  1. I'll go watch it. Has to be better than the second one.
  2. It's not a big deal. Brian's board, Brian's rules.
  3. While many of us enjoy hunting, myself included, Brian has made it fairly clear that he doesn't want this to be a hunting board. Intent This Forum is for firearm, technique, and conceptual discussions pertaining to training and competition. (And various unrelated topics.) While the occasional defensive shooting post is not prohibited, in general, defensive shooting discussions or debates are discouraged. And please, no hunting or "killing animals" (of any kind) threads.
  4. I used to have a CZ75 that I ended up giving to my x-wife. Anyway, there is a steel plate on the main range at Rio that is either 24" or 18" at the 300yrd line. I could usually put 10-12 out of 15 on it. By far the most accurate handgun I've owned.
  5. Gotta agree. I'm not looking forward to the PC version that they are going to remake for the American audience. They'll probably bucher it.
  6. Rio Salado's calendar has set up starting on March 16th and ranges closed through the 27th.
  7. Thanks for the heads up! I'm going to be stopping by on my way home.
  8. I rented it over the weekend. Typical British movie in that it is pretty slow to start. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
  9. Listen to this man. I made the mistake of making a turkey this way about 5 years ago. I've been stuck making the trukeys ever since.
  10. Right off the bat I would say the 6.5 Grendel but it really depends on some of your parameters. How far are you considering for long range? 600 and in and I would just shoot a 5.56 with a 77gr bullet. Past that you might think of moving to something bigger, esp. if you're trying to knock Larue's down. 123gr Lapua in a 6.5 Grendel or a 105 A-Max in a 6x45 would work really well.
  11. I shot this at the August 28th Hosemasters match at Rio Salado with a 62. CMCALC gives me a 68.88% Looks like I may have bumped myself into B class!
  12. I'd run out and buy a Mosin just to have fun with it. Maybe run it on a local level as a second entry or as a fun run type of stage.
  13. Thanks for sharing! Reminds me of the time my Dad and I rebuilt his old snowmobile so I could go with him. Better give him a call tomorrow and remind him too.
  14. Another vote for the FAL here. I built my own on an Imbel receiver and an Argentinian parts kit. If I do my part and feed it good ammo, it will shoot inside an inch at 100 yrds.
  15. Jerome, WHO IS THE CUSTOM PISTOLSMITH THAT DIDC THE FLUTING. THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE AND TIME. Not sure if you noticed but there is a key right next to your A key that will allow you to not type in all caps.
  16. I just bought a DAA belt. Haven't even had a chance to put any gear on it yet!
  17. You can do it with a steel framed gun as well
  18. Interesting. Seems to me that I'm seeing people trimming weight off their SI guns as fast as possible. I've shot 40+ oz limited guns and they are soft but seem sluggish on transitions to me. There aren't many stages that I've shot where the winner was determined because of a sub .15 split.
  19. Gotta agree with Jman here. All too often, the stage posted will be built much different than you will build it from the posted stage description. Only time they are specific enough that you can build the exact stage you will shoot are classifiers.
  20. Range equipment failure and a reshoot after the problem is fixed.
  21. I don't shoot IDPA but have the Ice magwell on my G35. Seating the stock mags isn't a problem, just slower. You have to really make sure to push it in because the mag sits flush with the bottom of the magwell. I use Arredondo +5 basepads. Only time I use a non extended mag is starting where I know I need to reload early in a stage and can be sure of seating the mag before I start.
  22. I've noticed no change in recoil management but my movement is much better when my belly shrinks!
  23. Kyle will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.
  24. USPSA discourages posting HHF's for the classifiers. I'm sure if you post your times someone will gladly give you your approximate %
