I've installed 4 X-lines in 2011s and one in a 1911. None required any alterations to the bow. With a STI plastic grip, the shoe dropped in, too. When fitting to two different brands of steel grips, very minimal filing was required on the shoe. None of these were the "drop-in" models.

It's the chameleon finish that Freedom Gunworks/CKArms offers on their builds. As far as I know, the parts are not offered with that finish as individual parts.

Capacity

I removed the checkering and heated both grip and tape before applying. 3M tread tape lasted over 3 years. No lifted corners or excessive wear when I sold the gun.

Can you keep a nice smooth surface on the magwell after dremeling? I wasn't willing to try that. I removed material from the base pads.

Stippled or reduced poly grips often flex enough to not allow mags to drop for certain people, too.
