  1. Thanks for the comments but I really only want an answer to the question... I realize there are other scopes out there but I asked about these 2 for a reason. Thanks.
  2. For 3 gun (in general) and without worrying about cost, would you choose the Leupold CQT or 1.5x5 and why?
  3. Now we are also measuring time in the thousanths of seconds. No matter how you shoot...if you can KNOW where the bullet will impact the instant you pull the trigger, you are fine. Really, unless you are shooting with your eyes closed you are always going to have some input from your vision. For many targets I won't even have the gun at eye level but will be looking over the slide. I'm not calling the shot in the conventional sense of the term, but I still know where the bullet is impacting.
  4. All I'll say is that is doesn't matter if you see it or feel it, as long as you know exactly where the bullet went every single time.
  5. I really agree with DP. And Kimberkid is right....it is not the match that changes our lives, it is the days and nights before the match that does. As to the subject of SS Open....I think there are too many divisions already.
  6. Wish I could go again as it was a fantastic match and location last year, but same dates as the Ironman.
  7. Thanks for the kind words bud...See you Saturday!
  8. That's really too bad.... I know the shootoffs at Nationals was one of my biggest goals as a shooter (and know for certain others feel the same).
  9. Ever consider that maybe you aren't aiming at the correct thing? Remember what the target is....the center of the A zone.
  10. Undersatndable, but why would the gun have just started making this malfunction after shooting 8000 rounds through it this season? Could the breechface dimensions change this dramatically from normal wear and tear? If that isn't it, what else could be the problem? Should I just try changing the springs and seeing what happens?
  11. Ok, this jam surfaced at Area 5 this past year, but I've been too ticked to deal with it until now. Brand new (about 1500 rounds through it max) Aftec, worked flawlessly for all the rounds previous to this. 9 major gun, tuned mags, all winchester headstamp brass. Gun was cleaned thoroughly. The jam: Brass is not even extracting out of the chamber. Being stuck in there (all the way) and you can see visible scratch marks from the extractor slipping off on the rim of the brass. Brass will always extract after the gun is racked. I have no clue what is causing this but it needs to get fixed as I have to bring this gun with me to the Columbus Cup in Feb. Comments, questions, suggestions?
  12. Yeah something wierd is going on. The dates for Open are October 11 - 14, at Tulsa, OK.
  13. That makes sense only if the lean is the fastest way to do things. Also targets in most arrays are usually set up in one direction from easiest to hardest...so if you have to skip one target then make a long transition back to it you have actually lost a lot of ground. Don't overcomplicate things.
  14. For some it is... For me it is the same either way.
  15. Top 5 at Open Nats Win at least one Area match Never place out of the top 3 except at Nats Make progress towards being on the 2008 WS Team Win the Ironman in Scoped Tactical Shoot at least one international match
  16. As a general rule I usually shoot the easy shots coming into a position. There are always exceptions though.
  17. Thinking to himself: "My balogna has a first name...it's B-R-I-A-N......."
  18. My hands are not very big and while being able to maintain your grip throughout the reload is an advantage, it is not a necessity. There is nothing wrong with flipping the gun in your strong hand to hit the mag release. Both myself and Max Michel use this technique. I would really advise against hitting the mag release with your weak hand. It will slow the entire motion down, make it choppier, and also requires more fine motor control. What I would recommend is just getting used to kicking the gun to the side in your hand, hitting the mag release, and flipping it back. When practiced, this method is no slower than not needing to shift your grip.
  19. If you had a coach with you every step of the way I think the gains could be staggering. Just make sure you pick the right coach.
