  1. Not having an Area match is as bad as not having Nationals. ....Do what needs to be done.
  2. It's all in your head. Moving or stationary reloads require the exact same motor skills, if one is consistently faster than the other you are either A: not consistent in your ability to reload, B: Have a problem with your technique, or C: You try.
  3. Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. A top 16 finish at Nats will happen this year. Barrettone, Thanks.....
  4. To me, aiming is keeping the gun on target until the bullet leaves the barrel. So if you really think about it, aiming and trigger control are one in the same.
  5. Usually when the match is 2 day format, there is an option to shoot 1 day with staff. Not sure if that is the case with this match though.
  6. I may not be a revo shooter, but can I come to?
  7. I believe the law is that you cannot travel with an ASSEMBLED magazine. So all the mags must be disassembled whenever you are in the state and not on the range.
  8. I have used both set ups and I would REALLY recommend using the CR Speed rig. You can use the belt with the Limcat equipment. The CR Speed is as fast as any other holster on the market. On the Limcat mag pouches, the tension is NOT adjustable. I always had the problem of out running mags during stages, which I have never done with CR Speed.
  9. John, That was the funniest damn thing I've read in a LONG time.
  10. The reason I don't like the scoop is because in the traditional method of it, you don't actually have a grip on your gun until you are about halfway out to the firing position. If it gets hung up on something (like a holster like John described), expect to see the fire stick flying through the air.
  11. Boo, The vast majority of the time I can....the only time I can't is when there is like a 3 or 5 yard target, and then I just can't turn fast enough without messing up the quality of my draw. In the quest for the sub-3 el prez, a .8 turning draw is required. In point of fact though, when I shot this, my turning draw was 1.1 ish and my facing draw like in the low .8s.
  12. My starting mag is right below my belly button as well. I tried it for a very long time having the mag nearly horizontal, but I found that it is hard to get a consistent grip in the magazine without a point of reference (point of reference being the base of your hand hitting the basepad of the mag). So instead of having my mag inline with my wrist, I put the first mag at a near 45 degree angle and it works perfectly for me.
  13. #2 sounds like the scoop. If so, I would recommend against it for safety reasons and the fact that it is very hard to get a consistent grip on the gun. The reason it feels so much faster is because everthing is being done in one motion, but if you time each draw, there is no advantage (speed wise) from using the scoop or the snatch. I am personally a big fan of how Matt Burkett suggests you getting your strong hand on the gun. Very consistent and safe...and no slower than the scoop.
  14. Really your turn draw and facing draw should be the exact same since the turn is done during the dead time of drawing the pistol out anyway.
  15. I would really recommend against it. The extra rounds will only help you on maybe 1 out of every 20 stages...and chances are the benefit will be negligable. Extra capacity in no way out weighs Major power factor scoring in Limited.
  16. I clean the top end as necessary and before every major totally strip down the bottom and clean it good. Probably doesn't matter too much, but I like the feeling of the trigger and the action on a freshly cleaned gun.
  17. I dunno....come up to Michigan and find out.
  18. The timer won't work effectively on anything under a .6 par time as both the start and stop beep are .3 seconds in length.
  19. I don't understand why you would use exclusively 170s. Out of all the stages I shot this year, I reloaded to the big stick 3 times. I slowed it down a hair to make sure it didn't fumble, but if you are reloading correctly (ie. using visual cues) than it is not a big deal.
  20. While everyone on that list are fantastic shooters, I gotta put my vote for my boy JJ. I actually think he should have been one of the first invitees.
  21. You...my friend....are a demon on steel.
  22. Wow am I the only one who things the kid is way out of line here? Go figure but I could have sworn young people should respect their elders....so the guy is living with her mom.....big friggin deal. get married or shut the heck up? Please....if I even now (at 21 years of age) acted that way to an adult (especially one living in my mother or father's house) I would be knocked into next freakin year. Even if she does look at it as a "temporary situation she must put up with" that still gives her no right to act like that. Sounds to me like the mother needs to actually discipline her daughter.....go figure....
  23. I would honestly train everything because you use every muscle in your body in some aspect of shooting. Do a lot of shuttle runs (maybe even play in a soccer league at night for foot speed). Forearm strength is a must, I usually work a pair of grippers while I'm driving in the car.
