  1. IF they fail to comply then the squad beats them with bars of soap in tube socks until they pass out then throws them into the range dumpster. Thanks! You've given me reason to try IDPA!
  2. I have 2 that will hold 21 but only one of those will seat with 21. I've only shot one 22 round stage where I thought it gained me an advantage. I've used it on a couple 20 and 21 round stages to have an extra shot available. Makes me nervous though.
  3. A friend of mine borrowed my car to get to work one day. She called me and said she had heard a loud bang on the freeway and thought she blew a tire. Pulled over and checked but didn't see anything. She drove another 7 miles in to work. When I got there I checked around and couldn't see anything wrong. When I popped the hood there was a 4 inch hole in the side of the block. Luckily it was a Corrola with 250k on the clock that I had bought for $500 and not anything special. I do miss the 40 mpg though!
  4. They shoot very well for me. I get sub 8" groups at 100yrds out of my Remington 1100. Recoil is very mild and my local Sportsman Warehouse has them for $3.49 a box.
  5. I use the Arredondo basepads. I've never had an issue getting 20 reloadable right off the bat. Most of mine can take 21 and one can load 22 but they're a cast iron bitch to seat. Load them to 20 and they're all happy.
  6. I met mine at a Barnes and Nobel. I was hanging out in their cafe reading a book and enjoying a cup of coffee. She was studying in the corner and we made eye contact a couple times. I told myself that I'd go introduce myself when she started packing up to leave so I wouldn't interrupt her. Well I got into my book and didn't notice her packing up until she was standing at my table asking if I would mind if she sat down to chat. Any girl with the guts to step up like that really gets my attention!
  7. Power Pistol is a flamethrower and loud! I used to use it loading hot for a .45 and the fireballs were impressive. Especially shooting on an indoor range. Sucked shooting through barrels as well. I still have about half a pound only because I can't bring myself to throw it out. 6.4gr gave me 950fps out of my G35 with a 180gr Montana Gold. Just not a pleasant load to shoot.
  8. If it's a local match, I'm eating the same thing I always do. 5 scrambled eggs with sautéed onions and peppers. I cut back a bit on the coffee as well. If I'm on the road, I will try to get as close to that as possible. As long as I get a good amount of protein and fat in my meal I can reduce the mental fade. Don't make the mistake of loading up on carbs without plenty of protein and fat to hold you through. You'll crash and feel hungry half way through the match.
  9. Depends on how you sleep at night. If you are like the majority of the population and sleep on your side, get a plush mattress with great support. If you sleep on your back, move toward a slightly firmer mattress. Stomach sleepers are the people that should be sleeping on a firm. Stearns & Foster of Sealy are good choices as well as the Tempurpedic mattresses if you like sleeping on memory foam.
  10. Ironman is pretty much anything goes as far as support equipment.
  11. I'll be there. I have the day off so I may take a book and spend the day.
  12. I voted Larue but if you are ok with re-zeroing every time you switch, the PEPR is fine. I have one and it comes back "close" to zero when I move it around. I also have a Larue and can remove and reattach without a zero shift. I got tired of moving stuff around so I don't worry about reticule differences between my AR and 22 for practice.
  13. 5.0 gr of 231 with Montana Gold 165 gr HP was the most boringly consistent and accurate load I've ever used out of my G35. It is a bit harsher than Solo or N320 but it's like parts for a 350 Chevy, you can find it anywhere.
  14. I have a ENN G35 with somewhere north of 30,000 rounds through it. Maybe I'm tempting fate but I'll just keep shooting it for now.
  15. I think you're on the right track. I run 55 gr V-Max with a BC of .255 out of a 16" bbl and have never had a problem with MGM Recon's or Larue targets at distance. I've hit strobe flashers at 585 at Rio Salado and we had one at 400+ at the Area 1 Multigun match. I understand wanting a heaver bullet with more energy but I haven't needed it yet.
  16. I'm in the $50 to $100/day crowd. I don't shoot many major matches mainly for the cost but I also don't expect to take anything home from those that I do shoot. What I do enjoy is being there for the prize table. Order of finish or random draw is just as much fun for me. What I don't agree with is shooters taking off and still expecting to receive their prizes. I understand that we are all busy and want to race home after the match but for most shooters that is the only time we get to see the top shooters. I don't think an extra hour or two out of the day to show the match directors and sponsors the respect of being there to accept your prizes is asking a whole lot.
  17. Have you stripped your bolt and checked the firing pin channel for burrs? I had one once that had machining marks that made the FP kinda sticky. Polishing the FP and the channel cleared up the problems for me.
  18. Prayers and an order sent. I hope he gets better soon!
  19. Shooters Vault on 32nd and Greenway had a couple in earlier this week. Might give them a call. ETA: Phoenix, AZ
  20. My wife had never experienced one and kept opening the door to look out at it! I guess she likes to dust.
  21. I stopped a new shooter a while back because I thought she had a squib. It sounded light and I saw the case had blown out as she cycled the gun. After checking the gun, she didn't have a squib but you would have been amazed at the grumbling coming from the peanut gallery. Very poor form on a couple shooters part and I had to remind them that pasting a couple targets was better than a new shooter losing a hand!
  22. Just my luck! I'm moving to Boise in September and Area 1 is moved as close to Phoenix as possible. I guess a 10 hour drive really is no worse than a 7 hour drive.
  23. You could get your order together and then call it in. No internet record for the state to pick up.
