  1. Yeah I definetely can see Saul doing it. I'm still where I was before. Haven't shot the el prez in a long time....actually I haven't even been touching my gun outside of matches. Best is still a 3.08 down 12.
  2. Yeah I've heard that before....................

I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out.
  4. I was thinking the same thing. Go to the match and just shoot the damn gun. Nothing else matters.
  5. Also I'd like to add that just because you are shooting with your index does not mean you can't call your shots. No one ever said you have to see your sights on every shot....you just have to know where they were.
  6. I'm gonna have to disagree as well....I don't think anybody has won a national title by pushing. By definition if you push you are at the limit of your ability....unless you get lucky you are not going to cruise at the very limit of your ability through a national championship (or even a normal match). You push in practice....you don't go to a match and push. When you push, you try. When you try, you crash. When you crash, you lose. If you want to win, you get your performance to the point where you don't have to push. Repeatability is what wins matches....if you can't do it 10 times in a row on demand....you should not be trying it in a match.
  7. You should never have to be pushing the envelope in a match.
  8. See this is just totally ridiculous to me. Taran has never been anything but a man of integrity that I've seen....people calling him a cheater really need to curb it....now... I may be able to see IDPA's side on this IF crap like this hadn't happened several times and several matches to people I knew. Preserve the integrity of the sport by DQ'ing a competitor who freaking turned around and dry gripped his gun? I think that backfired a whole lot.

Yes Steve shoots a Beretta EII. Dave, I thought I mentioned that I use both techniques? The main reason you see me leaning in most of those videos is because of how wet it was out....I did not want to drop and push and accidentally slip on a piece of wood there.
  10. Wow it has been a really long weekend... The stages and the staff were fantastic. I was very happy with how I shot, but alas was plagued with a few gun problems during the match.
  11. Sevigny is the first one that comes to mind...especially being a Production shooter. Other than that I would recommend Max and Travis (Double Impact) more than anyone else.
  12. Agility ladders work great too.
  13. I see him everyday.....trust me......he is alive and kicking.
  14. Ok, I'll admit it....I laughed.
  15. Spook nailed it. Ego is the number 1 reason. If there was no ego...there would be no trying, no "oh I know how to do that", no match stress, no anxiety, no regret....all of that would be replaced by just observing....because there is no good or bad from the result. And one thing I'd like to add. Just because you are moving fast doesn't mean you have to shoot slow.....I've taken targets at a dead run....as long as you see what you need to see to make the shot, nothing else matters. Tsunami, hurricane, ice storm, sun, rain, fast, slow, easy, hard.....NONE of it matters if you just execute the fundamentals.
  16. The easiest way I can put over-preperation into words is to say it makes you feel TOO comforatable behind the gun. If you don't believe me.....dry fire for 4 hours a day 7 days a week for 3 months all AFTER work and other extraneous things.....then talk to me.
  17. Yes you can dry fire too much....Trust me. I've probably dry fired more than all but a handful on this forum. Too much dry fire leads to over-preperation.
  18. I've shot this twice in Open. December 2004: 60 points in 7.17 = 8.3682 September 2005: 65 points in 6.02 = 10.7973
  19. I'm not sure about that old post but I am positive that it is the best 6 out of the most recent 8.
  20. It's first 4, or best 6 of most recent 8. Trust me....the HHF's didn't change.
  21. It happens to absolutely everyone. Normally the best course of action is to put the guns away for a few days and just step back for a bit. Slumps are just that....slumps. They are not a permanent thing.
  22. I ordered the Nano a few days ago. I'll post a review when I've had a chance to play with it some.
  23. "Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?" The first thing I thought of when I read this thread.
  24. Damn...that looks like some pretty freakin good quality.
  25. When you call them are you calling them to the left? If you are then it is merely a matter of learning proper trigger control. If not.... Have another experienced shooter you know shoot the gun and see if it is doing the same thing for him. If it is, get the gun fixed. If it isn't, you aren't calling your shots.
