their's. The best thing to keep a transmission running well is to change the fluid and filter frequently and at the recomended intervals and avoid over loading. **disclaimer. all the information above is general in nature. Follow the appropriate operating procedure in your owner's manual for your specific vehicle. I though CVTs first came out in subarus? BRAT? maybe
  10. Today my open run was a 6.88sec. 7.7hf. threw a whole mess of C's, trashed a reload. If Warren's was a 76%, mine should be around 68%
  11. bend it to the left. maybe Erik needs one of these...http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10299
  12. Grass sucks when its wet. Grass sucks when its 8 inches high and you can't find your brass. Grass sucks when you can't see that pothole that your about to bust your ankle in. Grass is cool because your mags dont get full of dust. Grass is cool when someone takes care of it. The one thing I think none of you mentioned is the ability to shoot a full 180 into the side berms. The clubs I normally shoot at , all shots must impact the back berm.
  13. Depending upon what powder you had them use, .050 shorter could have a substancial difference on pressure.
  14. Bucky, next time you need factory STI parts give shoooter's connection a try. Chuck has bout every part STI makes instock. FWIW you should have a replacement on hand of every screw, pin, and small spring for your gun. Nothing worse that to have to wait for a 50 cent pin to come UPS ground, keeping you from shooting a match.
  15. look any reputable gunsmith should be able to fit a slide racker. Talk to people at your shooting range and see who they recomend. ask around.
  16. I won a match once...... it was raining about 5 people showed up. 3 of which were new shooters taking the safe handgun competitors course.
  17. I use Mpro 7 it has no smell at all. cleans really well. If you capure what you spray and run it through a coffee filter you can reuse it.
  18. I've made several versons over the years all using some sort of aresol fuel. Starting fluid and carb cleaner work the best. One model was capible of launching spuds over 150 yards
  19. thats funny. I'll have to use your line
  20. lets put it on one of your limited guns Erik. Maybe its the missing link to your flippy gun.
  21. to get 20 is usualy going to requre tuning by a gunsmith. This topic has been beaten to death over and over. you should find every thing you need by doing a simple search. look here
  22. Don't forget about proper footwear! Eventhough you won't be running around as if you pants were on fire, good foot wear is important. NO tennis shoes. Hiking boots or cleats are prefered. Second to that would be a "trail running"shoe. Something with some decient luggs. The last thing you want to do in your first match is fall on your ass.
  23. Tightloop, Depending on with whom you are conversing, it could seem like both. Showing ignorance here, but I thought they were one in the same?
